It is your opinions...or your church's opinions which you are repeating on what those scriptures mean that concern us.Your opinions do not overrule the Scriptures I quote.

Psalm 111:10No-one would argue with you that there is a lake of fire. The objections begin when people claim
You need a reappraisal of your understanding based on Who God is. That is the first most vital step you need to take in considering eternal torment. As I said, the lake of fire is a thing. The question is when, and where, and who goes there and for how long.
- there are sinners now in that lake calling it hell...
- that those sinners don't die believing them to be immortal...
- but worst of all, the entire scenario of eternal torment a direct and catastrophic contradiction to the character of God as revealed in His word, which is blasphemy against His name.
Read exodus 34:5-7 where God Himself appeared to Moses on Mt Sinai and told Moses His name. It described Who God is...what He is like. READ IT SEVERAL TIMES. Ingrain it into your memory banks. That is the God you claim you worship. Now harmonize that with your ideas on ET. Explain the glaring contradiction. Never mind the scripture you repeat and what you think they mean. If those meanings don't harmonize with exodus 34, then don't you think you need to change your ideas?

One opinion of yours is that sinners are immortal and live forever, whereas scripture declares unequivocally that only God is immortal.Quote "my opinions". I defend the Bible. You attack the Bible.
I hope you don't become eternal roommates with this guy!One opinion of yours is that sinners are immortal and live forever, whereas scripture declares unequivocally that only God is immortal.
I don't see eternal mentioned in that parable, not to mention all the other inconsistencies in taking that as a literal description of the after life.I hope you don't become eternal roommates with this guy!
Luke 16:22-25 The rich man died and was buried. 23 And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 Then he cried and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.' 25 But Abraham said, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented.
He's alive in the fire, even tho he died! There's absolute ZERO reason to think that Hell is not eternal!I don't see eternal mentioned in that parable, not to mention all the other inconsistencies in taking that as a literal description of the after life.
Again, you are seeing and understanding the meaning of those scriptures in light of your failure to understand the true character of God. Let me set the record straight for you and everyone else who shares your opinion on ET.He's alive in the fire, even tho he died! There's absolute ZERO reason to think that Hell is not eternal!
Revelation 14:9-11 "If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark in his forehead or in his hand,
10 he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name."
Revelation 20:10
10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
You just said He was gonna burn them alive until they die. Do you read your own posts?Again, you are seeing and understanding the meaning of those scriptures in light of your failure to understand the true character of God. Let me set the record straight for you and everyone else who shares your opinion on ET.
God is not a tyrant, a torturer, a despotic dictator bent on inflicting pain and suffering
So you're right and the Bible is wrong? I just quoted clear Scripture that proves you wrong. Want more?and never ending agony upon those who don't know Him.
Who is the God you believe in? Where is the God Who revealed Himself to Moses, Who and Who demonstrated His true nature through Jesus? Where is that God in your thinking? You just said He was gonna burn them alive until they die. Do you read your own posts?
So you're right and the Bible is wrong? I just quoted clear Scripture that proves you wrong. Want more?
His Name is Jesus, God of the Bible!Who is the God you believe in?
There's more about God's wrath than God's love in the Bible!Where is the God Who revealed Himself to Moses, Who and Who demonstrated His true nature through Jesus? Where is that God in your thinking?
You mean Jesus lied?
"speaking allegorically"No, I mean that you have the IQ of an after-dinner mint.
"speaking allegorically"
Translation: God is wrong and I'm right!
I think Kingdom Hall would welcome you with open arms. You seem to speak the same language when you don't like what God said, allegory, symbolic ...
I'm here to pull people like you out of the fire! Why are you here? You're here to win an argument rather than to share and learn together. Your pride has no limit and so you can NOT accept that your understanding might be even slightly off. There's no point in engaging you further. I hope you seek humility.
Who is the God you believe in?
Mmm. “5 And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. 6 And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, 7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation. ”His Name is Jesus, God of the Bible!
That may be an insult to after-dinner mints. (which I am rather fond of) - LOLNo, I mean that you have the IQ of an after-dinner mint.
Hebrews 1:6-9Mmm. ”
