You seem angry and have disparaged me repeatedly.
I am angry and I will continue to speak against your universal salvation doctrine. Your doctrine of universal salvation comes from the pit of hell. It's a horrible doctrine that can lead people to think they can do whatever they want and not worry about having to repent before it's too late because they will eventually be saved regardless. That's an absolutely terrible thing to promote. You clearly don't understand the urgency for people to repent and put their faith in Christ before it's too late. Why does scripture say that now/today is the day of salvation if it doesn't really matter when someone is saved? Have you ever thought about that? Your doctrine makes evangelism completely pointless.
But since you asked, to "torment" is a term that Bible authors used to describe testing.
Where? Don't just tell me things and think that I'm just going to take your word for it. Where are you getting this from?
You see, God is a refiner. God defines us and fixes us. He doesn't say "This guy is FUBAR" and throw them into the garbage.
He refines those who believe in Him. You left that part out. He doesn't refine people who don't want anything to do with Him. That is never taught in scripture.

Basanos speaks about a touchstone. A touchstone is a black siliceous stone used to test the purity of silver and gold. The person would rub the metal on the stone and the color of the streak produced would show what it is. However, this word also means when someone is tortured. That’s because there is a force exerted in torturing someone for them to expose the truth.
This word is used of physical diseases (Matthew 4:24) and those in hell after death (Luke 16:23).
“And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.”
– Luke 16:23
I don't know what you were intending to say here. That person expressed regret at being separated from God and His people in Abraham's bosom. That's why he wanted the beggar Lazarus to be sent to his family to warn them about hell because he didn't want them to end up there and to be separated from God. It's not about torture, it's about sorrow and regret like I already said.
Luke 19:27 “He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my family, 28 for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’
