Too many try and read the bible to make it fit the way they believe other people should be.Too many try and read the bible and make it fit what they want it to say . That RIGHT THERE be the problem .
Jesus says to first cast the beam out of thine own eye before pointing out the mote in the other's eye.
I believe they call that hypocricy.
And the world is full of it.
Trump isn't good enough because....
Biden isn't good enough because...
Kamala isn't good enough because....
Vance isn't good enough because...
Are any of us good enough?
Why callest thou me good? There is none good but God.
And he determines what's good enough for him.
God chosses whom he will to do whatever pleases him and serves his purpose.
I don't suppose too many christians were thrilled with Paul who was Saul a known assasin of the christian church to become their leader to Christ and the truth.
1Co 1:26
For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
1Co 1:27
But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
1Co 1:28
And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
1Co 1:29
That no flesh should glory in his presence.
You may not like a certain person or a certain religion or even the way society is headed. But everything has a purpose and that is God's.
If Trump becomes president then it is God's will.
If Harris becomes president then it is God's will.
Nothing we do will thwart God's purpose.
We can cry and moan all day about the injustice of it all, but in the end God will fulfill his desire, and our faith is in his willingness that that desire is for our good.
All we can do and should do is be the best that we can be. We can't control other people and what they think or do. All we can do is share with them the knowledge we have been given to share. What they do with it is out of our hands. God will sort it out.
And above all else as brothers and sisters in christ, we should strive to have peace with one another even when we disagree.
That is the greatest weapon the devil has... division.
And in todays world we need to be seeking that unity in faith rather than dividing apart because of differences of opinions.
The only thing in the end that is going to matter is how we loved one another as he has loved us.
All other things will eventually melt away.
Everyone has a role to play in this game of life. And not everyone gets a good part or the leading role. Most are just extras in the crowd watching the parade go by.
It's how we conduct ourselves while watching that parade that is being judged.
You are being watched to see how you react to whatever is put in front of you.
Everything, every word, every person, every circumstance that enters into your life is for your training purposes.
So when something moves you one way or the other you can check yourself to see how you react to situations.
Are you angry? Why are you angry? Does it merit anger? Will anger change anything or just pull you away from love?
I think most of you know I been taking care of dad since he left rehab back in april. He can't walk, he has trouble holding things. He has trouble holding utensils and has to wear a bib. He can't use the comode so I have to change his briefs.
I have a hoyer so I can transfer him from the bed to the recliner. And that's not an easy task. It takes some energy and planning how to get from point A to point B. And sometimes he wants to transfer 3-4 times a day.
I get him out of bed for breakfast, he wants a mid morning nap for 1/2 hour and he wants it in bed. I get him back in the chair for lunch, and he wants another nap in the afternoon. I get him up for dinner and then I put him to bed for the night.
Sometimes we have trouble with his catheter or he gets constipated real bad....
So there are days when my patience wears thin and in my head I get feeling sorry for myself. I wish I could just sleep later in the morning. I wish I didn't have to cook today. I wish he would stay in bed so I wouldn't have to keep breaking my back rolling him from side to side.
But then I have to catch myself and think... what are you going to do when he is gone?
That kind of changes my whole perspective on things. And I ask Jesus for strength and gentleness and patience.
And he is with me every moment of everyday reminding me that what I am doing for my dad I am doing for the Lord.
We all get frustrated at times. Just don't let it get the better of you. Remember why your here and what your purpose is.
It's not to please the world by no means. It is to please the Lord and do the work that he has given you to do with joy in your heart and a smile on your face, even when you feel like crying.
Because even when your crying on the inside, Jesus is there wiping away your tears and showing you that you are doing exactly what you were meant to do in the time that you are here.
It's a good day.
