Summary

The function of religion in human society is complex. The part played by religion in psychiatric disorders is even more obscure. Previous literature and theories are divided into two groups: one school believes that intense religiosity is a symptom-complex indicative of psychiatric disorder, while the opposing view is that religious belief in some way acts as a defence mechanism protecting the individual and his psyche.

The present study of 50 Jehovah's Witnesses admitted to the Mental Health Service facilities of Western Australia suggests that members of this section of the community are more likely to be admitted to a psychiatric hospital than the general population. Furthermore, followers of the sect are three times more likely to be diagnosed as suffering from schizophrenia and nearly four times more likely from paranoid schizophrenia than the rest of the population at risk.

These findings suggest that being a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses faith may be a risk factor predisposing to a schizophrenic illness. Further studies would be interesting in investigating whether pre-psychotic people are more likely to join the sect than normal people and what part (if any) membership has in bringing about such a breakdown.

I would love you to post what it is that the Bible doesn’t agree with in my responses. That is what debating is for…to bring out those questions and see who has the answers that agree with the Bible’s entire narrative, not just the cherry picked verses that Christendom provides for their favored doctrines…..the Bible doesn’t exactly say what they want to believe, so let’s get it out on the table and discuss it like adults…..there is no reason to get angry and start throwing tantrums.

And there you have it….if I have corrected the view of even one person, then that leaves them open for at least discussing a subject without emotions getting in the way. We should all allow the Bible to speak for itself…..that way there are no contradictions to have to explain away.
Did you forget that you declared ChristianityBoard's statement of faith Satanic?

LOL…what do you know about Western Australia off the top of your head? Strange that you would pick a study of a vastly unpopulated state. In fact Australia is pretty much only inhabited around its coastline or within 50klm of the coast. The whole of the interior is desert, basically uninhabitable. A large portion of that is in Western Australia. You are grasping at straws here….

As for the video….it made me smile actually that a Protestant would jump ship and become Catholic due to the mention of one particular scripture……so what is that scripture where the preacher failed to answer his own question?

John 19:30….in context reads…..25-30….
“Standing near the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing beside her, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son.” Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.”
So Jesus as the firstborn son, as he was dying, he gave the care of his mother over to the apostle John because his siblings were not yet believers and would not become Christians until after his resurrection. By that time Mary was obviously a widow and it was the firstborn son’s obligation to care for his mother. So he made sure that she would be taken care of spiritually after his death and not in a house of unbelievers.
And there were 3 Marys there at Calvary.…a popular name, as was Jesus. (Yeshua)

It continues…..
“After this, aware that everything had now been completed, and in order that the Scripture might be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I thirst.” A jar filled with sour wine was standing nearby, so they soaked a sponge in the wine on a branch of hyssop and held it up to his lips. When Jesus had taken the wine, he said, “It is finished.” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.” (NCB)

So “aware that everything had now been completed“ after being offered the sour wine Jesus said…”it is finished”….so what was finished? It sates right there in that passage exactly what was completed…..his mission to offer his life for mankind’s sin was accomplished in his death. The memorial of his death is what Jesus told his disciples to keep remembering. He did not mention his resurrection, although it was the means by which he was able to return to heaven after the 40 days he remained on earth to strengthen his devastated apostles for the task ahead.

So in my view, the man who was the subject of your video..…all he had to do was read the context for the answer..…but he got it all wrong……but then how was he not going to do that by jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire…?

Did you forget that you declared ChristianityBoard's statement of faith Satanic?
I disagree with the many statements of faith that exist in the divided mess that is Christendom.
Jesus knew that the teachings of the Pharisees were “from their father the devil” but he taught in their synagogues anyway, until the prevailing attitude against them forced the Christians to take their religion elsewhere….

Who taught the truth and who taught the lies?…..the liars were the most prominent accusers. Jesus found all of his first followers in a religion that had apostatized centuries earlier. Was it a coincidence that Jesus was not sent to the religious leaders whom he sentenced to “Gehenna”, but to “the lost sheep of the house of Israel”? The “lost sheep” accepted his teachings, but those who clung to their old comfortable beliefs, and believed the lies that the Pharisees were promoting, rejected Christ as Messiah.…and consented to his murder. (Matt 27:25)

But to silence a voice with a valid argument just because you don’t like it, or because it disagrees with your own view, doesn’t make you a Christian and me not a Christian. Since we both identify as “Christians”, we can let Jesus be the judge of that. (John 6:65)

History repeats because human nature does not change……strongly entrenched beliefs even if they are not true, are hard to put down.…..the devil counts on it….and history attests to the truth of that.

Now you're denying that you said the Christian Bible doctrine of Hell is Satanic? That would include Christians and ChristianityBoard statement of faith.

Seriously it’s like talking to someone stuck in a revolving door….we are attempting the lawyer tactics now….LOL. Do you call yourself a Christian Jack?……so do I. Who should decide that, do you think? Don’t you think Jesus already knows…? We can let him do his job…or do you think he needs you to do it for him?

There is no “hell” of eternal punishment in the Bible. It’s been explained many times, but you can’t hear anyone over your own protests.…..all religious teachings that do not come from scripture are from the only other source that exists…….

