Anyone who has worked in Corrections has seen the demonically influenced. Seems the last stages of spiritual decline are incarceration, institutionalization, and death.
Welcome to the forum.
I used to live not far away from you in Ladora, IA.
In a suburb north of Waterloo called Cedar Falls.

Luke 4:18-19 NIV
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

I tell us all that many who have sat in certain churches have indeed seen the demonically influenced at work .
Only many know this not and call it GOD and LOVE . WHEN ITS NIETHER GOD OR LOVE . its coming of satan
its come from the world and it has taken captive many churches to a lie . Yah , it can surely be seen
within even Christendom itself . It has long taken captive the education system , political realm
science , philopsphies of men . You see the serpent never appraoches to decieve Looking like a big ol monster
but rather cometh in as though its bringing light to our eyes and very kind and subtile it approaches .
But beware it , for though it cometh as a small loving child , ITS A MONSTER
for though it cometh in as though it be love and be light , IT IS DARKNESS
and the end of this is THE SECOND Death . JUST thought it good to remind us all about this too .

Wish I could post more than a "like" to your post, you have a well grounded faith and I believe relationship with Him. I have heard testimonies of NDE's that the little nagging voice urging sin or denial of the truth of the Gospel isn't there, but returns when they are returned to this side of the veil.

Christians tend to treat LGBTQ as if it is a singular thing. It's not.
It's a very complex subject that the church has, for the most part, swept under the rug.

Those who have stepped up to be inclusive have taken the heat for it.
And there is even a broad spectrum of how inclusion can play out.
LGBTQ is not a B+W issue. There is a whole spectrum of gray to be considered.

I have known for some time that this is an issue that the church needs to come to grips with.
My own wake-up call came when I went back to college in my 50's to study interior design.
Among my classmates I discovered gay Christians. Say what? How could this be?
For this straight, white, married, Protestant, evangelical male, it was quite a shock.

In my interior design class, I estimated that 10% were males. The rest were female.
Of those males I estimated that half were probably gay. So, an estimated 5% gay students.
My instructors even cautioned me that if I worked as an interior designer,
I would likely be accused of being gay.

So, I had to ask myself, WWJD with LGBTQ?

Because of another topic on the forum that has a title that asks the WRONG question,
I wanted to launch a topic that would ask the right questions.

I have done my homework as part of that other topic.
And I am still making some discoveries about the subject.
Here are a few.

- There is a 40% suicide rate among gays, which is driven by societal rejection. (genocide)
- Parental testimony shows children indicating a transgender preference as early as 3 to 5 years old.
- 1 in 1,500 children are born intersex, meaning either both, or ambiguous genitalia.
- Birth sex is determined by what is between your legs; gender identity is determined by what is between your ears.
- Christian gays that come out are at risk of losing, family, friends, church, employment, housing...
- Many gay couples are monogamous, and great contributors to our society.

There are other factors as well. This is a place to discuss them. Thanks.

WWJD with LGBTQ?

Blessings! What would Jesus do? I know that Jesus would see the same thing I do as He is with me. When ever I have been around a gay person I see a visitor that the person is not aware of. Thus the source of the unnatural lust. And that source is fully aware of Christ in me. Take note how many demons came forth in people when Jesus was here in the flesh. You say Christian gay people, and I say not so. Many claim to Christian and yet are not born from above. When one is truly born from above, it is they whom The Holy Spirit has entered in and made His abode with them. And when The Holy Spirit truly enters in, any unclean thing exits out before Him quickly as He is Holy. So it is with all types of visitors that inhabit man. The Lord loves all His creation, and desires that none should perish. So today you see that the enemy has been quite busy since his original temptation in the garden. Envy and jealousy, and hate in the creation of man.

Lots of housecleaning still left to do after Christ enters. IMO
People keep stuff in backrooms and closets (gay) and in dark corners of the basement and attic.

Hmmm. Well let's start with the Holy SPIRIT, for starters. And the things that can only be spiritually discerned? Then there is the kingdom (realm) that is within/among us.....can you see it, touch it, or taste it? And New Jerusalem...the city that is ABOVE...? What about the powers and principalities in HIGH PLACES that we are wrestling against.......who are ruled by the prince of the POWER OF THE AIR. Shamans in various cultures have know about a dark spiritual realm for eons....to their hurt and the hurt of those who follow them. Demons manifest at times....there are many many believers who have seen them manifest and come out of people. They can often be discerned when they are not manifesting as well.

2Co 4:17
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.

2Co 4:18
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
I wouldn't mind the discussion, but I believe the Trinity as a topic is off-limits here. And I can't go there without, well... going there.

As I said, many claim to be Christian but That Day will reveal the truth.
What do we do until then? Assume no Christian has a demon?
What is empowering a false prophet?

You should not down play The Holy Spirit.
I'm not.
It would be rare for a person to surrender fully to the HS at conversion.

Being "conformed to the Image of the Son" is a process, some say we will never reach the perfection of Him while we are here. I know the Father said "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased", at the baptism of John and I know nothing like that happened when I was baptized.

What did happen when you were baptized?
(even of it was over time)

I don't recall anything but that was 60+ years ago, and I at that time might not have been aware if Holy Spirit had manifested. I do know I had watched a 50's pastor preaching about the divine prayer language, as I played outside and was speaking to the Father I tried it and then Holy Spirit strongly and palpably manifested, years later I attended a conference on Holy Spirit in Minneapolis, the group I was with prayed for me to receive and received the guidance I already had it, I just was't using it, the Father brought back to my remembrance that earlier experience.
Holy Spirit now manifests 24/7/365 in my life.

Indeed, is it not for this reason Paul warned us here?
1th 5:19

Quench not the Spirit.
Agree.
Do not quench the Spirit.

As you know, it doesn't all come at once.
It's a process. Brick by brick; precept on precept.
Like a wall, these things build on one another.

You can't have that thing on row three on brick five
without laying all the bricks to get to that point.
