Chapter 11 is about the last four hundred years that many say the Bible says nothing about...The Army you are speaking of is Artexetes Epiphanes around 170 BC, He placed a Pig in the temple, spread pig blood all over the Holy of Holies....This was called the 1st Abomination of Desolate by the Lord. The next Abomination of Desolate does not occur until Daniel's 70th week. you sir are in the wrong time period.

The time of "great tribulation" Jesus showed will be a time opposite of the idea of wars and rumors of war. That's why He said that as long as one hears of wars and rumors of war, the END is not yet. That is NOT about the "abomination of desolation" IDOL, because the AOD happens 1260 days PRIOR to that "days of vengeance"!
