Still in a world of illusion and self-deception are we?

The verses in Joel and Acts are quite different as they also have one common theme, salvation. These differences are significant. And you cannot just substitute the LORD God Almighty in for his Son, now can we.

The verses differ in context, scope, and timing, and the subject. One is the LORD God and the other his future Son. They cannot mix and you cannot equate them as the same. When are you going to graduate for kindergarten and learn the scripture beyond reading them, all at face value?

Differences:

  1. Context: Joel 2:32 is part of a prophetic passage describing the LORD God’s judgment and restoration, while Acts 4:12 is a response to the early Christian church’s persecution and a declaration of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.
  2. Scope: Joel 2:32 appears to be addressing a broader audience, including Gentiles/other nations, while Acts 4:12 focuses specifically on the nation of Israel.
  3. Timing: Joel 2:32 speaks of a future event, while Acts 4:12 emphasizes the availability of salvation in the present time, even in difficult circumstances.

Joel 2:32 is a prophetic passage describing the LORD God’s restoration, while Acts 4:12 is a declaration of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. They are very different!
Why the number 3 in Scripture when speaking of Elohim(plural) ???

6 And I looked, [c]and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. 7 Then He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne.
The phrase the seven Spirits of God is mentioned 4 times in Revelation.

And in this thread of more than 3000 posts we can not even agree on 3.

Maybe things are above our understanding?

Revelation 1:4–5, “John, To the seven churches in the province of Asia: Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before his throne, and from Jesus Christ . . .”

Revelation 3:1, “To the angel of the church in Sardis write: These are the words of him who holds the seven spirits of God . . .”

Revelation 4:5, “From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder. In front of the throne, seven lamps were blazing. These are the seven spirits of God.”

Revelation 5:6, “Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.”

The identity of “the seven spirits” is not explicit in these passages, but arriving at the proper interpretation is fairly straightforward. The “seven spirits” cannot be seven angelic beings such as seraphim or cherubim because of the context of Revelation 1:4. John says that “grace and peace” are coming to the churches from three sources: “him who is, and who was, and who is to come” (verse 4), “the seven spirits before the throne” (verse 4), and “Jesus Christ” (verse 5). This is a depiction of the Trinity: grace and peace are given by the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, the three co-equal Persons of the Godhead.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God; this one was in the beginning with God; all things through him did happen, and without him happened not even one thing that hath happened.”
‭‭John‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭YLT98‬‬

The Word was God. How? Because the Word God had spoken in the beginning is and was part of God that created light.

I don’t believe in the trinity, all we can do is go off the evidences we have in the Bible, though the Word of God was God in showing the characteristics of the Heart; the Word of God was within the Lord Jesus/Yeshua, and Yeshua carried out the Fathers will, and Word. Yeshua died on the cross having been born of spirit and of flesh.

That’s my take on it, God himself couldn’t have died, but the Word of God did; only to be risen again 3 days later, by the Holy Spirit of the Father.

I think back at when the Word of God, born of flesh and of spirit named Yeshua and Emmanuel, died how the disciples lost all hope, returned home or was going back to fishing.

The reason I don’t believe in the trinity is because I just don’t see it as a viable concept that merits anyone a better relationship with God over the next human being who simply has faith, and looks to Yahavah and to having fellowship with him and his Son.

Hello Matthew G
Have a Merry Christmas

Genesis - Let Us make man in Our Image according to Our likeness = 3
I don't know why you keep repeating that - it does not in any way imply, let alone prove, that God is more than one living being. It is just God (one being) talking to at least one other being. You cannot deduce that there were three beings involved in the discussion.

Exodus - Elohe Abraham Elohe Isaac Elohe Jacob = 3
The names of three men does not in any way imply that God is more than one living being.

Isaiah 6:3 “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; = 3
A word repeated three times for emphasis has got nothing to do with the subject being anything other than a single living being.

Revelation 4:8 ’Holy, holy, holy = 3
Ditto.

is the Lord God Almighty, = 3
Again, that says nothing about the nature of God, nor does it contradict the Scriptures which states that God, YHVH, is one - NOT THREE.

’ who Was, and Is, and is to Come.” = 3
Again, it says nothing about the nature of God. They were saying that God was alive, is alive right now, and He will be alive in the future too. They were talking about God, who was sitting on a throne, as mentioned in the previous verse - Revelation 4:2 (WEB):

(2) Immediately I was in the Spirit. Behold, there was a throne set in heaven, and one sitting on the throne

Lord God Almighty = SON FATHER HOLY SPIRIT the 3 are ONE
Totally illogical and you cannot deduce that from those, or any other verses of Scripture.

We cannot fully understand this - only believe our FATHER's every word
You cannot understand it because it is nonsensical and not supported by the Scriptures. You're not "rightly handling" the Scriptures. 2 Timothy 2:15 (ESV):

(15) Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

More like fertile soil, which represents the heart ,and there he has been maturing and growing me by his powerful Living Holy Spirit..for the past 33 yrs, before I could properly hear the Spirit ,he’s had to clear all the muck and rubbish I was taught by my parents and the world out of me...my mind is. continually being renewed..Praise God.

