The Kingdom of his God was at hand, and it is for today, not in some distant future!

It is for today!

Since the ascension of Christ into Heaven and indeed by the Day of Pentecost, we have Christ the King in the power of God, sharing his Father's throne, ruling his Kingdom, today!

(Col 1:13) Who delivered us out of the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of His love;
(Col 1:14) in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins;

The Colossians and Paul thought the Kingdom had already come, and they were already in it, with Jesus at the helm, with power, as the right hand of his God.
There is no scripture saying the Kingdom of God is for the distant future. Those that believe this do not understand their own salvation, and what had miraculously occurred within them, and where they are now, in the Kingdom with their lord and savior.

Their salvation and the Kingdom are very much intertwined.

Even the witness on the Island of Patmos, John, realized he was also in the Kingdom where Jesus was ruling as King.

(Rev 1:9) I John, your brother and partaker with you in tribulation and the kingdom and patience of Jesus, was in the isle that is called Patmos, because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

And in:
(Rev 1:5-6) And from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him that loves us and freed us from our sins by his blood, and who made us kings and priests to his God and Father; to him be the glory and the dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Jesus is the ruler, the King of Kings of the earth, He is ruler of the Kingdom of God on earth, today, not in the distant future. And a genuine believer is today in the Kingdom of God as kings and priests to Jesus’ God and is Father.

During Christ’s life, how soon was it until the Kingdom of God was to be established? 3 years or 2003 years, or more?

(Mat 3:2) Repent! For the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
(Luk 4:43) But he said to them: I must preach the good tidings of the kingdom of God to the other cities also; for this is why I was sent.
(Luk 8:1)
And it came to pass soon afterwards, that he went about through cities and villages, preaching and bringing the good tidings of the kingdom of God; and companying with him were the twelve,
(Luk 9:11) But the crowds knew it, and they followed him; and he welcomed them, and spoke to them of the kingdom of God, and those that had need of healing he cured.
(Mar 1:14) Now after John was delivered up, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God,

And Jesus said:
(Mar 1:15) and saying: The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe in the gospel.
Truly repenting and believing the gospel leads one (slated) into the Kingdom of God!

And Jesus said:
(Mat 10:7) And as you go, preach, saying: The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

And Jesus said:
(Mat 6:10) Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
And the Kingdom did arrive, on time around 33 AD, and then sealed by the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD.

And Jesus said:
(Mat 6:33) So seek first His kingdom, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
And again, the Kingdom that was always sought after before Christ, and arrived on time, by his actions.

And Jesus said:
(Luk 16:16) The law and the prophets were until John. From that time the gospel of the kingdom of God is preached, and every man enters violently into it.
That since the preaching of the gospel many are eagerly waiting and standing in the queue for its opening, that occurred within 3-4 years later.

And Jesus said:
(Joh 3:3) Jesus answered and said to him: Truly, truly, I say to you: Except one be born anew, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
(Joh 3:5) Jesus answered: Truly, truly, I say to you: Except one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God!

Jesus was speaking of being reborn first, to then immediately enter into the Kingdom of his Father and once Jesus opened it when he ascended into heaven.

The kingdom of Christ was prophesized to be set up during the Roman Empire per OT scripture….

What does one think Christ is doing in heaven today, besides his role as our high priest and as a type of advocate? Is he just twiddling his thumbs and waiting patiently for thousands of years for his rule to come, to open his Kingdom and only then to translate all reborn human spirits from all ages, into his Father’s Spirit, into his Kingdom?

I would reconsider ones eschatological view if one thinks, without referencing scripture, that the Kingdom has yet to be established, until in some distance future, like in a ‘Star Wars movie’ introduction.

I wonder with this fantastic view of a future Kingdom of God opening, what does one think of their salvation? What has happened after one was truly reborn, on probation for thousands of years, waiting thousands of years to experience and enter into the Kingdom of God? NOT!

How say yea?

Blessings to all....

No bites might indicate no disagreements or waiting to find a loop-hole along the way...?

Continuing on with more OP support.

-----------------------
And from the OT, in Daniel.

(Dan 2:31) You, O king, saw, and behold, a great image. This image, which was mighty, and whose brightness was excellent, stood before you; and its aspect was awesome.

(Dan 2:32) As for this image, its head was of fine gold, its breast and its arms of silver, its belly and its thighs of brass,

(Dan 2:33) its legs of iron, its feet part of iron and part of clay.

(Dan 2:34) You saw until a stone was cut out without hands, which struck the image on its feet that were of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces.

