The Hebrew word-Sheol=The Greek word Hades, both translate the grave--Hades= hell. The grave is where all go that die, all thought stops.
This is wrong too. Actual linguistics do not translate Hades to Hell or grave. Hades was a Greco-Roman god the presided over an underworld prison also called Hades....it was the closest Greek word available so Christian writers used it, because there was no word in the Hebrew or Greek for a fiery place of eternal punishment so they borrowed Greek word Hades.

Again because there was no actual word for Hell back then, Christ used the illustration of a burning trash dump in the Valley of Hinnom (Gehenna) .

Are people that go there stuck there forever?
When we have an erroneous understanding of God we interpret any coke bottle thrown out of an aircraft as something other than it is. Questions are then asked from the vantage point of that faulty understanding. Arguments develop that in themselves are objectively pointless.

The question arises, where can we find or how do we arrive at an accurate understanding? The disciples were in such a boat.

We can see from the exchange Jesus had with the guys on the road to Emmaus that how they saw was a direct result of their miserable disposition when Jesus met them. They had been educated with the same faulty assumptions the OT prophets had. It took Jesus to lift the lid on that.....and my, how it changed everything!

What assumptions do we take to the reading of the scriptures? Have we learned to view, to understand these writings from the perspective of the purpose of Jesus?

On top of all of this Satan could only accuse in face of the Jewish Law. That is gone now today... and so is Satan.

The only adversity you face is you yourself and I suppose the influences of the world that lead to the pride of life, the lust of the eyes, and the lust of the flesh. (Not others, or Satan).
I have heard of this belief. Particularly with Cessationists....which believe no spiritual things or miracle occur outside of the biblical period....But I do not agree with either.

Gotta ask me if I believe the spiritual things or miracles still happen today.

The whole bible experience is subjective... with objectivity in the mix. Including the only thing that pleases God, - Faith.

It doesn't matter what one may agree with or disagree with; that is fine either way.

There may be many people who do not believe that even Jesus Christ called Satan - the Prince of this world that would be cast out; and eventually put in his place the lake of fire forever and ever no longer to be dealt with again.

If you think about what Yeshua, experienced when Satan said hey, just worship me ill give you all the kingdoms of the world.

Apperently Satan at one point had the whole world under his arm... of course before God as promised had his head crushed as per Genesis.

Not anymore, with Yeshua and his victory but many downplay that to, or dont have faith enough to believe it. God is the one whom is the Authority, and he has reconciled the world back to himself.

Yes, I consider myself a Christian, for lack of a better descriptor.
Some have opted for "Christ follower". I don't care for that one either.
None of them are wandering homeless from town to town
casting out demons and healing the sick.

Anyway... the short answer is "Yes, I consider myself a Christian."
Curious to see where you are going with this.
Better buckle up, might be a bumpy ride. - LOL
Well, a Christian who doesn't believe in the inerrancy of scripture is an oxymoron. LOL

'inerrancy' or 'errancy' requires defining.

One can say the earth is flat and who can argue with you if you're in Kansas but you'd probably have a hard time convincing the folk in Switzerland.

Understanding that definition is contingent to context hopefully does away with useless and endlessly foolish arguments.

People dont know what people fully believe unless they ask them, that is the point that was trying to be conveyed.

Just cause one person or group of people believes one way, doesnt means someone else may also include or not include other things either they do believe in or they do not.

Hope you understood, as not sure how I could be any clearer, Grail.

Why did you say that? Do you care about church? When it comes to the material building, I dont.

Its all about faith and love or is it about us amd what one believes? what is important to you?

Satan has been busy!

2 Corinthians 11
14 Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness,

Isaiah stood before God in what I believe was a vision, and in that vision, God placed a coal on his lips. It would not have harmed him anymore than we are physically harmed in a dream. That is different from the story Jesus gave of the rich man whose physical body was dead and his soul was literally in hell.
Abraham explains to the Rich Man why he is there.
Do you recall the reason Jesus gave for the Rich man to be in hell?
Does that match your doctrine of why someone would be in hell?
If not, why would Jesus give that reason?

That's funny, thanks.
How do you define biblical inerrancy?

Do you mean the original manuscripts? (which are long gone)
The manuscript copies and fragments chosen by the translators? (from thousands of copies of copies of copies...)
Or the translations that were voted on and selected by committee in the 4th century? (the canons)
And which of the three canons is the inerrant one?

Do you know where the Bible came from?
Are you familiar with the term "Textual Criticism"?
Which of the three translation methods produced an inerrant Bible?

Majority Text vs. Critical Text vs. Textus Receptus – Textual Criticism 101

Majority Text vs. Critical Text vs. Textus Receptus - Textual Criticism 101 - Berean Patriot

How is it your teachers have this truth and nobody else does? Where did they get this truth?
The truth is there. But so is this-2Thess 2:3=99% of all religion claiming to be christian. God is the source of all his truth.
