Ok. Then explain what you believe the water of John 3:5 to be. Because your post seemed to imply that you think it has something to do with natural birth.![]()
That wasn’t the point.

Hi E,He is EXACTLY WRONG. Water is a metaphor for the Word of God, and in this case more particularly the Gospel. So to be born of water and of the Spirit is to believe the Gospel (water) under the power of the Holy Spirit and thereby receive the New Birth.
THOSE WHO BELIEVE ARE BORN AGAIN
He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:12,13)
THE GOSPEL (WATER) IS THE SEED OF THE NEW BIRTH
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the Word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the Word which by the Gospel is preached unto you. (1 Pet 1:23-25)
Since human birth through amniotic fluid is a given, Jesus was definitely not talking about the obvious.
See post no. 362.Ok. Then explain what you believe the water of John 3:5 to be. Because your post seemed to imply that you think it has something to do with natural birth.
Ok. Here it goes...make sure you get all the scriptures i posted ............that you ignored you been doing pretty good job back tracking
Let’s look at this in context for a minute...See post no. 362.
Mine.
That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the Word (Eph 5:26).But the water is the word of God? How??
Yes,,,I DO understand John 3 this way too.Let’s look at this in context for a minute...
In the first chapter of John, John the Baptist comes on the scene commanding that the Jews be baptized in water... Jn 1:25-31.
The whole region came out to be baptized Mk 1:5. Lk 3:21
The Pharisees didn’t like it. They rejected it. Lk 7:29,30
Jesus also taught baptism just like John....Jn 3:22,23. And everybody started going to Jesus 3:26
4:1-3
So, in light of the context and how much baptism was a part of Johns and Jesus ministry especially as mentioned in these early chapters and seeing how that the Pharisees rejected it.....doesn’t it seem reasonable to believe that Jesus would try and explain the importance of water to a pharisee who rejected water baptism?
Do you understand water baptism to be some kind of "sign" because we are saved by knowing God and His word? That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the Word (Eph 5:26).
The Gospel is the power of God unto salvation (Rom 1:16). Thus the water is the Gospel (the Word of God), and we see this in Ezekiel as "clean water". It should be obvious that water cannot wash away sins, but the Gospel brings conviction to hearts and souls. And when sinners respond to the Gospel with repentance and faith, their sins are remitted, or washed away by the blood of Christ.
Yet for all the alleged “importance” of water, Jesus never actually baptized anyone with physical water himself ... how strange.
We will take it slowly.Ok. Then explain what you believe the water of John 3:5 to be. Because your post seemed to imply that you think it has something to do with natural birth.
Not a thing..We will take it slowly.
What part did you play in your first (natural, physical, involving your mother) birth?
It’s not strange actually. Christ new how man would react. Just like they did in Corinth. Read 1 Cor 1:10-13. They were putting emphasis on who baptized them. Could you imagine if YOU were the one actually baptized by the son of God. Jesus new what people would do with that. (The person that baptized me can do miracles from God. Who baptized you?)Yet for all the alleged “importance” of water, Jesus never actually baptized anyone with physical water himself ... how strange.
I’m still getting this feeling that we’re heading toward sac fluid. We will take it slowly.
What part did you play in your first (natural, physical, involving your mother) birth?
is that the best you can do ? i am still waiting on strong meat instead of your milkI did not IGNORE your scriptures. I did this just to show how misleading and dishonest you can be. That should give people a moment of pause as they deal with you in the future. They should be careful.
Hahaha.is that the best you can do ? i am still waiting on strong meat instead of your milk
The new birth (John 3) does indeed have important parallels with one's natural birth; except it is by the Spirit. We will take it slowly.
What part did you play in your first (natural, physical, involving your mother) birth?
Since you insist on driving the conversation, even when the goal is explaining what MY post really meant and I claim you misunderstood it ...Not a thing..
Now, what part does one play when a person is baptized? Not a thing. Another person does all the work lowering and raising the person out of the water. The person is completely passive just like a regular birth.
In terms of Hebrews 11, the recurring phrase is indeed 'by faith'...'by faith', that deliverance came. You are correct...saved by faith is not scriptural...we are saved by Grace...His Grace towards us...our faith is what grows in us as we hear the Word taught. Scripture does teach that we are all GIVEN a measure of faith as believers...Romans 12:3....
How people come to believe in Jesus is by the preaching of the Gospel of how He loves us enough to die for us...John 6:44 says no man can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them.
Can a person be saved all alone? Nothing is impossible with God and He will find a way.
No, but in times past a lot of babies died during the birth process. To do it right someone needs to help. I hope we are going somewhere with this. If you think that water refers to sac fluid then just go ahead and say it.Since you insist on driving the conversation, even when the goal is explaining what MY post really meant and I claim you misunderstood it ...
Is the mother incapable of giving birth without someone else helping?
all you did was show scriptures then your commentaryHahaha.
I post all the scriptures you gave and referenced exactly where I dealt with them and you respond with....”is that the best you can do”?
Hahaha. That’s good.
