We had no preexistence only God is preexistent. We were only in the mind of God before our creation
He knew us in that sense, of what God would do before our births.
Psalm 139:16
Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.
As God says of Jeremiah
4 Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you;
Before you were born I sanctified[a] you;
I [b]ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
