If you were one of the martyrs would you ask the question? Why would do something like that

That can be true, in verse 9 they are slain for the word of God and their testimony. The fact is nobody is going to be asking questions they already know the answer to, that would be showing a lack of faith.

The fifth seal martyrs asked the question prior to it being written or possibly just after Revelation went to the seven churches at the latest.
You assume they know the answer.

You know what you do when you assume something correct?

I believe the Roman soldiers placed the abomination that made Jerusalem desolate. Not that Jesus was an abomination but the murder of Jesus was the abomination.
No one fled to the mountains when Jesus died. All of the apostles remained in Jerusalem.

Mathew 24
15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:

18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

No one fled anywhere when Jesus died.
John took marry into his house.

The abomination of desolation is an object which people fear and they flee from .They flee in haste terrified by the things they are seeing.

Luke 21
25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

I’m not assuming, vs 9 tells us they had the Word.

You are assuming they didn’t have the Word, when you place this as a future event.
they had what word? the gospel?

Sorry the gospel would not tell them Jesus was going to come back soon.

Your assuming way to much my friend.

Well as 2 Peter 3:8 tells us, it’s an either or type of thing, 1 can be 1,000 or 1,000 can be 1.

I'm sure they didn't flee, I don't think they knew what the abomination of desolation was any more than people today don't know what it is. But I can guarantee you they ran for cover when Psalm 18 was fulfilled.

actually I think they knew better than most peo9ple today know what it is.. Remember it was in their history. It was their temple which was defiled by a pig causing sacrifice and burnt offering to cease.

No, they had the Old Testament. If they would’ve had the New Testament then they would’ve known the answer to the question.

Apparently you know from the New Testament that it’s going to 3.5 years till Christ comes after the question is asked so you contradict yourself when you say “the gospel wouldn’t tell them Jesus was going to come back soon”.

If the fifth seal is future, do you not think people will understand they are the ones under the altar?

I agree, they may not have fully understood what the AOD was but most certainly Luke did, else he wouldn’t have been able to give the instructions he did.

Jesus did not say “when you see this idol”

Not a good idea to add to, or take away from what the Word of God says.

actually I think they knew better than most peo9ple today know what it is.. Remember it was in their history. It was their temple which was defiled by a pig causing sacrifice and burnt offering to cease.
Well they didn't recognize Jesus quoting Psalm 22:1, they thought Jesus was calling on Elijah to save him. Nicodemus, one of the "masters of Israel" didn't even understand what being born again meant.

Actually yes he did

Abomination of desolation literally means an idol which makes desolate..

Maybe you should study some more.

Revelation 22:18-19

King James Version

18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

I'm con fused, more accurate interpretation than what?
Luke 1:3 It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus,

Luke had a “perfect” understanding, meaning he read the book of Daniel and understood, thus was able to write what he did. Matthew and Mark may have just simply wrote what they heard Jesus say without adding the understanding (whoso readeth, let him understand) of the book of Daniel.

Ab abomination which makes desolate

An idol or unclean thing placed in a holy place rendering it unclean

Look it up in any old greek text or lexicon.