(Dan 2:35) Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken in pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away, so that no place was found for them: and the stone that struck the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

This was the image of 4 kingdoms:

The head of gold => Nebuchadnezzar's kingdom, Babylon.

(Dan 2:37) You, O king, are a king of kings, to whom the God of heaven has given the kingdom, the power, and the strength, and the glory.

The breast and arms of silver => another inferior kingdom after Babylon (v39). This is Persia.

(Dan 2:39) After you shall arise another kingdom inferior to you; and then a third kingdom of brass, which shall rule over all the land.

  • The belly and thighs of brass = another third kingdom ruling all the earth (v39). This is Greece.

  • The legs and feet of iron mixed with clay = > a fourth kingdom, strong as iron, but divided (vv 40,41). This is Rome.
(Dan 2:40) The fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron, because iron breaks in pieces and subdues all things; and as iron that crushes all these, shall it break in pieces and crush.

(Dan 2:41) Then you saw the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, that shall be a divided kingdom; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, because you saw the iron mixed with miry clay.

A stone cut without hands smote the image on the feet and destroyed it. The stone became a mountain and filled the whole earth. This meant that, in the days of those kings (Rome), God would set up a kingdom that would consume the others but would itself never be destroyed (v44).

(Dan 2:44) In the days of those kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed, nor shall its sovereignty be left to another people; it shall crush to powder and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.

Conclusions

The kingdom of Christ must be set up during the Roman Empire. Premillennialists do agree conditionally, that this is the meaning of the dream. Since the Roman Empire has come and gone, we conclude Jesus' kingdom has already been set up.

But since no earthly (with no scriptural support) kingdom began, premillennialists say the Roman Empire must be restored before Jesus' second coming. They argue the feet of iron mixed with clay had ten toes which represent ten kingdoms that will unite to form a revived Roman Empire. Some see the political, Economic and military union of European states as the formation of this new empire. This is quite incredible and wrong!

The entire or whole image represents a period of about 600 years. Yet according to the millennial theory, the toes alone have been waiting 2000 years to form! Further, the Roman Empire ceased to exist centuries ago, so the toes are detached from the body by nearly 2000 years! What is there in the dream or image that represents this time period? Nothing!

Further, Daniel 2 said nothing about ten kingdoms. The toes are never said to represent kingdoms, and the number ten is never even mentioned let alone given any significance. The passage counts the kingdoms involved and there are exactly four, no more (vv 37-40).

Since the fourth empire was the Roman Empire and since Jesus came during that Empire, either the kingdom began as a result of Jesus' first coming or else Daniel is a false prophet!

Millennial Kingdom incredible far-fetched concepts undermine the inspiration of Scripture!

In Daniel Chapter 7: Here is another vision of the same four kingdoms represented as four beasts (vv 3-7): a lion (Babylon), a bear (Persia), a leopard (Greece), and a fourth beast different from the others (Rome). Again people agree about the meaning of these beasts (vv 15-23).

In verses 13,14 - One like a son of man came with clouds to the Ancient of Days and was given glory, dominion, and a kingdom, everlasting dominion, a kingdom never to be destroyed. This is very similar to the vision in Daniel 2.

Note that the kingdom was given when the Son of Man came to God, not when He left God to return to earth!!!!

[Note: The ten horns are part of the fourth beast (v8). They are ten kings in the fourth kingdom (vv 23,24).

They are not ten kingdoms that originate later as millennialists claim. They are kings that reigned while Rome still existed, not 2000 years after it had been destroyed.]

was cut out without hands - This means that the stone was cut away with the help of the feet. With the help of the feet of the evangelists.

It is for today!

Just a thought, with the passing of time we are about to enter the last age of the distant future, which is for a day which can be considered to be today.

If we live in the Kingdom of God now, in this world then the kingdom of God sucks, and is terrible.

This world is NOT the kingdom of God. Satan is the ruler of this world right now and God has allowed that since the cross. The real KoG is coming in the future and will not be anything like this dumpster fire of a "kingdom" we live in now.

I think the Stone, which represents the Messiah symbolically stuck the feet (not the toes) and broke into pieces JUST the two elements WITHIN THE FEET of iron and clay. The stone did not break the or destroy the 4 kingdom image. He did not come to destroy, although the Jews certainly believed He would come and literally destroy the Romans and thus save His people, but God's plan of salvation was not to be a military like event to secure their salvation. He would symbolically separate the clay (His people) that were held within the iron feet of pagan Rome. By symbolically breaking the clay from the iron, He (as the Potter) would be able to select those of His people who would accept Him as their Messiah to preach the Good News to the world. They would be identified in the "Interpretation sequence" verses within 2:41-45 as "Pottery clay." Those of His people who would reject Him, because of their hard heart and God could not mold them, would continue in their pre-cross faith and be referred to as "ceramic clay."

