Only a Born Again has the Spirit of God.
As his word says.

1 Corinthians 2:14-16

1 Corinthians 2:14-16 GNBUK

Whoever does not have the Spirit cannot receive the gifts that come from God's Spirit. Such people really do not understand them; they are nonsense to them, because their value can be judged only on a spiritual basis. Whoever has the Spirit, however, is able to judge the value of everything, but no one is able to judge him. As the scripture says: “Who knows the mind of the Lord? Who is able to give him advice?” We, however, have the mind of Christ.
Nope, only those who remain in Him, by, continually obeying Him, receive the eternal life / Spirit that is only located in Him (1 Jn 2:28, 3:23,24, 5;11, 21).

A Born Again abides in the vine...as they were grafted in by God....those who think they must “ work” to stay abiding in the vine......are desperately working for salvation...it’s really sad to see / read and hear this....because they have no peace in their hearts.

Praying that God brings them to his “ Living Truth”...

Nope, those who get blotted out, bc they don't remain in Him, bc they don't obey Him, aren't remembered (Ez 3:20).

Nope, or else there wouldn't be branches that get thrown in the fire (Jn 15)--and the grafted in Gentiles wouldn't have been told they can be cut off for unbelief (Ro 11).

We die to self as we learn to abide in the vine...the Holy Spirit shows us, we can’t bear fruit without him....we are nothing without him.

The Holy Spirit who birthed us into Christ, keeps us abiding in the vine....he shows the utmost importance of dying to “ Self”.....

There is so much life, when we abide in the vine....SELF is the biggest hurdle , that hinders the work of the Holy Spirit in us....God has it all under control though.....he is the only one who can penetrate our hearts to that truth.

Self is a darn nuisance...and serves no purpose....

The wonderful truth that we the Born Again know....God’s Mercy and Grace has saved us from eternal damnation!!...Praise God for that!!

If He kept us all in the Vine, no branches would be cut off, so, no, this is false.

As we the Born Again know...the branches that are thrown into the fire...were NEVER attached to the true vine...by being birthed in the Spirit.

They were the ones who attached themselves....that’s why it’s imperative that one is Born Again.....Born of God.

Beware of these false teachers who teach their own words, taking all the credit away from Almighty God.

Makes no sense, branches don't appear on any Vine, they issue from the Vine, because they have life, but we see that abiding is by obeying, so, some don't obey, and they are cut off.

Based on outward appearances at any given moment, it may be difficult to tell genuine believers (connected in vital unity with the True Vine) from those who have merely attached themselves to some of the trappings of Christianity. However, time will tell the difference, because the genuine believer attached to the True Vine will bear fruit. A false professor appears to be attached but does not bear fruit, and it’s the lack of fruit that shows a branch is not receiving the fruit-bearing energy that comes from attachment to the Vine. Regardless of how attached this branch may appear to be on the surface, it is lacking the one absolute evidence of attachment—fruit! That “branch” should not console himself with false notions that he is attached, because his lack of fruit bears condemning evidence against him. In this case, the branch was never really attached in the first place. The metaphor (or allegory) of the vine and the branches can only be pressed so far.

Branches grow out from a Vine, but they are warned to abide (1 Jn 2:28), not be led away by idols (1 Jn 5:21), but to obey, such that they continue receiving the substance that is in the Vine, which is the eternal life, the Spirit (1 Jn 3:23,24, 5:11); if not, they do not bear fruit and so are cut off and thrown in the fire (Jn 15).

A member posted, being Born Again is irrelevant to abiding in the vine?

So how would they be able to remain in the vine, without the rebirth?

They actually believe they keep themselves abiding in the vine....therefore false teachings and works based salvation.

You cannot abide in the true vine unless one is Born Again, by the Spirit of God...they have denied this....therefore false and counterfeit Christian.

Some people don't like it because they read Scripture and don't like it when people want them to veer from Scripture.

The reason it is "irrelevant" was already explained: it isn't the end-all be-all. Sure, being born again makes you a branch, but abiding is what is necessary, and that is by continually obeying (1 Jn 3:23,24).

LOL In other words, "The Word of God can only be interpreted in a manner that works for my view--when the allegory works against my view, that is false teaching."

Amazing how that works!

I invite anyone to read through the discussion and judge for themselves whether you have made a single point that hasn't been soundly refuted.

Does OSAS believe in sanctification? We are saved by Christ--justification. We become a new creature and want to do His will---sanctification.

Does OSAS leave off the second part? Seems to me that if did not wish to continue as a new creature, that He wouldn't make us do it, and we would have lost our first love. Salvation is no longer given to us, because we weren't willing to abide in Him

Being Born Again...gets you into heaven...we are true children of God....those who play that down....don’t imo understand the rebirth.
Well, if this means you don't need to abide to have eternal life, the Scripture would not agree.
