In what strikes me as a natural follow-up to the book I just finished reading (A.D. 381), I’m currently reading The Theodosian Code: Studies in the Imperial Law of Late Antiquity, edited by Jill Harries & Ian Wood. [The chapter contributors are Jill Harries, Ian Wood, Boudewjn Sirks, John Matthews, Tony Honore, Simon Corcoran, Judith Evans Grubbs, David Hunt, Mark Vessey, Dafydd Walters and Brian Croke.]
This Imperial Code (Law) went into effect in the eastern half of the Roman Empire in A.D. 438 and is of great relevance and significance to the Church / Christianity in the 5th century.
