How many were included in the marriage? The two will become one flesh”…a man was to “stick to his wife” not “wives”. God had “yoked” the “two” together as “one flesh”, not many.
And the second and third wife would become one flesh.

Define "spiritual death". Does that mean Adam and Eve no longer had spirits?

RIP, spirit. We're gonna miss you.
Most references in the Bible to a metaphorical death come back to the idea that Israel (the northern half of the country) died. They were killed by the Assyrians as judgment for their apostasy. The prophesy for Israel after that is for resurrection (Eze 37).

That resurrection is accomplished through adoption. When people are adopted they become part of Israel, and the nation that did not exist, suddenly exists again (Hos 1).

So within that framework, "dead" refers to someone who is cut off from his people, those branches who aren't attached to the root (Rom 11). Conversely, "alive" refers to the ones who have been grafted in.

Eph 2 follows this idea - it refers to the Ephesians' adoption in terms of them being brought to life.

Would it be anachronistic for this to refer back to Adam and Eve? They must have lived before the metaphor existed. Well, I guess whoever wrote about them didn't live in their day, but they still must have been earlier than Ezekiel. Ezekiel makes a bunch of references to Genesis.

Somehow, it all comes down to "trees."

This made me laugh….the original command to Adam and his wife was made before sin entered into the world. (Rom 5:12) Things changed after the fall….the number of God’s people was never to overrun the pagans because God‘s power was demonstrated more fully when they were outnumbered. (Judges 7:2-7)
It was never about their numbers.
You really don’t know your Bible…do you?
Some people can read the Bible but not understand it.
The command to be fruitful and multiply was repeated to Noah.
And I disagree about the numbers.
Now it does not take me long to get rude with a Jehovah’s Witness because I consider it a religion of Satan and I am talking to a person destined to hell so lets just end this conversation.

Why not simply accept what scripture declares? Sleep. No where does scripture suggest that the death of sleep is akin to non existence. Lazarus was dead/asleep, according to Jesus. He certainly wasn't in a state of non existence. His family remembered him. As did his many friends, the church, and Jesus Himself. So long as someone remembers a dead person, he exists. Does God forget? Is He not a God of the living?

“(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. ”
Romans 4:17 KJV
What's interesting about this subject Brakelite is the understanding of it ripples throughout the whole Scripture. Failure to understand the death state means you adopt immortality of the soul, which then creates the whole heaven/hell going and then you have Jesus and how that affects his nature, and then you eventually end up with Mary being the Mother of God.

How far are Christians down that road to full apostacy?

Only those who give these posts angry faces will never know!

Taking my right of reply whether you read it or not….

I put someone as biblically illiterate as you are in the first category, which is why I have had you on “ignore” for quite some time. I have a cursory glance now and again, but you talk absolute nonsense, with little to no reference to Scripture, and a lot of personal opinion.

The command to be ‘fruitful and multiply’, repeated to Noah, meant that the original, damaged Adamic genes were still carried over to the rest on mankind. All are still children of Adam. (Rom 5:12)

You can disagree about numbers but the Bible examples are there. God’s power was demonstrated by their lack of numbers, so that Israel would not boast about their own strength in battle but in being hopelessly outnumbered they could only give praise to God for their victories.

It doesn’t take you long to be rude because you have no scriptural come back for any point made to you. I can understand your frustration. Instead of accepting the correction however, you make excuses for holding onto your error….so be it…you have nothing to prove to me….I am not your judge.

I guess those in Jesus’ day who believed differently to what he taught, though his was a religion of satan as well….”by their fruits” Jesus said we would recognise his true disciples….if you have no “self-control” over your rudeness, then perhaps you can work on that along with the other fruit of God’s spirit….”patience”.

You are talking to a person who has no belief in hell, and pities those who have swallowed that satanic lie…..

Jesus will let us both know soon enough who was teaching the truth….and who was ‘delusional‘. (2 Thess 2:9-12)

Whoa. Isnt that a bit presumptive?

I mean no offens but I have been watching this exchange between you two and not taking sides and meaning no offense but you come across as very arrogant. Nobody has all the answers, even you. I've noticed over time that...your position that you take with spiritual matters seems to be motivated by fear, and that's not right.

