How, exactly, does dishonoring one's parents make them guilty of murder, idolatry, theft, Sabbath-breaking, etc.?

Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.

All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
