A theme spoken throughout the Bible in many different ways speaks to the Israelites ( and us) about not conforming to the ways of the world.Sorry, but this has nothing to do with why the fir trees rejoice when he is laid down.
Do you not understand that Jeremiah 10 is talking about customs of the people that have to do with the fir tree. You can't read the following and figure out what those customs are?
Jeremiah 10
3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.
Does anyone understand this?
Also we can see many people that appear harmless, not evil doers per se but not really doing any good either - like the "luke warm" Laodicians that God wanted to vomit out of His mouth. So the message again is don't be drawn in by these folks either, Satan is subtle with hsi deceptions sometimes.
*** Caution: If you are implying that these verses have something to do with Christmas trees (a prophetic utterance in the 6th century BC about a tradition that would be started 1200 years in the future), I'll have a good laugh and leave the conversation.
