The Throne in Heaven

4 After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.” 2 At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it. 3 And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and ruby. A rainbow that shone like an emerald encircled the throne. 4 Surrounding the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and seated on them were twenty-four elders. They were dressed in white and had crowns of gold on their heads. 5 From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder. In front of the throne, seven lamps were blazing. These are the seven spirits[a] of God. 6 Also in front of the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal.

In the center, around the throne, were four living creatures, and they were covered with eyes, in front and in back. 7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle. 8 Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying:

“‘Holy, holy, holy
is the Lord God Almighty,’[b]
who was, and is, and is to come.”
9 Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:

11 “You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they were created
and have their being.”

To me, it would be the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, the fullness of God in and through the Word of God, known as the Lord Jesus Christ, as one back together again as it was meant to be. With Jesus no longer being at the right hand of God.

John 14:9 Jesus replied, “Philip, I have been with you all this time, and still you do not know Me? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

Who do you think sits there?

Thank you for your contribution, @th1b.taylor. I believe so as well, I remember that in the Revelation, Yeshua states he would share the throne with his Father, so there has to be something to that.

Revelation 3:21 To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne.

How do we claim to know Jesus Christ and not know that He (THE CHRIST/ANNOINTED ONE, WHOM WE CALL JESUS BECAUSE HE IS ALSO THE SAVIOR, THE FIRST AND LAST, THE KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS, MIGHTY GOD, THE GREAT I AM) is on the throne?

Are not His sheep supposed to be those who hear His voice. So we are supposed to know Him, and He preaches the Kingdom of God (His Kingdom, that His Father up Him in charge) and so if you do indeed know Jesus Christ, and that means hearing from Him personally, then you obviously know that He is the King!!

And He was put on the throne long before, even from the beginning!! So what is the confusion?

Oh I know. It is the part about "sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne." - quoted above from "Revelation 3:21".

But if we indeed talk to Him and listen to Him, then we would know that, right?

But if not let me explain. Jesus explained that He does and says only what His Father tells Him.

Ps 2:6,7 “But as for Me, I have installed My King
Upon Zion, My holy mountain.”
“I will surely tell of the decree of the LORD:
He said to Me, ‘You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You.

So before Ps 2 was written Jesus the Christ and Son of God was installed on the throne. And from the time He was begotten (and He was the first and was before time was made) it was told Him this.

Gen 1:3-5 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light
God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness.
God called the light day, and the darkness He called night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.

Jn 1:4 You know that Jesus is the Light, right? - Jn 1: In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men.

And we know that time is something that we count, right? So He was before the count - "one day". Indeed, He is like the gun that starts a race which we time. The gun that starts the race is before the timing of the race and is indeed the first thing that happens in a race. So Jesus Christ was the First, the beginning, and the plan foretold to Him at that time by His Father was that He was to be the King over all and rule from heaven, which is above all.

So now what does it mean when we read that He is on the throne with His Father?

It means that He listens to His Father and does what is told Him! Indeed, being perfect He does and say only what His Father tells Him. So then nobody knows His Father except Him, and those He shows. Of course He shows them/us the Father by showing Himself (the One who does and says only what the Father tells Him and who is the perfect image of the invisible God.)

Col 1:15,16 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.

So it is that we see Him and hear from Him, and get to know Him personally, and know that He is the King - because since we know Him we also know and see how He rules over the angels and heavenly beings who serve Him (the King). We do see, hear, and experience this, right?

Is 6:1-3 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple.
Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.
And one cried to another and said:
“Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts;
The whole earth is full of His glory!”

We understand what Isaiah was talking about, because we also seek first the Kingdom of God, like told, and so are also ministered to by Him (the Word of God) and also those heavenly beings (the angels) that He sends to us who will inherit, right?

Heb 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?

Of course they are and we understand all this, right?

Dan 8:16 And I heard the voice of a man between the banks of Ulai, and he called out and said, “Gabriel, give this man an understanding of the vision.”

I mean they are fellow workers with us, right?

Re v 19:9,10 Then he *said to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’” And he *said to me, “These are true words of God.”
Then I fell at his feet to worship him. But he *said to me, “Do not do that; I am a fellow servant of yours and your brethren who hold the testimony of Jesus; worship God. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

So we too, like the angels in heaven, hear from the LORD OF LORDS AND KING OF KINGS, and get instructions from Him and want to do them, because we call Him our Lord, and so as He sits on the throne of God, which is where His Father put Him, He gives instructions to us and so we are part of the instructions that come from the throne of God (sit on the throne of God with Him) right?

Yet we also read that to His disciple it is all explained, but to those who do not hear with their spiritual ears, nor see with their spiritual eyes, it will all come to them in parables! We read that right?

Mat 13:10-14 And the disciples came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?”
Jesus answered them, “To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted.
“For whoever has, to him more shall be given, and he will have an abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from him.
“In their case the prophecy of Isaiah is being fulfilled, which says,
‘YOU WILL KEEP ON HEARING, BUT WILL NOT UNDERSTAND;
YOU WILL KEEP ON SEEING, BUT WILL NOT PERCEIVE;

So to those who overcome and open up the door to Him and hear His voice, they will know about what is written, but to others it will always be like in parable and "“In their case the prophecy of Isaiah is being fulfilled, which says,
‘YOU WILL KEEP ON HEARING, BUT WILL NOT UNDERSTAND;
YOU WILL KEEP ON SEEING, BUT WILL NOT PERCEIVE;

So why do we ask who is on the throne???

Jesus Christ is on the throne and He is our Lord - meaning He gives us things to do from the throne of God and that from what He Father told Him, so He is with His Father on the throne and we are with Him getting and performing instructions from the throne also - right?

Who do you think sits there?
Jesus is current occupant. As 1 Cor. 15 points out, once Jesus defeats the last enemy (death) in Rev.20 He yields the throne basck to His Father.
