BEWARE BRETHREN:
The basis of where face2face is coming from is NOT God's written Word, but the doctrines of GNOSTICISM. One of the problems 1 & 2nd century Gnosticism created, is they tried to mix esoteric pagan doctrines in with Bible Scripture. That is how some beth-aven (houses of vanity) type churches out there got into their methods of turning much of The Bible into 'allegory' and philosophical speculation.
What face2face is doing is taking the concept of the world to come described as 'new heavens and a new earth' by Isaiah and Apostle Peter, and MIS-APPLYING a WHOLE DIFFERENT CONCEPT to that phrase. That is the sign of Gnostic speculative philosophy, using that label which is literally meant about a future literal 'new heavens and a new earth', and turning it into some speculative philosophy idea like the philosophers at Athens used to do, ever showing the love of hearing something new, and never coming to the Truth.
This is the type of post I would expect from you Davy. Why not speak to
Deuteronomy 32:1 &
Isaiah 65:17
You know the listeners of these words constitute the Heavens (rulers) and Earth (peoples) of the mosaic age! You also cant run from the fact these former political arrangements would be replaced first by Christ, then by God Himself.
1. Mosaic
2. Christ
3. Yahweh
2&3 are both New from the age before it!
Take 2 Peter 3:13 - below as an example!
2 Peter 3:7 But by the same word
the present heavens and earth have been reserved for fire, by
being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.
Peter here is referring to the Judaism and
its destruction in AD70 reserved for j
udgement upon the 2nd advent of the Lord to earth.
Context is KING!
Peter is referring to the
stone that the builders rejected.
The builders should have been the spiritual rulers (Heavens) of the day but the Pharisees were the blind leaders of the blind and were deceitful in their worship (2 Peter 3:1).
Matthew 23 shows their falseness and hypocrisy. They were not building God's house, but were instead devouring widow's houses. They were spiritually dead and 'full of dead men's bones' Their house ...the temple Matthew 23:38 was to be left desolate. They trusted in the hugely visible temple in Jerusalem, which Jesus tells us in Matthew 24:1-4 was to be destroyed.
Peter knew of the coming destruction of Jerusalem and the words of Jesus. He refers to the end of the Jewish commonwealth in 2 Peter 3:7 when the Jewish political and religious heaven and earth were to come to an end in AD 70. God is not interested in physical building, but in the development of a spiritual temple. Isaiah 66:1-2
Now Davy, if you could provide an answer to the context of 2 Peter 3 as per above I would gladly listen to you but you cant - so you cast stones!
