@Wrangler ...Jesus was baptised with the divine nature when he started his ministry..do you agree?

Only then once he was baptised in the Spirit, did he have power and authority from God, do you concur?

He was empowered by God...to start his ministry and walk in the Spirit..?

Matthew 3

King James Version

3 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
4 And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.
5 Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan,
6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.
7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.
13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.
14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?
15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.
16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased

Isaiah 9:6

King James Version

6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, And they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

None of this scripture shows that Jesus was Born with the divine nature.

Nothing there that says he has a divine nature.
My opinion of what that scripture is saying , disagrees with yours.

The Mighty God, God with us?
She is out of touch with reality brother-

Scripture provides numerous references attesting to the divine nature of Jesus Christ. Here are key passages, highlighting various aspects of His divinity:

1. Jesus as God in Essence
John 1:1: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
Affirms the preexistence and deity of Jesus as the Word (Logos).

John 20:28: "Thomas answered him, 'My Lord and my God!'"
Thomas explicitly identifies Jesus as God.

Titus 2:13: "Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ."
Jesus is explicitly called "our great God and Savior."

2. Jesus as Creator
Colossians 1:16-17: "For by Him all things were created, in heaven and on earth... all things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together."
Jesus is identified as the Creator and Sustainer of all things.

Hebrews 1:10: "You, Lord, laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the work of Your hands."
Quoting Psalm 102, this is applied to Jesus.

3. Jesus as Eternal and Preexistent
John 8:58: "Before Abraham was, I am."
Jesus uses the divine name "I Am" (cf. Exodus 3:14), affirming His eternal existence.

Micah 5:2: "But you, Bethlehem... from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days."
Prophesies the eternal origins of the Messiah.

4. Jesus as the Image and Fullness of God
Colossians 2:9: "For in Him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily."
Declares Jesus to possess the complete essence of deity.

Hebrews 1:3: "He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature."
Portrays Jesus as the perfect representation of God's being.

5. Jesus Receiving Worship
Matthew 14:33: "And those in the boat worshiped Him, saying, 'Truly you are the Son of God.'"
Jesus accepts worship, a prerogative of God alone.

Revelation 5:13-14: "To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!"
The Lamb (Jesus) is worshiped alongside the Father.

6. Jesus as Forgiver of Sins
Mark 2:5-7: "And when Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, 'Son, your sins are forgiven.' Now some of the scribes were sitting there, questioning in their hearts... 'Who can forgive sins but God alone?'"
Jesus exercises divine authority to forgive sins.

7. Jesus as "The LORD" (YHWH)
Philippians 2:9-11: "Therefore God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow... and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord."

Refers to Isaiah 45:23, where every knee bows to YHWH, now applied to Jesus.
These passages, along with many others, consistently affirm that Jesus possesses a divine nature, identifying Him as God, Creator, eternal, and worthy of worship. This evidence forms the scriptural basis for the doctrine of the hypostatic union and Christ's divinity.

1. John 1:1
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

Analysis:
"In the beginning": Echoing Genesis 1:1, this phrase positions the Word (Logos) as eternal, existing before creation, implying divine preexistence.

"Was with God": This phrase demonstrates the distinction of persons within the Godhead. The Word has a personal relationship with God (the Father), hinting at Trinitarian theology.

"Was God": The absence of the definite article in Greek (theos ēn ho logos) emphasizes quality over identity. The Word shares the essence of God without being identical to the Father.

Christ is co-eternal and co-equal with the Father, foundational to the Nicene Creed.
The passage sets the stage for the incarnation in John 1:14, where the Word becomes flesh, intertwining His divine and human natures.

Historical and Patristic Commentary:
Origen: Interpreted the lack of the definite article as affirming the divinity of the Word while preserving the distinction of persons.

Tertullian: Used John 1:1 to argue for the distinction yet unity of the Father and the Son (Against Praxeas).

2. Revelation 5:13-14
"To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!"

Analysis:
Worship of the Lamb: The Lamb (Jesus) receives the same worship as God the Father, indicating His full divinity.

Universal Acclamation: Every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth, and in the sea joins in worship, echoing the cosmic scope of Philippians 2:10.

Eternal Praise: The ascription of eternal blessing to both the Father and the Son underscores their equality in the Godhead.

Theological Implications:
Only God is worthy of worship in biblical tradition (Deuteronomy 6:13; Isaiah 42:8), making the worship of the Lamb a direct affirmation of Christ's deity.

The imagery reinforces the unity and distinction within the Godhead, central to Trinitarian theology.