So you just believe whatever you like Jack….it makes no difference to me or anyone else what you think….you might try taking your fingers out of your ears though….knowledge is a wonderful thing….don’t be afraid of it.

Yeah, I keep revolving around the Christian Bible that you constantly attack.
we are attempting the lawyer tactics now….LOL.
You may be but not me. I'm a Bible defender! Tactics? I know WatchTower tactics. They TWIST the Hell out of nearly every verse in the Bible to CHANGE the meaning of what God / Jesus said, just like Satan does.
Do you call yourself a Christian Jack?……so do I.
I'm a LITERAL Bible believer. You follow the WatchTower.
Who should decide that, do you think? Don’t you think Jesus already knows…? We can let him do his job…or do you think he needs you to do it for him?
You're being EVASIVE! Stick with the Scriptures. Or won't the WatchTower let you?
There is no “hell” of eternal punishment in the Bible.
You just called Jesus a liar.

Matthew 25
41 Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:
Revelation 20:10
10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

It’s been explained many times, but you can’t hear anyone over your own protests.…..all religious teachings that do not come from scripture are from the only other source that exists…….
Says the WatchTower!
So you just believe whatever you like Jack…
I quote Scripture, you TWIST Scripture to change the perfectly clear meaning, just like Satan!
it makes no difference to me or anyone else what you think….
Yes it does. That's why you constantly smokescreen to evade Scripture. That's what JW's do.
you might try taking your fingers out of your ears though….knowledge is a wonderful thing….don’t be afraid of it.
Jesus is God Almighty and Hell fire is EVERLASTING and all your JW attacks won't change it.

Jehovah

This article is about the word Jehovah. For the deity, see God in Abrahamic religions. For other uses, see Jehovah (disambiguation).
Jehovah (/dʒɪˈhoʊvə/) is a Latinization of the Hebrew יְהֹוָה‎Yəhōwā, one vocalization of the Tetragrammaton יהוה‎ (YHWH), the proper name of the God of Israel in the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament.[2][3][4] The Tetragrammaton יהוה is considered one of the seven names of God in Judaism and a form of God's name in Christianity.[5][6][7]
"Jehovah" at Exodus 6:3[1] (King James Version)
The consensus among scholars is that the historical vocalization of the Tetragrammaton at the time of the redaction of the Torah (6th century BCE) is most likely Yahweh. The historical vocalization was lost because in Second Temple Judaism, during the 3rd to 2nd centuries BCE, the pronunciation of the Tetragrammaton came to be avoided, being substituted with Adonai ('my Lord'). The Hebrew vowel points of Adonai were added to the Tetragrammaton by the Masoretes, and the resulting form was transliterated around the 12th century CE as Yehowah.[8] The derived forms Iehouah and Jehovah first appeared in the 16th century.
William Tyndale first introduced the vocalization of the Tetragrammaton Jehovah in his translation of Exodus 6:3, and appears in some other early English translations including the Geneva Bible and the King James Version.[9] The United States Conference of Catholic Bishopsstates that to pronounce the Tetragrammaton "it is necessary to introduce vowels that alter the written and spoken forms of the name (i.e. "Yahweh" or "Jehovah")."[10] Jehovahappears in the Old Testament of some widely used translations including the American Standard Version (1901) and Young's Literal Translation (1862, 1899); the New World Translation (1961, 2013) uses Jehovah in both the Old and New Testaments. Jehovah does not appear in most mainstream English translations, some of which use Yahweh but most continue to use "Lord" or "LORD" to represent the Tetragrammaton.[11][12] Mormonsbelieve Jehova to be the name Elohim, God the Father, prior to his birth.

There was no conspiracy to remove God’s name from the Bible. Jehovah was not used until the 16th century.

I support Jesus / God of the Christian Bible Whom the WatchTower DECEITFULLY edited out of the JW bible. Do you agree with Aunty that the ChristianityBoard statement of faith is Satanic?

Seriously....are you going to produce data on the number of Catholic people in such psychiatric facilities.....?
How desperate are you?

Who invented hellfire to scare the pants off people who were denied access to the Bible to read for themselves for centuries? Now, however the truth is available to all, and in my own experience, when the Bible alone is used as the basis for all beliefs, Catholic people are appalled at the lack of Bible knowledge passed on to them. They throw away their catechism, leave the church that lied to them, and embrace the Bible’s truth.

It is plain to see that when you cannot defend, you attack.

Questions have been offered for Catholic people to answer, (pages ago and open for any Catholic to answer) but to date none have even tried to defend beliefs that they know are not from Scripture, but which form the bulk of all Catholic doctrine. If those beliefs do not come from the Bible, they are not genuine, and can never be considered doctrines when proven to come from apostate men......imposters.

You are free to believe whatever you wish, but please don’t pretend that your church teaches anything remotely close to what Jesus and his apostles taught.....

Yahweh = Hebrew--Yeshua=Jesus--We speak English, Our bibles are in English not Hebrew. Thus we use-Jesus not Yeshua, etc with Jehovah.
Psalm 110:1-quoted at Matt 22:44 proves 100% Jesus is not Jehovah.
