We see in Isaiah what Satan truly wants...
Isaiah 14:12-14
King James Version (KJV)
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
Worship, that only belongs to God. Sunday worship is just to take away worship from Gods true day of worship, but that's just part of it for Satan as we see he wants more. Ever since its inception in the Garden of Eden, Satan has been attempting to eradicate the worship to God, the sacred time that God instituted to cominuene with man, a time for spiritual closeness with humanity, the Sabbath.
One of Satan’s methods is to subvert and erode trust in God’s law, leading people to doubt the truth of God’s instructions especially in His Commandments. Satan presents God’s law as overly strict and demanding and impossible to obey, and a impediments to true freedom and impeding our rights. Some Christians think as long as it is from the heart, worship or the method or the day does not matter. Satan uses this subtle deception, because it is focused on self, leaving God out of the picture, and opening the door to false worship or away from the Sabbath.
The good things God creates, Satan brings in a counterfeit or tries to put aside and take the worship which belongs to God alone. He sets himself up as a counterfeit to God with his own day, built to turn away people from true worship to false one that allows him to take the place that belongs only to God.
