Seems to me that those things were told to the 11 Apostles. Earlier on in the passages, Jesus shows Himself first to Mary Magdeline, she told the 11 she met Jesus on the road...they did not BELIEVE her...then the two who were walking on the road when realizing the third man who joined them was actually the risen Jesus...they also did as Mary did, told the 11, and the 11 were in UNBELIEF. So, Jesus say's

Since He is Jesus, He knew of their unbelief so, it can be that He was instructing the Apostles of what will follow them IF and only IF they BELIEVE. The original Apostles that walked with Him was who He was addressing. Once they all died, no more were they able to spread the Gospel with the "outward" power of God...healing, protected from snake bites and poison and so on. Once they all died, they were not able to lay hands on another believer to anoint them with these special powers.
Or, of course it could have been meant for every believer but I don't see any of it in all these years happen that way. Maybe in 3rd world countries, as I believe most of them have a much stronger belief and faith in God. Bottom line is that I JUST DON'T KNOW!!! Lol.

Why would you say that Jesus will not return when He has promised to?? I have Christ Life in this world. I do not believe we will be aboding in Heaven but on this earth, and I believe it will be changed drastically when Jesus takes those keys from Satan and reigns. Really at a loss as to how to even respond to your reply...I never tire of "this manna". To me, meat is leaving the rudimentary's of the Word and growing ever more into the Truth of His Word. He deals with each of us as individuals and you can see something in the Word, I can read the same thing and get something totally different from it. He deals with us on a personal level and gives us only what we can handle at the time, IMHO. :)
