I ask again how would you know this scripture?

Our spirit? Maybe you attach certain things to this Word which is not found in God's Word? Maybe you think you have eternal life already? Or an eternal essence of some sort? The truth is far from this. What true believers have is a true understanding of God's Word which enlightens their minds and allows them to live His Word.

Without your eyes and mind being enlightened to the true things of God you will remain asleep in death, meaning your death will be permanent! The irony here in your example is the Masters use of being born again was the very knowledge which enlightened Nicodemus mind! to the need for knowing Christ his savior. No matter what you do or say you will never be able to explain away the need for knowledge & understanding!