The soil is the life and heart of each human being. The parable tells us that much seed is lost when falling into unreceptive soil. However, when seed and soil connect and interact properly, astonishing growth occurs. “And some fell into good soil and grew, and yielded a hundredfold.”

The Holy Spirit works in the heart / spirit of Gods child ,for that is where we know him..in Jesus Name ,Amen!

Born Again of imperishable seed, a Living seed that liveth and abideth forever...a seed that just keeps on growing and maturing me in Spirit knowledge, this world is of no interest to me..

How could this human know God?

God did it all and the Spirit continues to do it all,I’m his vessel/ child and he will use me all according to his will..not my will Father, your will be done..I adore you and worship you, with all my heart, mind and soul..teach me your ways until the day my flesh dies, I have only one master, Almighty God, my Spirit Father.

Oh no! Fertile mind means your mind is full of manure!

Oh no! The Spirit just came to me and told me that since you do not believe that Yeshua is a God, Satan personally will take your soul to Hell. He has a pitch fork with your name on it.

I told the Spirit to at least give you bottle of barbeque sauce for good basting!

Full of Gods Love in my heart, how could we possibly know of God?
Oh no! The Spirit just came to me and told me that since you do not believe that Yeshua is a God, Satan personally will take your soul to Hell. He has a pitch fork with your name on it.
The Spirit testifies with our spirit that we are the children of God by = supernatural divine heart revelation?
I told the Spirit to at least give you bottle of barbeque sauce for good basting!
I wish you too would answer my questions...how do we even know the Spirit of God?

By whose witness?..witnessing where in us his truth all day every day?

How do we know that Jesus hung on a cross.

No amount of study of scripture or a Bible theologian...will get us into the Kingdom Of God.we need the testimony of the Living Holy Spirit.

Only he can testify with our spirit Gods truth.thats better than barbecue sauce any day.LOL.

Seek God out with all of your heart, for there is where you will find him..not through your own brain box.

When Spirit gives birth to spirit...think on that...what must the spirit penetrate in order for the seed to take root and grow into a beautiful tree...?

Who planted the seed of God?,was it a living seed?

The rebirth for me was mind blowing!!..because it’s a Living spiritual rebirth, the Spirit is Alive in my spirit...never Can I die in spirit.,,saved from eternal damnation, secure 100% in my spirit.

Born Again by the Living testimony of Gods Holy Spirit..

All this Spirit knowledge has taken me years to understand..I only ask for heart revelation from God...not intellectual human knowledge doesn’t resonate with my spirit,

The LAMB has Seven Eyes

For behold, on the stone that I have set before Joshua, on
a single stone with seven eyes,
I will engrave its inscription, declares the LORD of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of this land in a single day.

i am sharing this with you because you know and love the TRUTH

Genesis - Let Us make man in Our Image according to Our likeness = 3
Exodus - Elohe Abraham Elohe Isaac Elohe Jacob = 3

Isaiah 6:3 “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; = 3
Revelation 4:8 ’Holy, holy, holy = 3
is the Lord God Almighty, = 3
’ who Was, and Is, and is to Come.” = 3

Lord God Almighty = SON FATHER HOLY SPIRIT the 3 are ONE

We cannot fully understand this - only believe our FATHER's every word

Hebrews 11:3 - By FAITH we understand............. = understanding follows FAITH in the Word that was God

WHY 3 in Scripture???

It is the Revealing of Divine Fullness.

In a layman’s understanding (so to speak)…
God had an IDEA….
(To CREATE …Things for His Pleasure.)

How to Convey, His IDEA….?
(SPEAK His WORD … Because His Word, heard or not IS Absolute Truth)

How to Send Forth OUT of His Mouth, His WORD /TRUTH …?
(His Absolute Supreme POWER..

It is the Wholeness, Holiness, Perfection of God.

When a man has an Idea…
OK
When a man Conveys his idea with his Word…
OK
When a man Accomplishes his Idea, with his Power…
Has the Wholeness of his being been established and revealed?

Perhaps a poor analogy …
Gods wholeness … has been revealed to us…to whit we can accept or not.

Glory to God,
Taken

For behold, on the stone that I have set before Joshua, on
a single stone with seven eyes,
I will engrave its inscription, declares the LORD of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of this land in a single day.

Zechariah 3:7-10 (NKJV) 7 “Thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘If you will walk in My ways, And if you will keep My command, Then you shall also judge My house, And likewise have charge of My courts; I will give you places to walk Among these who stand here. 8 ‘Hear, O Joshua, the high priest, You and your companions who sit before you, For they are a wondrous sign; For behold, I am bringing forth My Servant the BRANCH. 9 For behold, the stone That I have laid before Joshua: Upon the stone [are] seven eyes. Behold, I will engrave its inscription,’ Says the LORD of hosts, ‘And I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day. 10 In that day,’ says the LORD of hosts, ‘Everyone will invite his neighbor Under his vine and under his fig tree.’ ”
The "stone" is Jesus Christ, and the "seven eyes" are the seven thousand (seven for completeness), all of whom, according to Mark 13:11, permitted the Holy Spirit to speak through them at the time of their delivery.

