The holidays are hard for me, too.

God bless everyone.
So sorry xxxx
Its strange but after the grief I have had that triggers I have found this year the triggers are for the good memories, so time does do some healing, still have the scars from different things ( if you know what I mean ) but the wounds have healed xx
Much love to you for the coming few days xxxxx

This is the first Thanksgiving and Christmas since our son died. It's going to be really hard on The Sweet Lady. :disrelieved:.
Sorry for your loss. But he is giving thanks for where he is now and will be waiting for you. I ask Jesus often to say hi to my family up there, as I imagine their wonderful life in heaven.

Obviously Thursday this week in the U.K. is an ordinary day, but It’s special for most of you here, so I guess I wondered how you will all be celebrating. Also wanted to send out a special ‘ thinking of you ‘ to members who have lost loved ones over this past year. I know how hard I found Christmas that first year when my mum passed.

So do you all get the day off, what we would call a bank holiday. ?
Does the UK have a similar holiday where you give thanks to God aside from Christmas and Easter?

We have harvest festival, earlier in the autumn, but it’s not a big day for most people x

I'm finding that what are happy memories for me trigger sadness in The Sweet Lady. We heal at different rates.

And that's when we are supposed to eat frog legs?
Tastes like chicken.

Had frog legs at a restaurant in SoFla; same one that also served alligator. Despite what I'd heard, ol' Kermit does not taste like chicken. He was kind of greasy and somewhat unpleasant. I'm not going to have frog legs again.

Back in the old days most people got Thanksgiving off, and I imagine many still do, but in our competitive environment, more and more, retail businesses like to stay operational on holidays, it seems to me. I'm retired now and took in a movie on Thanksgiving day.
