I think we are talking past each other and perhaps you didn't understand what I said the first time. So I will repeat what I said in a different way this time.
We are discussing 1 Peter 2:9 in the context of 1 Peter 1:1, where Peter addresses his letter to his Jewish kinsmen living abroad.
I will quote 1 Peter 1:1 below and insert the relevant Strong's numbers where appropriate for our discussion.
1 Peter 1:1
To those who reside as aliens [3927], scattered [1290] throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, who are chosen . . .
You mentioned the word "sojourners", which the NASB translates as "reside as aliens" and the Strong's number for that Greek word is [3927]. The word I mentioned is "diaspora", which the NASB translates as "scattered" and the Strong's number for that Greek word is [1290]
I explained earlier that although the figurative use of [3927] speaks about Christians who reside as sojourners on earth, the figurative use of [1290] indicates the Jewish people who live outside of Palestine. The word [1290] is never used to symbolically refer to those who follow Christ.
