To be fair, I'm fairly certain he meant "explaining" in the context of your thread's title, i.e., the reason or "source," as you put it, of same sex attraction, which I'm still fuzzy on myself, at least, as far as its being revealed in the video.
I think it's reasonable to assume that explaining why something is harmful is preferable to seeking to justify a harmful practice.
