You don't allow inquirers at your church?

/
Of course sincere seekers are welcome to seek. But we need to understand that fellowship is not the same thing as answering inquiries and ministering to lost souls in hopes that they will be saved. And if the word of God and true gospel is being preached, however kindly and lovingly, or whether gravely and seriously, just be prepared of course for some (or even many or most?) of those seekers to leave, just as they did with Jesus. And we are not greater than He.

This has never been about numbers....this is about the elect....casting the net and seeking and saving those who are "appointed to salvation". Yes, that is in the bible. Jesus did not alter His gospel and word of God in order to appease people and bring in larger numbers. No, on the contrary, there were even times when He appeared to be making it more difficult for people on purpose in order to TEST and try them!

There's a scripture coming to mind....about teaching God's laws to your "children" (newer believers) night and day, but I can't find it at the moment. But it conveys the idea of the importance of teaching God's word to them every moment possible.
Like this one?

Deuteronomy 6:6-7 NIV
These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.
7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and
when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

So, God chose those he would burn forever in hell? (with no hope of escape) Seems sadistic.

Like the broad and narrow way puzzle? "Few there be that find it." ???
God making sport of our eternal souls with a high-stakes puzzle?

"Oh, too bad, you were so close! Oh well, better luck next time.
Oh wait, there won't be a next time. Ha, ha, ha..." (evil laugh)

So, you don't believe a Christian can have a demon?
I have seen MANY Christians delivered of demons.

/
Sorry but nar preachers , preachers like todd white , THEY AINT EVEN CHRISTAIN AT ALL
so yeah we got that to remember .
I hear and have heard all kinds of stories from men who claim , AS A CHRISTAIN they were possesed
and had many demons cast out of them and they always are big on their demon casting out ministry
WHICH I MIGHT ADD has made them very popular and very RICH TOO .
YET not a one of them i examined even remotely appears to be TRUE CHRISTAIN .

No, you're thinking like a man, humanistically....but God's ways are higher. He tests hearts to see who really has faith in Him. Like when Jesus spoke about needing to eat His body and drink His blood....knowing that would be very offensive to many of the Jews at that time, and many stopped following Him at that point. But those with faith who really wanted Him were not put off.

I agree it appears as the way of becoming a believer and holding onto that faith may seem hard but God wants a tried, proven devout ppls to follow him.
It is by, in and of his word we must live taking the hard with the soft, the bitter with the sweet for all of God's words are sound doctrine!

It happens when they receive Christ. Of course they are forgiven then. And received into fellowship. But not until then.

Fellowship is not really something we DO so much, but rather it's more something that born again believers HAVE with one another....if we have Christ in us by His Spirit, because His Spirit is the source of fellowship. We are told not to have fellowship with unbelievers. That would be a false fellowship and lead to compromise and dilution and defiling of the gospel. Participation in church life per se is not for the world, it is for believers. And even among believers there are circumstances when we are not to fellowship with someone.

2Co 6:14-18

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

2Jo 1:10-11

If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:

For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

1Co 5:1-2

It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.

And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.

2Ti 3:5-8

Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

Amen.

Peter helped us to understand when Jesus asked him, Peter said, We know you have the words of eternal life..

It is the spirit who gives life. the words he spoke were spirit and life..

Thus making sport of our eternal souls? Pushing people away?
I don't think spiritualizing it makes it okay.

Rom 9:18-24

Therefore He has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens.

You will say to me then, “Why does He still find fault? For who has resisted His will?”

But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, “Why have you made me like this?”

Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor?

What if God, wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction,

and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory,

even us whom He called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?

Who are we indeed? He is the Lord God ALMIGHTY with no beginning and no end, and we’re little specks of dust flying around the solar system for such a brief time before we’re gone. But if someone’s heart and attitude are right towards He who created them, He just might show them mercy. Who does God esteem? He who TREMBLES at His word. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, oh yes it is. Because that is being rightly related to Him.

You really shouldn't devalue yourself this way. IMHO

Are we not created in the image of God?
We would never consider our own children to be "little specks of dust flying around".
Even if that may be the case at times. - LOL

"But if someone’s heart and attitude are right towards He who created them, He just might show them mercy."- Lizbeth
Again, is our loving Father God a cosmic tyrant? "Grovel before ME and I MIGHT just show you mercy."

"Who does God esteem? He who TREMBLES at His word." - Lizbeth
LOL - Why should God esteem anyone like that? Does he HATE anyone with a backbone?
Perhaps he should have created us as invertebrates. - LOL

Myself I tentatively am leaning to the view that the lake of fire/second death, means death/annihilation of the soul, not eternal torment. "Fear Him who can destroy both body and soul in hell". "The wages of sin is death."

Compared to God, we are nothing. What a marvel and a blessing that He loves us. "What is man that He is mindful of us?" (says the bible) Not because of who we are, but because of who He is.

Oh yes, that should be OUR attitude. It occurs to me you might not know the bible very well so I'm going to start letting you know whenever I reference the bible. This is not the first time you have questioned and argued against the direct words of God. It's the bible that says He esteems those who tremble at His word. You know, a great king only draws into intimacy with Him those who He can trust, because He knows they fear and esteem HIM over themself and anybody or anything.

There's a kind of paradox....the only time we don't need to fear Him, is when we fear Him. Maybe perfect love is when we fear and esteem Him perfectly, that's why it casts out fear. WHOOEEE! That makes me dance inside! :joyful:

I would caution you that Annihilationism is the gateway drug to full-blown Christian Universalism.
