George Harrison asking the musical question, "What is Life?" Love the bass riff; used to use it as my ringtone.

Yes!This to me means, that we are in the resurrected life of Jesus...we are Alive with him in spirit.
Not sure if this is off-topic or not. (as if I would give a rip... - LOL)What did he mean by killing and destroying the soul?
Agreed,Anen. And that the remedy is NEW spiritual life in Christ. The indwelling Spirit gives spiritual life to our mortal bodies
Trying to put words to a concept for which there are no words?I am trying to convey this idea of spiritual life and death. (as opposed to physical life and death)
How many kinds of life and death are there? He's using physical life and physical death as a metaphor for something else, but what?
LOLTrying to put words to a concept for which there are no words?
You still need a glossary up front to define your terms. How many kinds of life and death are there?
I'm amazed that everyone balks at this.
Life
- Physical life
- Spiritual life
Death
- Physical death
- Spiritual death

One nugget I remember from a long-ago Bible study. Our pastor was leading a study on one of the gospels, and he said one of the reasons Jesus spoke in parables ("The Kingdom of God is like...") is because He was trying to put into words concepts for which we humans have no words.LOL
That's what it feels like.
It seems so obvious to me.
But I struggle to support the idea.

Seems like you have to read between the lines to see it. Here's another one.LOL

Yes.I would say that our spirit is separated from God, as a non believer ,it needs to be resurrected by the Spirit Of God, it needs raising from death to life..just another way of putting it.
It needs to be Born Of God’s Living seed.
LOLSo, you have something in common with Jesus, no matter what they say.
Our spirit is Born Again...which is Alive in our heart, our body houses the Holy Spirit.Yes.
Born again.
Physically or spiritually?
John 3:3-4 NIV
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.[a]”
4 “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked.
“Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!”

Okay, so I postulate we do have a "spirit", whatever THAT is, and it didn't actually die back in the Garden. By "separated", do you mean relationally, i.e. alienated? Busted relationships are something I can relate to.I would say that our spirit is separated from God,
There's something to that. One nugget I remember from a long-ago Bible study. See how much we take for granted? What kind of "dead"? What kind of "alive"?
LOLBusted relationships are something I can related to.
I thought I smelled something. Why the need for spiritual rebirth? Is something dead?
