Revelation 2:1
To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands.
“Now while he was serving as priest before God when his division was on duty, according to the custom of the priesthood, it fell to him by lot to enter the temple of the Lord and burn incense. And the whole multitude of the people were praying outside at the hour of incense. And there appeared to him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense. And Zechariah was troubled when he saw him, and fear fell upon him. But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zechariah, for your prayer is heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth; for he will be great before the Lord, and he shall drink no wine nor strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb. And he will turn many of the sons of Israel to the Lord their God, and he will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready for the Lord a people prepared.” And Zechariah said to the angel, “How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is advanced in years.” And the angel answered him, “I am Gabriel, who stand in the presence of God; and I was sent to speak to you, and to bring you this good news. And behold, you will be silent and unable to speak until the day that these things come to pass, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their time.” And the people were waiting for Zechariah, and they wondered at his delay in the temple. And when he came out, he could not speak to them, and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple; and he made signs to them and remained dumb. And when his time of service was ended, he went to his home.”

Mat 11.10 This is the one about whom it is written:
“‘I will send my messenger ahead of you,
who will prepare your way before you.’
Lk 7:24 After John’s messengers left, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed swayed by the wind?
The word for "angel" in the Greek means either an angelic being or a messenger. They are interchangeable because by definition angels are sent to us as messengers, as rarely as they do get sent to us.
Angels are not human. Why should we think that man is alone in the universe? The Bible speaks of the Devil, who would be considered a fallen angel. The Bible speaks of demons, which would also be fallen angels. They are creatures who, like man, were created with self-consciousness and a will, designed to reflect the image of God. In the fallen state, Satan led demons to disrupt and corrupt man on the earth, believing that their rebellion against God is a just cause and should be actively promoted.
Is there a physical difference between angels and humans? (Remember that humans can be messengers, as well as angels.)Hello Bob,
From what I understand Angels are heavenly, however the word angel can also be speaking about a human messenger, that can be sent and used by God for the benefit, encouragement, and edification of others.
An example of this is;
This would be an actual person at the church of Ephesus who were believers in God since Paul had came through that place establishing a church for the gentiles and for the Jewish people by sharing the message which was now salvation was brought for to all people now in the world.
That is how I take the word Angels. There are heavenly angels; they in my opinion are not human but heavenly; and there are angels or messengers of churches in that are human in that context because it seems most times that angels come by visions also.
Just some thoughts to consider;
Here you can see a vision which Zacharia had seen;

Angels can be human or spirits. It is a vague term used. They can be good or evil. The bible says to entertain strangers because some of them are angels of God. And they would have a body if that is the case and eating with you.Are angels human? If not, what are they?

This verse implies we will be as the angels of heaven. In a sense that means we will be angels of God perhaps. What does the word "like" mean. It means similar.Is there a physical difference between angels and humans? (Remember that humans can be messengers, as well as angels.)
While we're at it, is there a physical difference between demons and humans? (When I began this thread, I hadn't given any thought to demons. If one is to argue there are only two forms of existence - human and divine - then how does one explain demons?)

I believe there is a great difference. I believe God created Angels that are heavenly beings with free will choice just as God had given the human race. Only they are heavenly and not earthly like us. God can use people by the spirit in which someone shares the good news and they are like an angel to that person. A angel - or a messenger can be human; but actual angels that are in heaven, no they are not human; but they are similar to us in some degree.Is there a physical difference between angels and humans? I believe demons and Satan have been done away with; but they also to once were angelic beings; but since the victory of Christ I don’t believe they are around today.While we're at it, is there a physical difference between demons and humans? Brother, I think we all have the same questions because angelology is so sketchy in the Scriptures. But we can't deny that it's there. Obviously, if men can be possessed by demons, they must be different than humans. Since angels appeared in the form of men in the Bible, we can say that they can, at the very least, appear in human bodies temporarily. Perhaps they can "change bodies," just like we change clothes?Is there a physical difference between angels and humans? (Remember that humans can be messengers, as well as angels.)

When Jesus said that the resurrected saints will in the future have bodies like angels, discouraged here.
Matt 22.30 At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.
What you call "twisting" I call "making a logical deduction. It goes without saying (to me) that if angels don't marry and have kids, as humans do, then the physical features in mankind, who reproduce sexually, must be different, bodily, than angelic bodies. Inasmuch as we will be like angels in the resurrection I must assume that we will still be men, and have physical bodies, since we are going to be *raised from the dead* physically.The verse says that angels don't marry.
Why did you twist that verse into "bodies like angles".
What you call "twisting" I call "making a logical deduction.
Who populates the Heavenly Host?"" malak", the Hebrew word for messenger, = Angel (from God)

Angels are of the "Heavenly Host".
Humans are from the Earth.
What is the difference between angels and people who have gone to heaven?I believe there is a great difference. I believe God created Angels that are heavenly beings with free will choice just as God had given the human race. Only they are heavenly and not earthly like us. Who populates the Heavenly Host?
I believe the Book of Revelation is a prophesy, not a history, and therefore I believe Satan is here tempting us to sin. It seems dangerous to me, therefore, to believe he's not here.I believe there is a great difference. In my opinion.
I believe demons and Satan have been done away with; but they also to once were angelic beings; but since the victory of Christ I don’t believe they are around today.
But people will suggest human beings are demons… which is rather strange in my opinion, and people will always continue to believe that Satan is still around and so are demons; I disagree and suggest darkness within our souls is what exists and without the light of Christ; our natural ways are apparent which are not according to the ways that God desires for people to follow after which is Spiriual.
In my opinion; I’m okay with believe Satan has been done away with: some would say that is deceptive. But my faith relies complete on victory already today; and that people enter the kingdom by faith and the light comes into their lives.
I am just wondering if angels are people who have repented of their sin.Brother, I think we all have the same questions because angelology is so sketchy in the Scriptures. But we can't deny that it's there. Obviously, if men can be possessed by demons, they must be different than humans. When Jesus said that the resurrected saints will in the future have bodies like angels, the insinuation is that angels have different bodies than we do presently. But that at least is in part due to the fact man sinned, and some angels have not. We're stuck to speculating about it, which is not being specifically discouraged here.
Matt 22.30 At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.
Since we are, in fact, sinners, we tend to worship creatures that our humanity looks up to and covets, including creatures more powerful than we are. Therefore, I think that too much speculation about angels is, perhaps, discouraged, including prohibitions against worshiping other gods, contact with spirits, etc.
A healthy respect for their occasional services should, however, be respected and believed in, if we are to embrace what the Scriptures say about angels. Keeping Christ central in our worship works well in maintaining this balance between respect for higher creatures and true devotion for God.
God is going to deal with Satan at the end of the Great Trib, that has not begun yet.I believe the Book of Revelation is a prophesy, not a history, and therefore I believe Satan is here tempting us to sin. It seems dangerous to me, therefore, to believe he's not here.
This "non-earth created angelic beings" is what I wonder about. Is it possible that all angels were originally human beings? It makes more sense to me that heaven consists of God and people, rather than God, people, and angels.Currently...
God, Jesus, The non-earth created angelic beings, and the born again whose bodies have died.
Yes, it's hard to believe this world is led by anyone but Satan, considering how evil it is. The Bible teaches that - the world is ruled by Satan.God is going to deal with Satan at the end of the Great Trib, that has not begun yet.
So, Satan is alive and well., and he's built his secularized kingdom on earth that is designed to keep you focused on it.
This is why Paul told us to be in this dirty rotten place, but not OF it.