Historical and Patristic Commentary:

Irenaeus: Stressed the Lamb's co-eternity with the Father as the divine agent of redemption (Against Heresies 4.20.7).
Justin Martyr: Connected the worship of Christ as the Lamb to Old Testament messianic prophecies (Dialogue with Trypho).

3. Philippians 2:9-11
"Therefore God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow... and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord."

Analysis:
"Highly exalted": Jesus’ exaltation is a recognition of His inherent divinity and victorious humility through the incarnation and atonement.

"The name that is above every name": Likely refers to the divine name (YHWH). Paul applies Isaiah 45:23, where every knee bows to YHWH, directly to Jesus.

"Jesus Christ is Lord": The title Lord (Greek: Kyrios) aligns Jesus with the divine identity of YHWH in the Septuagint.
Theological Implications:

The passage articulates the "kenosis" (self-emptying) of Christ (Philippians 2:6-8), showing that His humanity does not diminish His divine nature.

It affirms that Jesus' exaltation to divine glory is not a promotion but a recognition of His eternal status.

Historical and Patristic Commentary:

Athanasius: Used Philippians 2 to combat Arianism, affirming Christ's full deity and equality with the Father (Against the Arians).

Chrysostom: Highlighted the passage as a model of Christ's humility and a revelation of His divine sovereignty.
These passages collectively affirm Christ's divine nature, preexistence, and identity with God while maintaining distinctions within the Trinity. They were pivotal in shaping early Christological and Trinitarian formulations.

John 8:58
“Jesus said to them, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.’”

This is the most direct claim to deity made by Jesus. In this declaration Jesus is affirming His preexistence, which is in itself a claim to deity. Even more startling than that, He is claiming to be “I AM.” The Greek expression ego eimi is the emphatic first person singular for the verb “to be” and reflects the Hebrew ’ehyeh, which is the equivalent to ego eimi, that is, the first person singular for the verb “to be.” When Jesus spoke those words, everyone who heard Him would immediately have thought of the text in Exodus 3:14 where God declared His name to Moses as “I AM THAT I AM.” In short, Jesus was making a claim not just to deity, but to be Yahweh. The name Yahweh is actually the third person singular for the verb “to be”—He Is.

By robbing Christ of His Divine nature she has NO Savior!

Would you agree with this @Wrangler ?

Some say Jesus became divine at His baptism(Mat 3:16, Mark 1:10, Luke 3:22, John 1:32). Apparently, they consider the act of receiving the Holy Ghost as being divine.

When did Jesus first reveal his divinity?
In John 4:26, Jesus reveals himself for the first time in the Gospel of John as the Messiah “I am” — and he reveals it directly to a woman of a 'rejected people.

Mark 1:10

“And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:”

Completely. I read a book that pointed out that the later there text, the earlier Jesus was deemed to be divine.

Does that mean I became divine when I received the Holy Spirit?
Well, maybe not the likes of you! Just kidding. Of course.

Compare Moses at the burning bush to us. God told him to remove his sandals because he was on holy ground. There is nothing special about us or that ground. What made the ground holy and you divine is the association with the Creator.

She is WAY off the beaten path friend-

@Wrangler ...Jesus was baptised with the divine nature when he started his ministry..do you agree?

You-Yes!

The idea that Jesus was baptized with the divine nature at the beginning of His ministry contradicts the scriptural and traditional Christian understanding of His nature.

According to orthodox Christian theology, Jesus did not acquire divinity at any point in His earthly life, including His baptism.

Instead, He has always possessed a divine nature as the eternal Son of God, co-equal and co-eternal with the Father. Below is an explanation of why this view is inconsistent with biblical teaching:

1. Scriptural Testimony to Christ's Preexistent Divinity
John 1:1-14: Jesus is described as the eternal Logos ("Word"), who was with God and was God from the beginning. Verse 14 affirms that this Word "became flesh" in the incarnation, meaning that His divine nature predated His earthly ministry and was not a later addition.

Colossians 1:15-17: Christ is presented as the Creator and Sustainer of all things, demonstrating His divine nature long before His baptism or incarnation.
Micah 5:2: The prophecy of the Messiah states His origins are "from of old, from ancient days," signifying His eternal divinity.

2. The Purpose of Christ's Baptism
Matthew 3:13-17: Jesus' baptism by John the Baptist was not for receiving divinity or forgiveness of sins but as an act of obedience to fulfill all righteousness. The event marks the public commencement of His ministry and His identification with humanity.

The descent of the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove does not imply Jesus was receiving divinity at this moment. Instead, it symbolizes the Father's anointing of Jesus for His mission as the Messiah, as foretold in Isaiah 61:1: "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor."

The Father's voice, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased," confirms Jesus' divine Sonship, not as something newly given but as eternally true.

