So JW is a reactionary belief system against the Catholics and Protestants?
Well, not all non-trinitarians are JW’s…perhaps it’s good to acknowledge that fact…
Reactionary? YES!!! And why wouldn’t we react to false doctrines being promoted as Bible truth?
It’s not until you actually study the Bible itself and allow it to provide answers that you can see through the illogical and unbiblical beliefs that so many hang onto because they are told that salvation depends on believing these things…..but salvation comes from knowing “the only true God”
AND “the one whom he sent” (John 17:3)…..so the identity of both God and his son are vital for everlasting life, yet here we see the third party completely missing from this statement, as ”he” often is when God and his son are mentioned together. There never were three’ gods’. The God of Israel was “one”. (Deut 6:4) Jesus and his apostles were Jewish…as was every single Bible writer. None would have accepted Jesus as “ho theos”, but as “theos”....yes, a “divine mighty one”.
Even in the favored John 1:1, only God and his son are mentioned. If you look at the Greek you will see plainly that “ho theos” is there pertaining to Yahweh and so is “theos”…pertaining to the Word…..there are two “gods” mentioned in that verse, but where is number three?
Just researching the meaning of the word “theos” reveals so much about who God/god is.…and what relationship the Father and his firstborn son had even before he became Jesus the man.
“Theos” in Greek does not carry the same meaning as “God” in English. But only original language word studies will reveal this very important truth. To call someone “theos” simply meant “a divine mighty one” a terminology that fits any ‘god, goddess, divinity or deity‘ (Strongs definition)
Since the one God of Israel had only one name (YHWH) and the Jews refused to utter it, the only way to identify this God from all the other gods in that polytheistic society, was by the use of the definite article…”ho”. So when “ho theos” is used it refers to Yahweh as “THE God”…….and when “theos” is used without the definite article, it refers to a powerful personage “a god” or ‘one with divine authorization’ like the judges in Israel (John 10:31-33)…..it is used of angels, God’s son, human judges and even satan. If humans can be called ”theos” and even satan is called by this designation, then something is wrong with the way modern translations convey the truth…it is twisted beyond all recognition…..and so deeply ingrained in their theology, that they cannot see past it.
All those scriptures that refer to God in trinitarians translations that omit the definite article and translate all reference to “theos” as “God” with a capital “G”…..they ignore the fact that there are no capitals in the Greek alphabet. Translators with a trinitarians bias mislead all who read their translations. No more clearly seen than in the exchanges on this runaway train of a discussion.
Suffice it to say that those who have chosen their position will answer directly to the judge who is at this moment taking note of all who claim to belong to him…..he knows those who truly know him. And nothing will change his mind when he passes sentence on those who could not be told.
This subject is a salvation issue.…it can be debated till the cows come home, but one truth remains despite all the arguments and counter arguments….God’s nature is unalterable and so is the nature of his son…..and the Holy Spirit remains what it has always been.
If we believe the truth, we will be saved…if we accept the lie, we will not. Jesus will tell us all soon enough, but we already know that the majority will go down making excuses. (Matt 7:13-14; 21-23) “Few” will be found on the road to life.
Ponder on that.
