The Hebrew for Psalm 139:4 is not totally clear. While the ESV could be the correct translation, other translations say something a bit different. The KJV says, "For [there is] not a word in my tongue, [but], lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether." The ISV says, "Even before I have formed a word with my tongue, you, Lord, know it completely!"
Indeed, yes, that’s the scripture I posted.
Since we have to think before speaking
Who teaches us to do that?
, these seem to say that God does know our current thought before speaking it. Not quite the same as God knowing what I might think in the future. He just knows what I'm currently thinking. That much I can see. Plus it fits with several other verses that indicate God is not sure of what some person or another might do in the future. A few examples:
Thank you for voicing your opinion.
I believe God knows exactly what I’m going to say, do in the future, this is an open discussion , I’m talking about, when we are Born Again, I’m not talking about reading the Bible as a story.
( not saying that you’re doing that).
Do you think God will change his mind after we become Born Again?
Do you think that imperishable seed that we are Born Again of, can be ever taken away?
Even after we received it by divine heart revelation ?
Rich said.
Plus it fits with several other verses that indicate God is not sure of what some person or another might do in the future. A few examples:
It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do unto them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.
The house of Judah, what has the house of Judah got to do with our hearing God, from within our heart/ spirit?
Jer 36:7,
It may be they will present their supplication before the LORD, and will return every one from his evil way: for great [is] the anger and the fury that the LORD hath pronounced against this people.
We aren’t under God’s wrath as spirit children, were under grace.
Ezek 12:3,
Therefore, thou son of man, prepare thee stuff for removing, and remove by day in their sight; and thou shalt remove from thy place to another place in their sight: it may be they will consider, though they [be] a rebellious
Whose he talking to there? His Born Again children?
I can’t see anything there, which refers to God, not seeing what we will say in the future . I’ve just voiced my opinion on the scripture you posted..no more valid than your own opinion.
Hebrews 4:12New King James Version (NKJV) For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword,
piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
We’re Born Again children, in the will of God.?
We’re in the Spirit Of God, our spirit is in God, we’re his spirit children..are you with me?
He’s in our spirit guiding us to do his will all day every day, do you believe that?
We’re under his lead..also imo, if God gives us heart revelation, which imo, is him revealing his future will to our heart, in a certain area, he can show us ,if he chooses to do so......that’s my belief....it can never be thwarted..as it’s Gods will.....God has showed me an area in my future , by divine heart revelation.
It can’t be proved, but, I don’t need to prove it..I just keep looking to God, as he’s preparing me to receive what he showed me, by divine heart revelation....we all have our own testimonies my friend.
Did God not know beforehand , until the day he died, what was coming out of his mouth,Jesus that is?
From the beginning to the end of Jesus ministry..?
God knows beginning to end of s persons life..I’ve just voiced my opinion.
Never try and dismiss another members opinion.took God a long time to get me to understand that..
Nothing wrong in disagreeing with a member,
but, when we tell them that their opinion is wrong..what do you think we have just done to them?
There are also many times where God changes His mind about something because the people changed their behavior. One example of that is God regretting that He made Saul king (1 Sam 15:35)
Not sure what you mean here, not sure what Saul has got to do with us, under the New Covenant.?
We aren’t living in Saul time, I still believe we can have a testimony like he did, on how God made himself known to him, by divine heart revelation.
Can you explain how God can change his mind to his spirit children of today, his Born Again children....how would he relay to his children, that he’s changed his mind?
Never limit God to one’s own understanding.which imo, many of us do.
.
It's usually not a good idea to build a doctrine on just one verse.
May I ask, who is building a doctrine Onjust one verse?
That is especially true when there are many clear verses that say something different and when the interpretation from the original language is not totally clear as is the case for Psalm 139:4.
That is especially true for what
“you” believe doctrine to be saying.
Only the Spirit can teach his children...
You say God changes his mind..ah, but we’re talking about today, aren’t we we?
God teaches us about our behaviour does he not?
We are being conformed into Jesus image, do you think he would change his mind about that, because of our behaviour.?
How do you think God is conforming you or I into the image of Jesus, ?
Do you think that ,by just reading our bible that will happen, or by posting scripture verses.....what must we be, before we can even start to understand scripture ?
Remember what God says about the natural man, how true is that?...