3. The Hypostatic Union
According to the doctrine of the hypostatic union, defined at the Council of Chalcedon (451 AD), Jesus possesses two natures-divine and human-united in one person. This union occurred at the incarnation (John 1:14; Philippians 2:6-8), not at His baptism. He was fully divine and fully human from the moment of His conception in Mary's womb.

4. Early Church Fathers on Christ’s Divine Nature
Ignatius of Antioch: "There is one Physician who is possessed both of flesh and spirit; both made and not made; God existing in flesh." (Letter to the Ephesians, 7) This statement explains that Jesus was divine even during His earthly life.

Irenaeus: "The Word of God, our Lord Jesus Christ, who did, through His transcendent love, become what we are, that He might bring us to be even what He is Himself." (Against Heresies, 5.1) Irenaeus affirms that Christ’s divinity was intrinsic to His person from His incarnation onward.

The belief that Jesus acquired divinity at baptism aligns more closely with adoptionism, a heretical view condemned by the Church, which claims that Jesus was merely human and was later "adopted" as God's Son. This is contrary to the Nicene Creed (325 AD), which declares that Jesus is "begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father."

So what--do you and her hold to the heretical view of adoptionism??

Jesus’ baptism inaugurated His public ministry but did not confer divinity upon Him. He was divine from eternity, and the baptism symbolized His obedience, mission, and empowerment by the Holy Spirit as the incarnate Messiah.

Lol!

For you Early Church Father fans out there, this view of the effect of Jesus's baptism was espoused by Melito of Sardis, On the nature of Christ:

"For there is no need, to persons of intelligence, to attempt to prove, from the deeds of Christ subsequent to His baptism, that His soul and His body, His human nature like ours, were real, and no phantom of the imagination. For the deeds done by Christ after His baptism, and especially His miracles, gave indication and assurance to the world of the Deity hidden in His flesh. For, being at once both God and perfect man likewise, He gave us sure indications of His two natures: of His Deity, by His miracles during the three years that elapsed after His baptism; of His humanity, during the thirty similar periods which preceded His baptism, in which, by reason of His low estate as regards the flesh, He concealed the signs of His Deity, although He was the true God existing before all ages."

None of this scripture shows that Jesus was Born with the divine nature.

God IS Divine…Holy…Perfect…as IS everything that comes forth out from God…
Gods Word, Gods Breath, Gods Seed, etc.

Gods Thoughts are His Secrets….UNTIL…God opens His mouth and sends forth His Word….and Gods Power is His Glory….THAT…God reveals bit by bit for manKIND to SEE:
(Sky, vegetation, water, etc.)

Gen 1: [1] In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
[2] And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
[3] And God said….

Later we learn ….
God created…………and then MADE (and is still MAKING) changes, in his “creations”….
* Man was Created….then MADE Living.
* Mans body will die, but mans soul and born again spirit and glorified body can live forever.
** Earth was Created…then we learn of it’s making of Levels (mountains, face of earth, hole, crater, oceans, crust, divisions, hell, pit, lake of fire.)
** Heaven was Created…then we learn of it’s Making of Levels (Heaven above the Heavens, 3rd Heaven, heavenly stars, cosmos, clouds of heaven.

Earth has occupants for 4,000 years…….
Then we learn the NAME of
Gods Word ~ Jesus
The title of Gods Power ~ Christ
The title of Gods Wisdom ~ Christ
The title of Gods Seed ~ Christ

All which comes forth OUT from God…IS God. (while remaining IN God)…

All Divine, All Holy, All the Same yesterday, today and for ever.

Glory to God,
Taken

Agree..there is only one God, he made the universe..

Jesus is not God.

The Holy Spirit is not God..they were sent by God.,in Jesus Name...Amen!
So JESUS was sent by GOD in the name of JESUS . look what you just wrote .
THEY were sent by GOD in JESUS NAME .
its quite clear what is occuring . I seem to notice certain ones beginning to gather .
TWO of whom I KNOW gots zero problem with the interfaith and one has even accused me of JUDGING other religions
cause i said they were false they do DENY JESUS is the CHRIST .
You said none of what i just wrote . BUT YOU BE A GATHERING with both . now why is that rita .
I truly believe i already know the answer . But if i am right the tears will explode upon my face .
ME THINKS folks want to BELEIVE SOMETHING . a LIE . but it sounds LIKE LOVE and it sounds loving .
AND boy do it hate the word BELIEVE , IF that there word implies it DIRE NECESSARY TO BELEIVE
IN JESUS THE CHRIST . On that path other religoins are embraced as okay at the least so long as they do the lovey do bullCRAP
of what they all THINK be the golden rule but denies both that RULE and HE WHO GAVE IT .
I warned us all , but yet not I but the grace of GOD within me and long ago warned me
WHAT WAS and was to come upon all within even christendom that served the god it desired but NOT THE GOD .
TO say JESUS IS NOT GOD is blashemy , TO say HE IS NOT THE FATHER is not blasphemy .
JESUS Himself identies HIMSELF as alpha and omega , the first and the last .
BUT to sie united religoins of men and of elites who run it , JESUS had to be removed as being seen AS
and rather as being seen as at most a prophet . SO as they could sing to the tune that all the religions had prophets
who spoke truth and no ones religion be better than the others . TO MERGE THEM to beleive
the lie . Now the false religoins already believe a lie . THE LIE was to come to silence the true gospel
and to merge all as one . NO LONGER DIVIDED but UNITED as one . and boy is it doing just that
under what it has long called love , long called judge not correct not , long called breakingdown walls
WE has got ZERO idea what has occured and is occuring . ALL in the lambs book of life
to merge as one under a lie , IS Occuring . the day of aremegeddon draws nigh .
WHEN a united peoples , no longer divided , but united merge as one
with one goal . RID the earth of all that did not conform . the greatest hour of tribulation is not behind
the church , ITS AT THE door . but do not under any circumstances weep one tear for me .
I cALL all to bear record that i have said today on the eight day of december in the year of our LORD two thousand
and twenty four , DO NOT ANY OF YOU WEEP for me , sorrow for me , YA WEEP FOR THE LOST
WEEP FOR ALL who bought the lie of interfaith and false love , FOR IT IS THEY WHO WILL BE TROD UNDER FOOT BY GOD
by HIS CHRIST . at most all i will do is suffer and die at the hands of men . FAR WORSE to face the second death .

Anyone who does not Have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to HIM .
If the SPIRIT be in us then the body is dead because of sins .
What i think we need to all do is go and look at what the actaul FRUIT of THE TRUE HOLY SPIRIT produces .
What is The actual fruit and what does IT PROVE .
The fruit of the SPIRIT is in all goodness , righteousness , and TRUTH . proving that which is Acceptable
to GOD . not to man , TO GOD .
Sin is not acceptable , Other relgions are not acceptable , UNBELIEF in CHRIST is not acceptable TO GOD.
in fact the only way to be made ACCEPTABLE to GOD IS IN CHRIST JESUS . .
The SPIRIT testifies OF JESUS the CHRIST it dont try and build a religion of false love good works and etc
and cliams it dont matter if one believes IN JESUS or NOT . that is NOT THE SPIRIT at work .
Many can profess to believe , but rather they believe what men who twist things tell them ABOUT JESUS . now that has
been a problem for quite some time .
ONLY the born again TRULY CALL HIM LORD and have the SPIRIT and thus their fruits and the FRUIT of the SPIRIT is seen in them .
Many follow another spirit , another jesus , another gospel . So my advice to all is
LETS really get into the bible to learn OF JESUS , to learn the HOLY SPIRIT INSPIRED WORDS of TRUTH that were left to us to learn .
To be made wise unto salvation through FAITH IN JESUS THE CHRIST and not rather as many do faith in the jesus men created
by twisting the scriptures . .

ME NO . JESUS was THE WORD and that WORD formed inside the womb of mary . HIS NATURE OF GOD
was THE NATURE OF GOD FROM WOMB TO TOMB and THROUGHOUT ALL TIMES .
JESUS had more knowledge than them wise ol folks even at age twelve . THEY MARVELED AT HIS UNDERSTANDING .
HOW DID HE EVEN HAVE THAT . From the womb and long before HE was on earth HE was and HE is I AM . folks might have a problem with that ,
THIS LAMB EMBRACES IT . And the WORDS of GOD confirms THIS TO BE TRUE .
IN the beginning was the WORD and the WORD was with GOD and .......................................IT ACTUALLY CONFIRMS THIS .

Amen brother!

John 1:1-3: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made."

John 1:14: "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth."

Colossians 1:15-17: "He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, in heaven and on earth... And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together."

Revelation 1:8: "I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty."

Luke 2:46-47: "After three days they found Him in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. And all who heard Him were amazed at His understanding and His answers."

John 8:58: "Jesus said to them, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.'"

Revelation 22:13: "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end."

Hebrews 13:8: "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever."

Isaiah 44:6: "Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: 'I am the first and I am the last; besides me there is no god.'"

These verses affirm Jesus’ eternal divine nature, His role as Creator, and His unchanging deity from eternity past through His earthly life and into eternity future.

Stay strong IN Christ Jesus @amigo de christo!
