Its easily faked - until someone shows up who can interrupt tongues as the bible says there should be I am not buying it.Its just babble unless it can be interrupted.Funny that person can never be found to interrupt when tongues are claimed to be spoken.

1 Corinthians 14:26-28

26 What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up. 27 If anyone speaks in a tongue, two—or at the most three—should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret. 28 If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and to God.

Believe what you want, at your own loss. Did you read the OP?
That only applies to #3 in the list below. (interpretation)
The other four uses do NOT require interpretation. (obviously)

Five Uses of Tongues
1) Personal prayer language (speaking to God) See Acts 1:5, 1 Corinthians 14:2 and Acts 19:6
2) Intercessory prayer language (prayer in the Spirit) See Romans 8:26
3) Congregational message (preferably with interpretation) 1 Corinthians 14
4) Worship language (singing in tongues) See 1 Corinthians 14:15
5) Evangelistic language (language of the hearers) Like the outpouring at Pentecost. See Acts 2

Ignorance kiss and hold hands - love it!
Psam 2
Therefore be wise, O kings;
be admonished, O judges of the earth.
Serve the LORD with fear,
and rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the Son, lest He be angry
and you perish in your rebellion,

when His wrath ignites in an instant.
Blessed are all who take refuge in Him.

Romans 16:16 - Greet one another with a holy kiss.

But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him to his feet, and he stood up.

Kiss the Son Today and let HIM take you by the hand that you may rise above unbelief.

Yes, we are New Testament believers and we need the Holy Ghost now more than ever. We need the gifts to operate among us more than ever. We are in the last days and this is the most important time to endure. Lot of sin around us.
@Truther says: "Yes, we are New Testament believers and we need the Holy Ghost now more than ever. We need the gifts to operate among us more than ever. We are in the last days and this is the most important time to endure. Lot of sin around us."

Worth repeating

...that which is perfect....hlo.

Jesus
But I wonder how that will will work from a practical view.

Messages of wisdom, messages of knowledge, faith, gifts of healing, miraculous powers, prophecy, distinguishing between spirits, speaking in different kinds of tongues, and the interpretation of tongues, all gone?

Nearly anything on earth can be faked these days. That doesn't diminish the need to speak in tongues to God. Plus, who makes us the judge on what is legit or not? If you don't have someone else's experience, it does not mean they never experienced it. It means you are not qualified to comment on it.

Correct, the gifts are needed now because we see through a glass darkly(obscured). We won't speak in tongues etc., as we see Jesus face to face.

fact is, we are now in a pre-millennial, partial experience, thus the gifts have been provided to make up for it.

Miracles will cease because everyone will be healed by Jesus instantly per His return, including pollution of the earth etc.

This is not about the church today...

HEB 8:8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

But only this is what the church today is included in...

HEB 10:15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,

16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

Its from the bible St Paul himself I didn't write it lets just omit that from the bible because it doesn't work for you.Just pick and choose it how you want it to

I quoted a bible line get a big black marker and black out 1 Corinthians 14:26-28.It doesn't come from me but you sure are trying to make it only me.

That would be cool to try. I've use google translate quite a bit since I discovered it. Two Filipino gals were talking in Filipino on a forum and I used GT to read along. I stayed out of their conversation I just listened, lol. It was just girl talk.

I heard a girl speaking in tongues in church and she was speaking loud but everybody sort of ignored her and it finished and she left. I wondered if it was real? I know it is now.

Doesn't scripture say when you receive the Baptism of the Holy Ghost that a sign of it is tongues? So everyone who has been baptized in spirit has spoke in tongues. So if you've never spoke in tongues before then you have not been baptized in the spirit? Would that be right?
The answer to your question is "no, not correct ".

God is of order and clarity...not confusion and more confusion.

What is the outcome then, brethren? When you assemble, each one has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has a tongue, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification. 27If anyone speaks in a tongue, it should be by two or at the most three, and each in turn, and one must interpret; 28but if there is no interpreter, he must keep silent in the church; and let him speak to himself and to God. 29Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others pass judgment. 30But if a revelation is made to another who is seated, the first one must keep silent. 31For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all may be exhorted; 32and the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets; 33for God is not a God of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.

v33 says "God is not a God of confusion but of peace"

Does this mean that we should not pray for or receive the Gifts from the Holy Spirit???

1 Cor 14:2 - For if you have the ability to speak in tongues, you will be talking only to God, since people won’t be able to understand you.
You will be speaking by the power of the Spirit, but it will all be mysterious.
The Holy Spirit is God.
Not modalism and not part of a pantheon.

So this post of yours is nonsense.

God understands me just fine in English and spoken in a manner at times that leaves no doubt Who was saying what. Very very clear and unmistakable as to What He wanted.

Let's explain one thing....and I want to be VERY clear on this topic.

FEAR of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
Not the mystical god of magical incantation languages.

Gaining the attention and focus of God is a VERY VERY scary thing. Not different than gaining political attention that has destroyed thousands of people by average schmucks just speaking out their thoughts on the government. (Debanked, investigated by all the alphabets, fired, lawfare and etc)

Except in the case of God....it's the entire universe. It's not exactly comfortable in any fashion. Being a part of the White Noise is much preferable to anything you describe.

Which translation are you using?
And read vs 7-9 in that chapter.