Maybe I'm wrong and maybe I'm not but that's what I've seen.

I avoid conversing with the Jehovah’s Witnesses because of their kondike beliefs. I have worked with interventionists and families to rescue people from the Jehovah’s Witnesses, mostly teens a little older. When you talk to people that have been brainwashed-programmed by the Jehovah’s Witnesses, you soon realize that if you talk to one of them you have talked to them all. Because it is a programmed rehearsed response. Interventionists will tell you it is same rhetoric you get with other cults.

They weave together their interpretation of the scriptures to fashion their own beliefs, denying the Deity of Christ, the non-existence of Hell, They have their own Bible to support their beliefs. All you have to do is read what they post and you will see tht their interpretations of the scriptures are twisted and so disconnected from the truth. As far as I am concerned the Jehovah’s Witnesses are not Christians. They are just as satanic as the Jim Jones and Branch Dravidians groups.

Law enforcement officers know the abuse that occurs within their families…..Of course abuse occurs elsewhere but their church will cover up these abuses and protect these criminals. Which is why at times law enforcement has to step in and rescue these people. Like a cult people are punished for trying to leave or have left their group.

Yeah the JW dont like me because I ask too hard of questions so they dont come here no more, lol.

I disagree with you that the Branch Dividians were somehow satanic. The government killed all of those people. All the men, all the women and all the children. I can still hear Janet Reno, I take full responsibility...and she's still walking around. I remember that incident like it was yesterday and all of that murder that took place there is well documented.

Because the government got away with it doesnt mean they were in the right. Those people didnt deserve to die. I remember at the time, I was joking around that I should go help them by working the back line for them with some sniper fire, lol. Obviously I was joking and raising a family at the time so I didnt really go. But those people did not deserve to die. Not all of us bought the media's line. Not at all.
WHich is why your comment about them made me go huh? Because I've never heard that they were bad people from anyone else except you and the TV screen.

I agree that the government handled it wrong and should paid big! But they were a cult....not that freedom of religion does not cover being in a cult. That is why we still have the Jehovah's Witnesses. The Branch Davidian did not do anything that the Jehovah's Witnesses have always done.

Whaat? I dont get that. What makes you think they were a cult? Because they were armed to the teeth? That doesnt make an evil cult or else Christianity is a cult too. I saw a bunch of like minded people living together on some sort of ranch. Armed Christians. So I guess I'm a cult too, because I'm armed! lol!

I'd be willing to consider any evidence you might have of cult type activity that they did. But if you post proof, don't make any heresay or personal opinion. Make it proof. I'm open minded and I've been wrong before, so...what'cha got?

Dont start naming petty sins that all are guilty of and fall short of the glory of God, because we already know the Branch dividians were not perfect, just people who did not deserve to die, and people who the Lord shed His blood for.

LOL I hope being armed to the teeth does not make you a cult! I have four machine guns and two sniper rifles and a magazine feed auto-shotgun.

Why do I think that the Branch Davidians were a cult?.....heavy on the think. While the Branch Davidian leader, David Koresh, did not explicitly claim to be God, his followers believed he was a messianic figure, essentially acting as God's representative on Earth, which is why many interpreted his actions as if he considered himself divinely appointed and held a very high, almost god-like status within the group; they did not worship him as a deity, but saw him as the key to salvation and understanding scripture. Here say? I was not there and no video cameras. Allegedly leaders sleep with members wives and children.

Hey you look good in that picture! It just radiates Americana Lol!

I heard that bit about those people in Waco and their sexual exploits and didnt believe it for a seond because...that's what people do and they always try to make all of it sound worse than it probably is to discredit them, change opinions and garner support. It's a play they use right out of the playbook. They even tried it with Trump if you remember!

Got anything else? I remain unconvinced Brother. Those. People. Did. Not Deserve. To. Die...(Coming soon to a neighbrohood near you!)

Gimme a call if your under fire and I'll come help if I can!

I've thought several times that RPG's should be covered under the 2nd Amendment! Grenades too maybe, seeing as how they're only good to pistol ranges, lol. (Not my revolver distances but the semi-autos).
