I just finished first round rough draft/outline of a book and it's off to the editor at the moment.

The first round at the editor is rough....you feel like someone is cutting away portions of your soul and then expected to grow portions back in directions you never knew were missing.

I haven't bothered writing the accompanying portions yet....not till third round editing. Then I'll take a stab at them.

Bibliography gets added during second round editing. Some has been done...but it's going to be a couple weeks.

First round for beta testing/reading should be ready by January if we don't let the holidays interfere too much. Then last round edits/reworking and off to the publishers.

Not sure yet about WHO we will allow to publish or if we will self-publish.

Self publishing is onerous and pretty much a full time job. I don't know that I can tolerate the demands of self-publishing. It's white collar work for a blue collar guy.

And self-publishing means purchasing endorsements. Where getting a publisher means they provide their own endorsement.

Big choices and decisions. But that's bridges to cross later.

“ The Bible is a matchless library of truth.” - Charles Spurgeon

* Have you been to the library of matchless truth today? *

* Curiously enough, I was just looking at it earlier this week: the first Bible given to me, by my paternal grandfather, on June 19, 1964. *

* I’ve experienced it but, up until this evening, I never knew there was a technical term for it. *

In what strikes me as a natural follow-up to the book I just finished reading (A.D. 381), I’m currently reading The Theodosian Code: Studies in the Imperial Law of Late Antiquity, edited by Jill Harries & Ian Wood. [The chapter contributors are Jill Harries, Ian Wood, Boudewjn Sirks, John Matthews, Tony Honore, Simon Corcoran, Judith Evans Grubbs, David Hunt, Mark Vessey, Dafydd Walters and Brian Croke.]

This Imperial Code (Law) went into effect in the eastern half of the Roman Empire in A.D. 438 and is of great relevance and significance to the Church / Christianity in the 5th century.

“‘I don’t have time to read.’

False.

You spend:

* 40 hours working
* 56 hours sleeping
* 7 hours reading

You still have 65 hours.

Time isn’t the issue.
Prioritize yourself, your future.

Read.”
