@Hepzibah @Debp ...if you see me posting anything un- healthy...as I’m still learning what is healthy, can you let me know please..as I know that you 2 eat healthy.

I put in dried mango, apparently it’s a healthy snack in moderation?

You might ask your nutritionist about dried fruit. I like some but I read it has alot of sugar.

The Bible does say everything in moderation.

Just take it slowly, and try to eat food as it 'comes from the field' (small portions of dried fruit ok) as this is how God intended us to eat. Proper food. This includes it being organic of course. Organic food can be found at lower prices for example, I found a local market where a farmer said his produce was organic, but he did not have the spare cash to have his farm certified organic.

I asked him how I could know that he was telling the truth and he just said 'taste it' and he was right. You can get box schemes to reduce the price. I cannot manage without my small chest freezer as it enables me to buy my meat from grass fed animals in bulk and freeze extra portions I make so I don't get sick of eating the same dinner all week. You can sometimes get them free from things like Freebay.

I bought 3 *kilos of stewing steak chunks on special offer, used a chopper to mince it then made burgers in a press, used non toxic lining and froze them. So I can have a burger or defrost a few and make mince the next day to last a few days, two dinners then add kidney beans, tomato and herbs and have it with pulse spaghetti.

It takes a while till it becomes automatic.

You can also get organic frozen veggies or fruit for smoothies that save money.

Keep meals simple, and do not try complicated menus till you are used to it.

Had my third portion of the two burgers mince and onions today, adding kidney beans with tomato paste, garlic, chili flakes with pasta and it was delish.

BTW I make thickening for gravy with soy sauce and arrowroot as the gluten free gravy powders do not look very healthy to me. Anyway I prefer to make my own stuff.

I made a chicken pasta salad yesterday, once I got back from the hospital...I also made pea and mint soup.

Chicken Pasta salad...ingredients, I roasted a chicken ,then once cooked I removed all of the skin , then cut it up into small pieces, cooked some fresh pasta, made a really nice dressing to toss the chicken and pasta, sauce= olive oil, honey, natural yogurt, zest of a lemon, orange, juice from lemon and orange, Dijon mustard, it was really nice light and tangy.

I then added toasted almonds, cranberries, mandarin segments ,plus a lot of raw spinach, I gave it a good wash...it tasted so fresh ,light and delicious.

Pea soup, I added, onion, celery, potato, peas, mint leaves, stock cubes( chicken) then water....

Be careful about too much raw spinach. It has a lot of oxalates which can cause kidney stones. Dr. Berg has videos about it. He did say eating some cheese with things that have oxalates helps.

Oh right, I’ve only just started to incorporate it into this chicken salad...I will finish it all off as I hate waste, I won’t eat it very often.

Thanks for that advice Debp.

I was looking up kidney stone videos for a friend at Worthy. Dr. Berg gives a list of things high in oxalates. So I found out I better eat some cheese with my almonds and peanuts....had bought a big jug of trail mix with those nuts. And I better not overdo on them.

I roasted my almonds in my oven, they tasted delicious in this chicken pasta salad....here is a picture....

When I saw my nutritionist on Monday, she told me not to eat cheese, she was really pleased with my progress....my only vice are these lattes...which I have now ceased from buying, she said drink decaf coffee and use oat milk instead of semi skimmed milk....

That recipe sounds good @Ritajanice

I would change it a little to adding more pumpkin seeds which I had sprouted for a few days. They are not easy to find however - the really raw ones, but they are so high in nutrients after sprouting. Perhaps with the sunflower seeds as well.

I found a kilo of sunflower seeds in the back of my storage box, a few years out of date. I sprouted them though and it worked!

Did you ever try to find out, what the first Christians were eating? I checked and it was mostly mediterranian fish diet. There were no such things as rice, potatoes, coffee etc. A lot of fruits, olives and olive oil, fish, bread, some spices, wine... It's very interesting to see, what you could buy for a Denar (daily wage).

I live in Spain - and the food is quite similar (except that nowadays we have pasta, rice, potatoes). But food is not so important for me, its something I have to do (when not fasting). I for my part have no pleasure in going into expensive restaurants. My wife lives on Gombo and Boule (for the moment) and sometimes some meat or dried fish. Who am I, to eat better? I just hope that we can get the f..... visa soon.

Ask her about oxalates. Dr. Berg recommends eating some cheese with high oxalate food because the calcium binds to the oxalates helping to prevent kidney stones.
Yes almonds are very high so I don't eat them.