Who is God? Creator
Who is The Word? Jesus
Who is The Maker? Jesus
Who is The Truth? Jesus
Who is The Life? Jesus
Who is The Way? Jesus
Who is The Power? Christ
Who is the Spirit? Truth
Who is The Seed? Christ
Who is The Wisdom? Christ
Who is The Salvation? Jesus
Who is the Savior? Jesus

Pondering for the wondering…

If the Word and Power were NOT With God, In God, Is God…in the Beginning…
HOW … did God Speak forth To Create?
HOW … did Gods Power cause what was not to manifest?
HOW … did Gods Creations Become MADE IF the Maker was NOT there?
IF … the Word WAS God…did Gods Word become NOT His Word?
IF … the Nothing WAS made Without the MAKER…
HOW … was the Heaven and Earth and Mankind Created AND Made without Jesus?

the LORD has not granted to you the ability to SEE
Or maybe it is you who has fallen for the lies of the deciever (Satan), and so you can't see the truth?

1 John 2:22
(22) Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the Antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son.

By denying that Jesus is an individual living being, the only begotten son of God, who God anointed to be our saviour, who died for our sins, but instead believing that Jesus is (or is part of) God (and God cannot die because He is immortal), then you are denying the Son and the Father.

1 John 5:
(9) If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is God’s testimony which he has testified concerning his Son.
[God's testimony, Matthew 3:17 - Behold, a voice out of the heavens said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased”, and again Matthew 17:5 - While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them. Behold, a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to him.”]
(10) He who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. He who doesn’t believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning his Son.
(11) The testimony is this, that God gave to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
(12) He who has the Son has the life. He who doesn’t have God’s Son doesn’t have the life.
(13) These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.
(14) This is the boldness which we have toward him [God, the Father - to Him, not to them], that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us.
(15) And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.
(19) We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.
[John 8:44, "You are of your father, the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and doesn’t stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks on his own; for he is a liar, and the father of lies."]
(20) We know that the Son of God has come, and has given us an understanding, that we know him [God - the Father] who is true, and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
[Note that there is no trinity or "three" in this passage.]

God said listen to His Son, and Jesus said, John 17:3
(3) This is eternal life, that they should know you [the Father], the only true God, and him whom you sent, Jesus Christ.

Joh 20:28 Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!”

Does that count ?
It does say this

2 Cr 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Much earlier in John Philip said to him the following

John 14:8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew US the Father, and it sufficeth us

Jesus responds

John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

John 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

As Jesus said

John 16:32 "I am not alone, because the Father is with me."

And so when Thomas (who was not intially with the others) sees Jesus he says

John 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

Knowing that it is also written

2 Cr 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself

(And I was talking about this on another thread) that it becomes a weaker argument going by what Thomas says in light of these things. And not only that, but what is written just a few verses down from Thomas saying, "My Lord and my God" ....It says here

John 20:30 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

On another note though, God is speaking to the Son in Psalm 45:6-7 as Hebrews 1:8 points out

Heb 1:8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

Found here

Psalm 45:6 Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.

Psalm 45:7 Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

So dont know why Psalm 45:6-7 isnt used when it come to Jesus being addressed as God, by God the Father.

Regardless, His God made Jesus Lord and Christ. And the Father given testimony to us is the acknowledgement of the Son of God. And Jesus tells us he goes to His God and our God.

1 Cr 8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

There is a fellowship of a mystery between them, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ.

And no man created all things

Here is how i can tell the difference = satan wants you to be un-believing just like the pharisees

Whereas JESUS says: "man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the Mouth of God"

You do not believe every word AND you disavow "It is written" by adding your words upon God's Word

satanism 101 - twist scripture just a little so as to un-deify the SON and in so doing make him out to be just a man

Then He went out from there and came to His own country, and His disciples followed Him. And when the Sabbath had come, He began to teach in the synagogue. And many hearing Him were astonished, saying, “Where did this Man get these things? And what wisdom is this which is given to Him, that such mighty works are performed by His hands! Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?” So they were offended at Him.

But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, among his own relatives, and in his own house.”
Now He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them.
And He marveled because of their unbelief. Then He went about the villages in a circuit, teaching.

Just as there is no such thing as a square circle, there is no such thing as a divine man.
CORRECT

Their is the Eternal Divine Word who was/is God from the beginning.

"and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us" = "Immanuel, meaning God with us"

But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was.
Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.
And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”

Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?”

And the angel answered and said to her, The Holy Spirit(Divinity) will come upon you,
and the power of the Highest(Divinity) will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One(Divinity) who is to be born will be called the Son of God.
Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren.
For with God nothing will be impossible.”

hen He went down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and was teaching them on the Sabbaths.
And they were astonished at His teaching, for His word was with authority.
Now in the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon. And he cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth?
Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!”

James 2:19 -You - @CadyandZoe - believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!
