Scripture: Read Jeremiah 16
The Holy Ghost gave me a word today, Restoration.
So much of Prophecy is balanced between wrath and restoration for example the prophecies that speak of the Captivity of Israel, often were followed by restoration of Israel as a whole.
The church is no different, we who were not a people have become a people, Holy unto God, but like Israel we have wondered off course, too many times, and some of us even now face the fiery trials (Tribulation of the saints). Then there is the adversary who is accusing the Brethren, and many like Job are inflicted with sores to test our faith, and to be a testimony of the efficacy of the blood of the cross to save. Some of us live paycheck to paycheck because we refuse to be cutthroat in the workplace, resulting in a lack of promotions.... Whatever the cause of our Lack and pain, along with the wrath of God on the wicked, there is an underlying current of restoration of the righteous.
And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. (Joel 2:15)
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things. (Matthew 17:11)
There are many who deny the Millennial Kingdom is yet to come, That is often caused by the emphasis in their eschatology on wrath and a lack of emphasis on restoration, which go hand in hand in prophetic scripture. There are those who deny the rapture for this same reason. Or those who deny the restoration of Israel for the same reason. God IS love, not wrath, Even His tribulations and plagues are sent out of Mercy for the individual that they should repent of their ways and turn to Him. When the Wrath of God comes is when repentance is no longer found in Mankind (Revelation 9:20) Up until that moment every trial we face, every plague, every natural disaster is done out of the Love of God and His mercy. Then the wrath comes along with the restoration. Never forget the two Go hand in hand.
David's cry in the Psalms was "vindicate me O Lord...." (Psalm 26:1, Psalm 35:24, Psalm 43:1, Psalm 54:1) Have You prayed for the vindication that is to come on us who have scorned and martyred, and robbed and tortured, and kept in poverty, and chosen Humility over gain? That vindication comes from a loving God and a Just God, who will restore to the righteous sons and daughters what was taken from us. God will restore! Amen! (BTW, this is where the name Eliashib comes from in scripture, One of the high priests in the time of the restoration of Jerusalem in the book of Nehemiah.)
