Abiding in him has another purpose. So we are not ASHAMED when he comes

1 John 2:28
And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming

Why? Again it is doing.

what do we do when we abide in him?

1 John 3:24
Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us

Again, As @Ritajanice said, it is because the spirit is in us
Quote something I said, then agree or disagree, explaining why. Don't start a dozens-of-comments-long "high five comments" chain reaction, which suppresses the discussion, because all people see is "I agree with you when you disagree with the OP" rather than actual careful treatment of the material I set forth in MY thread.

@Rita please bring order to this discussion. Look at how they have flooded my thread with "preaching to the choir", which suppresses the discussion of the material I have set forth. I don't need them bouncing their agreements with one another back and forth.

This is why it’s imperative that we are+Born from Above....,for what are we and what knowledge of the Bible do we have...without the Holy Spirit?
@Rita Here this individual devolves once again into "anyone who disagrees with me doesn't have the Holy Spirit" instead of quoting what I've stated and interacting with that material. Instead, they devolve into "so-and-so is not spiritual, amen, yes brother, amen, yes brother, amen, i agree, woohoo, amen, yes, amen" without treating the material.

Hello Ritajanice, and EG,

There is a verse I was reading earlier from the 1 chapter of Philippians, which speak of the fruit of righteousness.

He was writing to the Philippians, and he wrote saying,
8 God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.

9 And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.

What is interesting to note here, is Pauls prayer is for their love to abound more and even so in knowledge, and depth and insight, that they may be filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ. I believe this is also achieved by abiding in him, which he explained to his chosen disciples at that time speaking and saying, in John 15. (Of course there is day of Christ referencing the coming day of the LORD.)

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

Sorry, to @GracePeace for desiring to share more I do enjoy fellowship to some degree.

It's not relevant. It is tangential. The reason you get off on tangents is because you refuse to quote what I've stated, and show why it is wrong. Instead, you generalize and flood my thread with what ever tangential material you want. Quote what I've stated, then show why I have gotten it wrong.

Yeah, you quoted Romans 8 where it says the carnally minded cannot please God--the same thing you did in another thread, saying that people who do not have the Spirit don't accept things of the Spirit, and that that explained why I disagreed.

Yes, as we have shown through scripture..
You've definitely FLOODED my discussion with tangential inanity, but what you have not done is specifically responded to me.

There are now PAGES of you two just FLOODING my thread with "high fiving" and preaching to one another, not making specific responses to claims I've made.

Brother, this scripture speaks to me , because I was once unregenerate......therefore wouldn’t of had a clue what the word of God was saying....I was unregenerate...therefore wouldn’t of had a clue either, of how to remain in the true vine...Jesus......

Romans 8:7-9

Romans 8:7-9 NKJV

Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not

Yeah, in a previous thread, you, together with many other users, started a very long, and very empty, "high five" and "preaching to the choir" chain of posting images and gifs of beating a dead horse, of beating a dog, which was supposedly an explanation for why I disagreed--"he doesn't have life in him".

This thread Is for discussion and debate so please don’t just add posts with loads of scripture or presume certain things about each other ( especially in prayer ). Using the phrases ‘ they ‘ ‘ them ‘ is actually sitting in judgement of other members taking part in the discussion. Stick to the subject being discussed and be civil to one another.
As you can see, if you read through what has ensued, the users didn't care to listen to what you said; instead, they FLOODED my discussion with dozens of empty or tangential "oh yes, brother" "amen, brother" "yes, i agree, brother", bouncing their pointless congratulations to one another, but not QUOTING what I've said or interacting directly with specific claims I'd made. This is what discussions with them always devolve into. They also post their own material, points they want to make, instead of opening their own threads, and doing that there. They do not interact with specific claims I've made. Then, the "oh yes brother", "high five" comments, emptiness ensues, which further suppresses the material I've put forth and want interaction with.

Since you have placed me on ignore, according to your private message you went out of your way to send to me to let me know you put me on ignore, you are not addressing the topic (which would require you addressing me), so, I would ask that you start your own thread and hold a discussion there instead of commandeering my thread, which is rude and disorderly.
