The Son had or has not a history of being timeless at all.
Scriptural References on the Timeless Nature of Jesus
Eternal Existence of Jesus:
John 1:1-2: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God." This passage affirms the preexistence of Jesus (the Word), indicating that He existed before time began.
Revelation 1:8: "I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Jesus identifies Himself as eternal and all-encompassing, beyond the constraints of time.
Jesus as the Eternal Son:
Hebrews 13:8: "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." This verse highlights the unchanging nature of Jesus, emphasizing His eternal consistency.
Micah 5:2: "But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days." This prophecy points to the eternal origin of Jesus, even though He was born in Bethlehem.
Creation and Timelessness:
Colossians 1:16-17: "For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible... And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together." This underscores Jesus’ role in creation and His existence outside of time.
Timelessness and Immutability:
Hebrews 1:10-12: "And, 'You, Lord, laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the work of your hands; they will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment, like a robe you will roll them up, like a garment they will be changed. But you are the same, and your years will have no end.'" This passage reflects on Jesus’ unchanging nature and His permanence beyond the temporal world.