The Kingdom of Christ is a stone that was cut off from the top of the mountain and moved by the feet of the evangelists. When this stone hits the feet of the idol, where the clay of carnal believers is mixed with the iron of atheists, the clay will crack and this whole world will fall apart. The world has not yet collapsed, but we are on the brink of this joyful event.

A Born Again is already in the Kingdom Of God.....which is not of the world.....the Kingdom of God is spiritual , plus it can’t be seen on the earth today, but I can assure you that it’s there.....God is a Living Spirit.we are his spirit children.

The Kingdom Of God has always been here, only I wasn’t a part of it, not until the chosen timing of God...that is when I woke up or came Alive in Gods truth.= Spirit gives birth to spirit...that is when I could see his Kingdom...not with human eyes or ears that I see.....with spiritual eyes and ears that I received, when my spirit became “ Born Again “.

You must be “ Born Again “ to see the Kingdom Of God.....

You evidently believe in another Kingdom, made in the movie studios. The kingdom of God's own making not from your own fleshly desires.

I'm afraid many believe as you, without checking its relevance with the Bible, and their own spiritual condition.

We live today in the Kingdom of corrupted men, in general, as you said like a dumpster fire. That will not be the case in the true Kingdom that the Son will present to his Father, I assure you. Be patient, pray and ensure you are living in God's Kingdom, today.

You can't even keep from contradicting yourself in one small paragraph. We are NOT living in God's kingdom now.

It's not a contradiction at all. The Kingdom of God is growing and alive in Christ today and is maturing today. Not all evil has been disposed of as of yet. Men's hearts are still corrupted, that causes evil in this world. Give it time.

And this changing of the guard is being done, invisibly, in the hearts of men today, despite the many of men in this world of their fallen 'Kingdom.' The latter will eventually be all gone in good time.

Christ rules today in heaven and on the earth, not as a warrior or military soldier as one might want to believe. He rules for the spirit, in believers' hearts, and continues to build his Body of believers. Believers are part of this Kingdom today . It is not a political-military establishment that you might want to think. There are no physical weapons required in this 'quiet' takeover.

One's mindset must change to think in terms of the Kingdom of God, of the spirit and heart, and not in term of evil physical deeds or actions, than seems to ail you so much, from this fallen world.

What do you expect of a Kingdom of God anyway? It is a very serious question.

What the Bible Says About the Kingdom of God that exists today, since the 1st Century AD

From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matthew 4:17)

“My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world.” (John 18:36)

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. (Romans 14:17)

“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.” (Mark 1:15)

“The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed, nor will they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or ‘There!’ for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you.” (Luke 17:21)

For the kingdom of God does not consist in talk but in power. (1 Corinthians 4:20)

So for those that think that Christ will bring a non-Biblical Kingdom of God on earth in the distant future are dead wrong.
Many have be fooled to believe this as the Premillennialist is counting on it and then what about the now existing Kingdom of God spread over the earth today like a fisherman net? Does that disappear somehow to be transformed into a hybrid mankind management affair, of a mix of humans and immortal spirits living together in the same 'plane.'? Not!

“The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed, nor will they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or ‘There!’ for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you.” (Luke 17:21)
And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. (Revelation 11:15)

This will happen at the moment of closing the eastern gate of the Third Temple built in Israel in accordance with the prophecy of Ezekiel. This is the moment of the Second Coming of Christ - Ezekiel 44:2. God will begin to strike the Christian religion and the whole world with the plagues of the 7 vials of wrath. These are internal plagues. The kingdom of this world will become disgusting to those who previously found pleasure in it. Because the "sun" of the Teaching of Jesus Christ will expose the meaninglessness and harmfulness of their daily activities at every step.

The final stage of the defeat of this world will be the 7th vial of wrath, when the city of Yahweh Shammah will appear in Israel - Ezekiel 48:35. There will be no money in this city, there will be no overseers - bishops and rabbis, but the resurrected tribes of Israel will work there for the glory of God.

And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done. (Revelation 16:17)

The vial being poured "into the air" signifies a change in the general socio-political atmosphere of this world. Instead of Satan, the prince of the power of the air, the Spirit of Christ will reign in the atmosphere of this world. The Kingdom of God, which was hidden INSIDE believers, will become MANIFEST as the dominant force in this world.

One should not confuse the kingdom of satan with the kingdom of God. God's kingdom will not have sinners, the unsaved or even satan. Read about it in Rev 21-22.
