Dear Stewardofthemystery,
Satan and Christ are both represented by the Sun:
The "sun" mentioned in the three verses below represent Satan:
Isa 24:23 Then the (natural) moon shall be confounded, and the (natural) SUN ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.
Eze 32:7 And when I shall put thee out, I will cover the heaven, and make the stars thereof dark; I will cover the (natural) SUN with a cloud, and the (natural) moon shall not give her light.
Jer 8:2 And they shall spread them before the (natural) SUN, and the (natural) moon, and all the host of heaven (fallen angels), whom they have loved, and whom they have served, and after whom they have walked, and whom they have sought, and whom they have worshipped: they shall not be gathered, nor be buried; they shall be for dung upon the face of the earth.
The "sun" in the three verses below represent Christ:
Psa 84:11 For the LORD God is a (spiritual) SUN and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
Mal 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the (spiritual) SUN of Righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
Mat 17:2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the (spiritual) SUN, and his raiment was white as the light.
The scripture below puts it all together by showing what happens to an Elect believer when they are converted:
Isa 60:19 The (natural) SUN (Satan) shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the (natural) MOON (carnal spiritual nature/bond woman) give light unto thee: but the Lord shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory. 20 Thy (spiritual) SUN (Christ) shall no more go down; neither shall thy (spiritual) MOON (spiritual nature of the Holy Spirit/Freewoman) withdraw itself: for the Lord shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.
The second coming of Christ is when Christ pours out the Latter Rain of the Spirit (Baptism of the Holy Spirit) followed by the Day of the Lord (judgment). This is the conversion event that is being described in Isa 60:19-20.
The conversion event which was experienced by the 120 Jewish Elect on the Day of Pentecost is also described by Peter in the verses below. Notice the similarities concerning the sun and moon:
Acts 2:14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: 15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day. 16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; 17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: 18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: 19 And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke: 20 THE SUN SHALL BE TURNED TO DARKNESS AND THE MOON INTO BLOOD, BEFORE the great and notable Day of the Lord come: 21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
The conversion event is the same event described by Christ in Mat 24:29-31. Again, notice the similarities concerning the sun and moon:
Mat 24:29 Immediately after the (great) tribulation of those days SHALL THE SUN BE DARKENED, AND THE MOON SHALL NOT GIVE IT LIGHT, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
In case you are not aware, all end-time prophecy is teaching on the spiritual events (signs of the times) which lead up to and include the second coming of Christ when He converts each of His Elect.
Tit 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity (Latter Rain of the Spirit), and purify (Day of the Lord/judgment) unto himself a peculiar people , zealous of good works.
The second coming of Christ is a reoccurring event (is, was and will be coming) which happens to each of Christ's Elect before they die. It is not a one-time future event that only happens at the literal end of the age as is commonly taught.
