And all this time I thought Stephen was asleep.

If you read all the verses before 1 Corinthians 15:51, you would see that Paul was only talking about the human body being changed at the last trumpet and being made immortal. A person's soul and spirit do not die. Scripture never teaches that. Paul said that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Cor 5:8). That means a person's soul and spirit go to be with the Lord in heaven when their body dies. Very simple. You have to be spiritually blind to not understand this simple concept.

John wasn't seeing dead souls here:

Revelation 6:9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? 11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

The souls John saw of physically/bodily dead people clearly had consciousness.

But to give you a chance- please show how one verse in Jeremiah demands that the mark of the beast is the way a person thinks when the word for mark is charagma and means a brand, tattoo, stamp,, imprint and nevera thought or attitude.

Sin is the mark of the man/beast, and the name is Death. This speaks to the sin nature of the natural man who is carnally minded.

Revelation 13 is talking about the mark of the beast which the second beast provides the occupants of Babylon.The people who's names are not written immigrated after the deadly wound was healed.They have not yet received the mark of he beast because the second beast has not arrived to aid the first beast yet.

You said this could not happen after the coming of Christ,even when Christ is talking about one who rose from.the dead.

Christ is the one who rose from the dead.



You also say Stephen is a spirit like God is spirit?
Stephan is like God when the last trump hasn't even been blown yet?

If Stephen is a spirit and sits on the throne of God in heaven then why would he need to be changed at the sound of the last trump?Why would he need to become immortal?

Once a person gets saved they are made spiritually alive through spiritual resurrection. This involves a spiritual birth. As a result, they enter into eternal life and consequently never die.

Death for the believer, is not the end. It is the beginning of the eternal state! There, the elect is liberated from all the physical bodily afflictions that blight our earthly sojourn. Our body may die and go into the grave, awaiting the resurrection, but our spirit goes immediately into the presence of God.

Repeated Scripture proves that bodily death cannot separate the believer from Christ. Whether it is in life or whether it is in death, nothing can separate God’s people from their Lord. Where He is we will be also.
