I had you on ignore so I didn't notice your post. I normally have people on ignore who do not believe in the deity or Godhood of Jesus Christ. It may have been a different reason.
Anyway ...I wanted to see where you stood on protecting your wife and children from harm. Simple question.
As far as military ...I suppose it depends. Most of the wars our nation has engaged in have been for reasons of greed and not protecting our safety. It may come down to men AND women being forced into the military now ....which is just evil. The powers that be want to bring down the US, and all these "wars" and threats/rumors of wars is a means to that end. The military as it is and has been for a long time ....is a tool for terrorism.

I would defend my wife and children from harm without resorting to lethal violence.
God requires me to love them and provide for their needs.

Amen!! As a mother who was often in a position that required standing for my children where my husband refused .... I'd say, if I don't put myself in danger for their sakes, I don't truly love them!!

And I'll say right now that I have suffered persecution and continue to suffer persecution because I have come out of the intended purpose that the cult (I was born into) had planned for me. And they threaten my loved ones as well.
I do pray for them. But I pray that God will use me if need be to bring them to repentance, to Christ ...but if they will not turn, that He will remove them however He sees fit. That does NOT mean that I willingly place myself in danger, nor does it mean that I would not place myself between them and my loved ones, or use force if they were asserting themselves against my loved ones. (Stating these things for the benefit if @Matthias.)
I've never had anyone stand up for me and protect me. And honestly, I have zero respect for a male who calls themselves a man who excuses themselves from the responsibility to protect their wife, children, or loved ones. That was Adam's downfall too. He didn't keep the garden. He allowed the serpent (satan) into the garden and stood by while she was deceived.
Love involves this ....and does not exclude it. Are you willing to lay down your life FOR your friends, or loved ones? Jesus said this ...God requires me to love them and provide for their needs.

I have.... and have done it to the point where they were afraid of me. And yet, I have also suffered harm for my refusal to do what they want ...with no man to stand for me. BUT GOD.
Now, tell me ....how would you do it without killing anyone?
Yes, I am ....and that does not negate the fact that God requires certain things of men and women.
I told the man who was coming to my daughter's window at night to take her and force/use her that he'd better not show up again because I'd be waiting for him with a gun ... that's what I did. I wouldn't think twice about aiming right between his legs. That would give him time to cry out to Jesus.
I would do the same, but probably without saying that I would be waiting for him with a gun next time.

Depending on the circumstances, I have done both ...because that wasn't the first, nor the last time I have had to stand up for, protect, or place myself between my children and an aggressor. In fact, I have had to place myself between an aggressor and a grown man who should have done so for me.
