Faith is a gift from God...as soon as we have been Born Of The Spirit we can then walk in faith, as faith comes by supernatural divine heart revelation...

It’s a gift from God...no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.

The Spirit testifies with our spirit that we are Gods children, that’s when our spirit becomes Reborn.....only he can testify of God to our spirit....as we are dead in spirit, that is until God decides to regenerate our spirit.

We must have Gods Living testimony indwelling our spirit to know him as God is a Supernatural Spirit, we communicate with him via his Holy Spirit to our spirit, hence Born Of The Spirit..

Spirit gives birth to spirit.

2:25), faith is also a supernatural gift of God. Ephesians 2:8–9affirms this: “By grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.”

Walking by the Spirit
(Ezekiel 36:16–38; Galatians 5:16–26)
1Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.a2For in Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set youb free from the law of sin and death. 3For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful man, as an offering for sin.c He thus condemned sin in the flesh, 4so that the righteous standard of the law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
5Those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh; but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. 6The mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace,7because the mind of the flesh is hostile to God: It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. 8Those controlled by the fleshd cannot please God.
9You, however, are controlled not by the flesh, but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. 10But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alivee because of righteousness. 11And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the deadf will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you.
Heirs with Christ
12Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation, but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. 13For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
15For you did not receive a spirit of slavery that returns you to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption to sonship, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” 16The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17And if we are children, then we are heirs: heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ—if indeed we suffer with Him, so that we may also be glorified with Him.
Future Glory
(2 Corinthians 5:1–10)
18I consider that our present sufferings are not comparable to the glory that will be revealed in us. 19The creation waits in eager expectation for the revelation of the sons of God. 20For the creation was subjected to futility, not by its own will, but because of the One who subjected it, in hope 21that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.
22We know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until the present time. 23Not only that, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. 24For in this hope we were saved; but hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he can already see? 25But if we hope for what we do not yet see, we wait for it patiently.
26In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know how we ought to pray, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans too deep for words. 27And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
God Works in All Things
(Ephesians 1:3–14)
28And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose. 29For those God foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers. 30And those He predestined, He also called; those He called, He also justified; those He justified, He also glorified.
31What then shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also, along with Him, freely give us all things? 33Who will bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34Who is there to condemn us? For Christ Jesus, who died, and more than that was raised to life, is at the right hand of God—and He is interceding for us.
More than Conquerors
(Psalm 44:1–26)
35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36As it is written:
“For Your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”g
37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

In Romans 16:17, Paul writes, “I appeal to you brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them.”

“As I have observed, those who plow evil and those who sow trouble reap it” (Job 4:8). Trust God with troublemakers. You are not their judge and jury. He can handle them in His timing and in His way.

In Jesus Name, Amen!

So does this mean we should watch out for people who are your friend when you agree, and when someone disagrees with you. You change your tune and go on attack mode?

I was trying to connect with him despite my hatred of Calvinism but, he blew me off and rudely at that.
Hey, sis. I also was wondering about your own reasons for hating Calvinism.

For me, though teachers I respected like John MacArthur and Steve Brown taught the theology, I found that for someone who was struggling, there was nothing to fall back on. God did not so love the world, and Christ is not the propitiation for the sins of the whole world. There is nothing left. No gospel. No love. Nothing to believe in but the prospect of endless punishment.

I keep telling you, the rules of Greek grammar are such that the "that" in "and that not of yourselves" cannot refer to the word "faith". The gift of God is "salvation by grace through faith". But do you believe me? Noooooooooooo!

Of course I don’t believe you.

I have no idea what you are trying to convey above, as it’s “ your” word.

I can only go by the Living testimony of Gods witness the Living Holy Spirit.!

Just as his word says.

Faith comes by supernatural divine heart revelation..Spirit gives birth to spirit...how else could I possibly know that my spirit is Born Again?

Flesh gives birth to flesh.

Spirit gives birth to spirit.

You are saved from eternal damnation, once you are Born Of the Spirit and not before!...do you believe that, Nooooooooo!

Why on earth would I believe you?

My spirit had to be Born Again before I could possibly know of God via His Living Witness, the Living Holy Spirit....Gods Holy Spirit is a Living Spirit...The Spirit testifies with our spirit that we are the children of God....

No one can say Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit...the Living Holy Spirit...who happens to be God’s Living Witness.

And no I did not choose freely to believe in Jesus, God brought me to initially believe in Jesus, then gifted me the supernatural faith to believe in my heart/ spirit, I became Born Again by Gods mercy and grace, I’m not going to deny that, as I’m giving God all the Glory, there is NO glory in me!

If it upsets you, then you best take it up with God, I’m not going to deny my testimony because it upsets you and a few others, I’m here to Praise the power of the Spirit, I’m not here to praise myself and freewill..

I never freely chose to become regenerated, Born Of God’s seed, Born Of The Spirit...I was predestined and chosen by God, if you see that as bragging, I don’t, I see it as giving God all the GLORY!

All Glory, Honour goes to you Father God!..the biggest Honour and Privilege to be your spirit child, there is no greater an honour!!!...Praise your Holy Name!

Again, Look at your nic.

Are you promoting Christ and his work

Or promoting yourself as being elected (Your special)?
My user name is Biblical.

Not sure how you get pride out of that.

If I just put my name, is that prideful as well?

If you are a Christian you are His elect as well.

All Christians are special in the Lords eyes.

So you’re saying he does give everyone a chance to believe? And they must chose freely?
The unregenerate are blinded by the God of this world.

God's elect only believe.

Those who do not believe are children of the devil and will send themselves to hell.

The first time I had issue with it was shortly after becoming saved. It was several years before PC's. I was at the library all the time to get my hands on as many "Christian" books as I could. Many were great but this one, cannot remember who wrote it or it's title but, it was all about Calvinism. Well, of course it shook me up pretty good and I lost the joy of my salvation not to mention the little hope I already had had been stomped on. After speaking with my Pastor and good friend and sister in Christ, they calmed me yet, 30 some years later I remain with times of doubt.

Funny thing is that, 13 years ago I decided to walk into a reformed-Baptist church. The new pastor and his wife, not to mention pretty much the whole congregation were unapproachable, the wife literally and blatantly shunned me. I did not know they were Calvinist until I made an appointment with the young new pastor, I outright said something to the effect of "I am NOT a Calvinist, he said "I am a staunch 5 pointer; I think from there on in he could care less. He also said something un-becoming a man of God; "I would say more than half of this congregation was not saved"!
Was a very dry church and most there, had no idea what their pastor believed.
I foolishly stayed on for a couple of years will near zero fellowship. It became unbearable to even drive by that place, I left hurt and yet again questioning my salvation.

I know that Pink, Piper, MacArthur...have some good teachings outside of T.U.L.I.P.

There Is No One Righteous
(Psalm 14:1–7; Psalm 53:1–6; Isaiah 59:1–17)

9What then? Are we any better? Not at all. For we have already made the charge that Jews and Greeks alike are all under sin. 10As it is written:

“There is no one righteous,

not even one.

11There is no one who understands,

no one who seeks God.

12All have turned away,

they have together become worthless;

there is no one who does good,

not even one.”c

13“Their throats are open graves;

their tongues practice deceit.”d

“The venom of vipers is on their lips.”e

14“Their mouths are full

of cursing and bitterness.”f

15“Their feet are swift to shed blood;

16ruin and misery lie in their wake,

17and the way of peace they have not known.”g

18“There is no fear of God

before their eyes.”h

19Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. 20Therefore no one will be justified in His sight by works of the law. For the law merely brings awareness of sin.

What exactly was in the book that caused you to lose your joy in salvation?
