Oh yes. Oh yes. Oh yes! Verses 26 and 27 are related by Messiah the Prince Himself! The 62 weeks ended in verse 26 and the final week began in verse 27. All by the Prince Himself. At the Cross. PERIOD! Case closed!
Nope. The Daniel 9:26 and 27th verses are NOT linked to Jesus Christ regarding the end of this world. And Daniel 9:27 has absolutely nothing to do with Christ's Ministry at His 1st coming. That is where you have been following a doctrine of men.
HERE IS THE PROPER INTERPRETATION OF THE DANIEL 9:25-27 VERSES:
Dan 9:25-27
25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
"
Messiah" is given as a noun in the above, and refers to the idea of a priest-king, and there is only One written of in God's Word that fits that priest-king role, Jesus Christ The Messiah (Ps.110:4; Zech.6:13; John 4:25). That word "
Prince" above is Hebrew
nagid, and can be translated as a ruler or leader or commander. But with the word "
Messiah" as part of that declaration, it can only point to Jesus Christ, The Messiah.
Thus we are not... to confuse that word
nagid (ruler) which is used later in the next Dan.9:26 verse as "
prince" which is about the Roman ruler general Titus whose army destroyed Jerusalem and the temple in 70 A.D.
26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
Only that part above in 'red' is about Jesus Christ. That shows Jesus would be crucified at the end of the 69th week (with the previous
"seven weeks" period from verse 25).
The next phrase of the above verse is about the Roman general Titus as that "
prince" whose army came and destroyed the city of Jerusalem and its sanctuary in 70 A.D.
The rest of that verse is referring to the very end of this world. God used the idea of waters
as a flood for a metaphor of how the "
serpent" attacks the symbolic "
woman", (Christ's Church of Revelation 12:13-17).
27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
KJV
That "
he" MUST... be picked up with the subject back in the previous Dan.9:26 verse about that "
prince" (Roman Titus as ruler or commander).
There is NO word Messiah connected with that word "prince" in verse 26. For that reason, that particular "
prince" MUST be interpreted as a common ruler or commander. It is about the Roman general Titus.
That
"overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate" idea is about the
"abomination that maketh desolate" of Daniel 11:31, which Lord Jesus warned the Church about for the very end of this world in His Olivet discourse (Matthew 24:15; Mark 13:14). Jesus was NOT pointing to Titus nor 70 A.D. Jesus was pointing to the very 'end' of this world just prior to His future return with that
"abomination of desolation" IDOL being setup at a temple in Jerusalem. Thus that "
he" is about the Final Antichrist at the end of this world.
Some who cannot grasp when God's Word is using metaphor in prophetic speech, wonder how that "
he" of Dan.9:27 can be about the final Antichrist at the end of this world. It is because of how God's Word gives '
types' as examples. God used the
"king of Tyrus" as a TYPE about Lucifer (Ezekiel 28). God used the
"king of Babylon" as a TYPE for Lucifer (Isaiah 14). God used
"the Assyrian" as a TYPE for Lucifer (Isaiah 10; Isaiah 30-31-33).
And with the history of what Antiochus Epiphanes did in 170-165 B.C. with spiritually desolating the 2nd temple in Jerusalem by ending the Jew's daily sacrifices, and instead his sacrificing swine inside that temple, and setting up an IDOL abomination in Zeus worship, also serves as a TYPE for the Final Antichrist placing the
"abomination of desolation" IDOL at the end of this world for the coming
"great tribulation".
But it is obvious that those you instead follow do not want fellow-believers on Jesus Christ to understand about that coming final Antichrist at the end of this world. Your words show you serve those children of darkness against Christ's Warning the Church about that coming Final Antichrist/false-Messiah placing that
"abomination of desolation" IDOL in a NEW JEWISH temple to be built by the orthodox unbelieving Jews at the end of this world, of which those Jews in today's Jerusalem already have the materials ready to build it.
