@Ritajanice,

Can I ask why you tried to help someone when they did not ask for help?

Do you see how that can actually be not helpful? We could have just had a discussion than all of this other stuff, yes the bible is important, and it is the source of medicine for spiritual growth.

I don't see myself as better than you, or over you, but I do like teaching, it's a joy. I have learned the bible for about 6 years going on 7 years now. With ups and downs with addictions from marijuana and meth, but now I am clean and God continues to help me as I go along trusting him.

Maybe we can try again next time, and perhaps sometimes the decision to hold the tongue should be done, and just answer questions and discuss with each other rather casting judgments as though I am not a Christian. Jesus is the Lord and Saviour, and I believe in his death, burial and resurrection.

All in good faith,
Matthew
I posted SCRIPTURE...what aren’t you understanding?

I’m not interested in all this personal stuff you have posted here.

If you post your truth...then you can bet I will challenge you on it...if it’s not the word of God....you can’t stand against his word @MatthewG .....
You said you decide if you want to obey God. NO YOU DONT...if one is truly Born Again.

Acts 5:32

“And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

We LEARN to obey God through the Holy Spirit.....

We learn obedience , walking in faith and trusting God through our helper the Holy Spirit......we are his children....anyway I’m done....I’ll leave you to God...have a nice day.

Okay, it seems that you are not interested in having friendship then.

Well it was nice to try and discuss.

I will have to go ahead and walk away then, cause that is not how the relationship between human beings works.

I think I have to the holy spirit, like Paul said. Despite what people may say, or even think.

1 Corinthians 7:40 In my judgment, she is happier if she stays as she is—and I think that I too have the Spirit of God.

See ya, and all the best, you have a good day to ma'am.

there are some on here who think that people don't have to make any DECISION or CHOOSE, but God DECIDES for them!

God believes and repents for the so called "elect"!

This is UNBIBLICAL HERESY!!! and will save NO sinner
Hello ByGraceThroughFaith,

Have to love them too. Some people can be dead set in their mind on some subjects, and never move. You could call it a lack of openness to experience.

All the best, BGTF, in love,
Matthew

This has got nothing to do with scripture..about obedience....?

Just personal jargon.....that ruins fellowship...try and focus of the topic on hand...

This is just a fruitless post...all about assumptions and self....

I posted scripture...you dismissed it....you refused to discuss the word of God....and yes....you chose to do that...no problem.

1 John 3:24

24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

1 Samuel 15:22 KJV

And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to hearken than the fat of rams.

BGTF,

May we all continue to trust in the way, the truth and the life, even when it is tough, and you may feel alone or perhaps simply no one may listen, just had posted about that over, on this thread, post number 3, Dogmatic Christianity You may find those thoughts interesting, and may have something to add, of course I watched the guys video first.

The coffee got me feeling weird, kind of highish, i think I need to stop drinking all sodas, and coffee and just go completely water for 3/4s of the day...

Love to you,
Matthew

Matt 7:22-23 proves you in error. That is judgement scenario. And Jesus clearly teaches-FEW will find the road that leads off into life ( be saved)--Jesus obedience opened the door to all men. FEW enter through the narrow gate.
Few enter through the narrow gate because few are truly trusting in Jesus Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of their salvation (John 3:15,16,18; 10:9; 14:6; Acts 10:43; 16:31; 26:18; Romans 1:16; 4:5-6 etc..) and instead are trusting in works for salvation. (Matthew 7:22-23)

can a non believer make a decision to love as the law commands?
@Eternally Grateful

Can I ask you what type of love you are referring to, there are 7 definitions of love in the greek?

Only Jesus was able to love as the law commanded. A non-believer without Jesus is not able to love God and love others, in the love which defines God, and that God is. There was a few people in the bible who walked blameless before God, however they were believers, they walked blamelessly in the law, and its a wonderful thing Jesus had fulfilled those commandments today and is the one whom helps us by the Spirit of Christ today.

That is a good question,
Matthew

1 John 2:15-17

King James Version

15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

The law says to love the lord your God

Jesus said the law also says to love your neighbor (anyone who you come in contact with, even if they are your enemy)

And he said anything not done with this love is sin.

so can a non believe perform this type of love?

I am just stating. If Rita disagrees with you she has the right to discuss why she disagrees with you. Just like you have the right to disagree with her and discuss that.

It does not mean she is trying to teach you or you are trying to teach her. It just means you are discussing your ideas and disagreements..

@Eternally Grateful,

Me and her reconciled already.

Thank you for your concern,
