You are better off then the RCC but like those who trust in idols, you also have your own idol = watchtower and false docrtrines
Another idiotic misrepresentation of Christ's Church.

Exod. 20:16
“You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

My posts are facts. This world is about to find out.
Spoken like a true follower of your false prophet/founder - Charles Taze Russell, who erroneously state, along with leaders of his cult that -
- 1897 - 'Jesus returned to earth in 1874'
- 1908 - 'Jesus' earthly reign will begin in 1914'
- 1918 - "Millions now living will never die"

RUN firm that cult and return home to Christ’s Church.

Matt. 7:15-16

“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them.

Jesus didnt give His authority to Peter. Peter James and John were considered the pillars of the church not one man ( Gat 2:9). Peter was never Pope (A pagan title to begin with). Or if you want to say Bishop of Rome that doesnt work either because Peter was NEVER there. Its even highly questionable whether or not he even died in Rome.
If you were more familiar with Scripture, Jesus clearly gave His authority to Peter. He also gave His authority to the Apostles, although not in as high a degree as Peter.

Read Matt. 16:19. I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

The "keys" are the key (no pun intended) to this passage. The keys indicate a dynastic office of second-in-command that kings in those days had. The second-in-command ran the kingdom when the king was unavailable (off fighting a war, visiting another kingdom, ill, etc.) Whatever this second-in-command bound or loosed (ruled) was upheld by the king upon his return. The symbol of this office was a large key or two, about 2-3 feet long, that the second-in-command carried over his shoulder as a symbol of his office, THIS is exactly what Jesus was setting up in Matt. 16:19.

With regard to the Apostles, reference John 20:19-23.

On the evening of that first day of the week,j when the doors were locked, where the disciples* were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, “Peace be with you.” When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side.* The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again,l “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent Me, so I send you.
And when he had said this, He breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained.

Note that Jesus says, "AS the Father has sent Me, SO I send YOU." How did the Father send Jesus? With ALL heavenly authority, including the authority to forgive sins! And Jesus is DELEGATING His heavenly.authority to the Apostles.

Then, Jesus breathed on them. Only two times in all Scripture does God "breathe" on man. Once in Genesis when He creates Adam, and once here. This is a very important event here, evidently.

Then Jesus tells them, "Whose sins YOU forgive ARE forgiven them, and whose sins YOU retain ARE retained. Again, Jesus is delegating His Godly authority to forgive sins to the Apostles.

I do think however we can make a very good educated guess, at least in this case, as to what it was that Paul was referring to which he had previously spoken to them about. Ithink in context, the holding on of teachings and traditions etc previously taught, was in direct reference to the second coming and the identity of the coming man of sin prior to that great event, and the actual identity of that which was holding up his appearance.

“2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand....
5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? ....
15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. ”
2 Thessalonians 2:2, 5, 15 KJV

In other words, don't accept any nonsense teachings that don't come directly from us, because there are many false prophets and counterfeit writings with our name attached. Remember and stick to only that which we previously spoke about. A reasonable question is often asked, why didn't Paul openly repeat and remind the Thessalonians in writing that which he had previously spoken about? Would it not have clarified much of what the whole chapter was about, and calming their fears? The answer is yes, it would have clarified and reinforced his former teaching, but it would, as many have pointed out, been dangerous to put in writing that which the occupational authorities, and perhaps traitors in the church itself, could have used as evidence for sedition.
Another point which is actually quite obvious, but many overlook, and I'd forgotten. With regards to the identity of that which was "withholding" the rise of the antichrist, it is true that Paul spoke to the Thessalonians previously on this very topic, telling them who was specifically holding back the appearance of coming to power of the man of sin. We know this because all the church fathers knew who it was. They would have heard it in person themselves, whether from descendants of the Thessalonian believers, relatives, or from word of mouth in other churches, but the point is they all agreed. What was holding back the rise of the man of sin and his coming to power was the present pagan Roman power. No other power could arise until pagan Rome was gone. Quite obvious really, unless you have been taught by Jesuits and you accept their declaration that the antichrist is yet to come. Of course they would teach that right? What other power came to universal prominence, rising from the ruins of pagan Rome, other than papal Rome? To confirm what Paul had said, tyne church fathers used the prophecies of Daniel, which of course Paul would have been familiar with also.

Sounds like someone is trying to say everyone is going to Hell but the Catholics.
Well, you wouldn't find many Catholics actually teach that today. Since Vatican 2 the church has taken upon itself a more conciliatory role in regards to that. Words like 'separated brethren' from the more charitable, and 'rebels and renegades' from the more staunch. And no one is talking about steaks and burnt offerings any more.

WRONG again.
An "idol" is something or someone other than God that is worshipped. We only worship God.

"False Apostles"?? We recognize the same Apostles listed in the Bible that ALL Christians do.
More of your false witness . . .

Please remember that the church is built upon Jesus the only Rock and Peter's confession, not Peter Himself (I know you didnt mention this explicitly but its still important). And Jesus gave His authority to all apostles equally. Peter in Scripture was never seen as the sole authority.

I still stand by what I say.

You should be very afraid, for very soon, you will have to give an account to the LORD for placing your trust in idols and false apostles.

Actually, I won’t because Catholics don’t worship idols.

However – YOU’LL have to explain to Him why you repeatedly violated His commandment against bearing false witness against Catholics
Good luck with that . . .

Rev. 21:8

But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and ALL LIARS, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

This is not bearing false witness.........unless you think that God just threw out his law against graven images. You are the ones who bow before Mary statues, pray to Mary before statues and parade around with her in these stupid Marian processions. Like I said only the saved can truly see. you cant because you arent saved

Yeah @ChristinaL, you need to prove that the statues in the RCC have been 'venerated' by the Vatican.

You need to prove that.....................lol
Veneration is not worship, my ignorant friend.

Astronauts and sports figures are venerated.
God is worshipped, Einstein.

Uhhh, "LOL . . .
