I post verses that have us in Christ. I'm not posting verses about Christ in us or before we had the spirit of Christ. The verses I list deal with Christians who are walking in the spirit of Christ.Verse 4 is important as the context of chapter three, talking about breaking the LAWS of God (sins unto death) or "mortal" sins, because the desire to break those laws is what Jesus in verse 5 cleansed out of our nature. We now have the desire to be righteous as in verse 10, the opposite of lawlessness. But the context is not about "venial" sins.
So, chapter 3 is not talking about sins not unto death (venial sins) which are immature fruit of the Spirit. But John in John 15:1-4 still acknowledges 1 John 3:5 in calling us "CLEAN."
I don't know and I don't care. I'm only concerned with staying in the spirit of Christ. And when I'm in the spirit of Christ I am not sinning. This will be the 3rd and the last time I am asking:
Do you sin, period?
Do you believe in the Trinity?
I'm going to take that as you don't know if it's 1 or 2. Forget about Jesus for a minute. Let's see if we can figure out what God is. Let's say he's Spirit. So we can add that to Jesus. Now we have 2. What's the 3rd one?
Those that are unknown to me, yes. I have made it a habit to never do anything against my conscience. Paul made that clear to me to always live with a clear conscience, so I do. It is so simple. It is also the way to abide in Him, and He in me.Do you sin according to any of these senses of sin?

1 John 3 & 5
Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin, for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not.
You didn't ask me that question. I am asking you if you believe in the Trinity.
Yes or no? That I'd all I am looking for. Yes or no.
The point is that even AFTER we have been born again of the Spirit, we will still commit minor sins not unto death. If you don't recognize what TYPE of sin we are talking about in 1 John 3, you will still consider yourself a sinner when we are actually children of God and walking in the light.
This is why some in the church laugh at "sinless perfection," even though 1 John 3:5 is not claiming sinless perfection, ONLY sinlessness. Perfection takes a lifetime, and if ever reached, then they are both sinless and perfect. Jesus doesn't want us to be merely sinless, but to also bear fruit unto perfection. and holiness.
How do you know if you are abiding in Him, if you don't know what the criteria is? We first become righteous before we can become perfect. So what makes us KNOW that we are righteous as the first step?I don't follow what is in your mind and I think you don't follow what's in mine. The verses I post say whosoever abideth in him sinneth not. They don't say anything about perfection.

1 John 1:9I don't know and I don't care.
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
So you don't confess your sins because you don't care if you sin?
Were you in the spirit of Christ when you said you didn't care if you sinned?I don't know and I don't care. I'm only concerned with staying in the spirit of Christ. And when I'm in the spirit of Christ I am not sinning.
Do you know of anyone else sharing this belief with you?I don't believe in confessing sins.
I think it's possible not to sin anymore - I think that's the goal. Did I say that I don't sin anymore?Matthew 5:
1 Corinthians 10:
Theoretically, it is possible to live a sinless life. In practice, Romans 7:
By the grace of God, when we fail, we confess and repent. God will forgive. We can only take it one day at a time. Hopefully, our spiritual condition next year will be better this year.
1 John 3:
We are encouraged in Genesis 5:
