That self righteous, holier than thou gospel is not the gospel of Christ, which is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes. (Romans 1:16) Rather than promoting Christ, certain folks instead prefer to exploit the gospel and Christ in order to promote themselves.
Hi again Dad, and regarding your post and Epi's reply further 'down.' ...#564
Look at Epi's response to this post of yours? He chose this time, to support your post and only because he chose to respond with vague, deceptive words, by design. It is his easy way out. He really does not agree with you, I assure you. As his words mean other things completely. And he can never apply scripture accurately and in context to convey his personal doctrine.
When you pin him down on what he meant by his words he will deflect, either with a childish reply, or try to ridicule you. He has no other option in this situation.
Let's just look at a few of your words..."....the gospel of Christ, which is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes. (Romans 1:16).."
He replied to it by saying, "...Amen again...the power of God to walk as Jesus walked without sin. In Him is no sin..."
He misled you. He really meant he is free from sin and can be not just Christlike, as we know we can be, no, he meant we can be Christ himself, at least at times in this body. This is a profound and nearly touching on blasphemy.
This is what I believe regarding the power of God in a genuine believer's life.....a little drawn out...
Can we walk in the power of God to walk as Jesus walked without sin
The Bible teaches that Jesus walked in the power of God without sin. The question is, can we, as believers, walk in the same power and without sin? The answer is a resounding “yes” and “no”.
Yes,
we can walk in the power of God. The Bible says, “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit” (Galatians 5:25). This means that as believers, we have the Holy Spirit dwelling within us, guiding and empowering us to live a life pleasing to God. We can walk in the power of God by surrendering to His will, seeking His guidance, and trusting in His provision.
No,
we cannot walk without sin. In other words we may have
moments and days and even weeks where we are never conscious of sin, although it is very temporary. The Bible says, “If we say, ‘We have no sin,’ we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us” (1 John 1:8). As believers, we are still a type believer's sinner, in this body, and will continue to struggle with sin until we are glorified in heaven. However, as you suggested,
we can walk in the power of God, and He will help us overcome sin and live a life that is pleasing to Him.
And how Can We Walk in the Power of God without Sin?
To walk in the power of God without sin, we must:
- Tune our hearts to the voice of the Holy Spirit (John 10:27; 16:13)...listen and obey the will of God
- Choose to live according to what God reveals to us (Proverbs 3:5-6)
- Seek God’s guidance and provision (Psalm 32:8)
- Trust in God’s sovereignty and goodness (Romans 8:28)
- Confess and repent of our sins (1 John 1:9)
In summary, while
we cannot walk without sin, as our typical lifestyle, we can walk in the power of God by surrendering to His will, seeking His guidance, and trusting in His provision.
With the Holy Spirit dwelling within us, we can overcome sin and live a life that is pleasing to God.
Now see if you can find even a vague similarity to my response in any of Epi's words, yesterday, today and tomorrow. I don't think so, he will keep entertaining the 'higher walk' and a fake 'higher' righteousness and holiness walk. Keep you confused as he cannot describe it with scripture without bending its meaning.
Great Day.....and many blessings to you and family
