Exposure to a trio of pesticides found in up to half of all bottles of childrens’ apple juice could increase the risk of developing Parkinson’s disease in those with a genetic vulnerability, a new study suggests.Experts from UCLA found that Americans who carry 26 genetic mutations could be especially vulnerable to brain damage related to certain chemicals in produce.
Parkinson’s disease is a degenerative neurological disorder that affects areas of the brain that govern movement, speech, and memory. It affects nearly one million Americans.
Pesticides are ubiquitous in American agriculture across a range of crops, and scientists zoomed in on three chemical classes: organophosphorus, organoarsenic, and n-methylcarbamate.
All are used to kill bugs on fresh fruit and vegetables, with some studies suggesting traces are present in up to 50 percent of fruit juices on grocery store shelves.
Organophosphate pesticides are among the most widely used insecticides in agriculture, used to repel insects on a variety of crops including fruits and vegetables that turn into juices on grocery store shelves.
About 40 percent of all pesticides produced and used commercially are organophosphates.

The federal government examined over 80,000 food samples for pesticide residues in the years from 1991 and 1996.
During that investigation, they uncovered 13 organophosphate pesticides in or on food, according to FDA and USDA inspectors.
Organoarsenic has largely been phased out of the agricultural field, although many countries, including the United States and the European Union, have banned or restricted the use of organoarsenic pesticides.
N-methylcarbamate is widely used on a long roster of crops including fruits and vegetables, cotton, tobacco, nuts, wheat, and corn.
A 2004 study found the compound was widely found in fruit juices meant for children, because the insecticide is used on those crops. Carbaryl was the most common N-methyl carbamate detected in the juice samples, appearing in 58.6% of the tested samples, mostly apple juice.
UCLA Health investigators looked at a group of 757 Parkinson’s disease (PD) patients from the Parkinson’s, Environment, and Genes (PEG) study to explore the connection between genes, pesticides, and PD risk.
Most of the participants, who came from rural parts of Central California, were white males, and had an average age of 68.
While the scientists could not say to what extent pesticides increased PD risk, the research concludes that, under the right stress, such as exposure to certain pesticides, genetic mutations can, over time, lead to the development of Parkinson’s.
Organophosphorus, organoarsenic, and n-methylcarbamate are all neurotoxins that damage pathways in the brain driven by the neurotransmitter dopamine, involved in movement and mood.
Levels of this chemical plummet in cases of Parkinson’s, which leads to trademark tremors and cognitive decline.
The chemicals also disrupt the process of autophagy, which clears damaged proteins from cells. Disrupting this process may lead to the accumulation of toxic proteins linked to PD.
Researchers selected 85 genes known to be linked to PD from existing literature and genes involved in clearing out waste from brain cells.
The riskiest mutations were in genes EP300, FBXO7, and HTT, for subjects exposed to pesticides.
The presence of these mutations could be interact with pesticide exposure to increase the risk of PD.
The researchers detailed their findings in a new report published in the journal npj Parkinson’s Disease.

UCLA researchers previously identified 10 pesticides that specifically attack dopaminergic neurons, which determine motor skills and movement, the hallmark signs of Parkinson’s.
Two pesticides that have been studied and found to influence the risk of Parkinson’s include rotenone and paraquat.
Dr Freya Kamel, an NIH researcher, said: ‘Rotenone directly inhibits the function of the mitochondria, the structure responsible for making energy in the cell.
‘People who used these pesticides or others with a similar mechanism of action were more likely to develop Parkinson’s disease.’

Heather Idoni, a defendant in the Washington D.C. FACE (Freedom to Access Clinic Entrances) Act trials, told LifeSiteNews that she has been subjected to 22 days of solitary confinement. In an exclusive interview, she said that she received this punishment for sharing food with fellow prisoners. Idoni alleged that she was allowed to walk outside her cell only for two hours in the middle of the night each day and that the lights of her cell were continually kept on. Idoni has been in prison since she was convicted last autumn.

Fellow pro-life advocate Cal Zastro, who joined Idoni in another traditional pro-life rescue in Tennessee and has also been convicted of violation of the FACE Act, told LifeSiteNews that when Idoni was brought into the courtroom for a trial in Nashville, the U.S. marshal had the middle-aged woman shackled at the wrists, waist, and feet, as if she were a dangerous criminal.
Zastro said that, upon entering the courtroom, the shocked judge ordered the shackles removed. Initially the marshal agreed to remove the shackles from only one wrist to allow Idoni freedom to write, a concession necessary for her to take notes, as she was then representing herself in court. Only at the insistence of the indignant judge were the shackles of both wrists finally removed, although the marshal left the bars around her waist and feet.

Severe weather events have been ripping up communities across America over the past few weeks
Storm chaser Freddy McKinney filmed an amazing scene as he helped rescue a family of four just minutes after their home was completely destroyed by a Texas tornado this week.
McKinney saw the tornado get close to some homes in Hawley, Texas, and drove forward for a closer look.
It was at that moment he saw “people” walking down a dirt road, rolled down his window, and yelled, “Get in! Get in the car! Open the door, get in. Come on guys!”
A mother carrying her young daughter, a young boy with a bloody face, and the father all ran towards the car.
“Help us! Please, God help. Hurry! Come on! Please get us! I need your phone, I need to call my mom,” the mother frantically told the driver.
Once inside the car, the family can be heard asking the driver to stop and pick up their family dog who was nearby, and requesting to be taken to the nearest hospital to treat their injuries.
The brave storm chaser quickly drove the injured family to the hospital where they were treated and are currently recovering thanks to the grace of God.
Photos of the family recovering from the incident and footage of the destroyed house were uploaded online.
McKinney took to X to update his followers, writing, “Guys I’m okay I took a family to the hospital. Thank god they survived that tornado their house was absolutely leveled.”
A cousin of the family set up a GoFundMe to help with hospital bills and their home being destroyed.

It’s a lesson that should be kept in mind when discussing America’s relationship with Israel. Video footage on Twitter showed plumes of smoke rising from the makeshift encampments and residential buildings where more than 1.4 million refugees are presently huddled in the most densely populated place on earth. Israel’s air campaign was accompanied by a sizable ground-offensive that deployed tanks and armored vehicles to the southern border where Israeli troops quickly seized the Rafah Crossing without resistance.
The sudden uptick in violence has triggered widespread panic among the Palestinians many of who have already gathered their families and belongings onto carts and buses and fled northward to safety. The opening assault on the civilian enclave is reminiscent of earlier attacks on Gaza City and Khan Younis both of which followed a similar pattern. The launching of random bombings is designed to amplify feelings of terror within the population while the humanitarian blockade tightens the stranglehold on critical food and medical supplies.
The objective here is not to kill as many Palestinians as possible, but to force them into sprawling tent cities where they will languish amid the rubble until the international community finds a way to spirit them out of the country. For Israel, the endgame has always been ethnic cleansing, a comprehensive erasure of the native population. The ground invasion of Rafah represents the final phase of that maniacal strategy. The cynical and misleading phrase “Israel’s right to defend itself” has become synonymous with the premeditated mass-murder of civilians. Most people have never seen anything as horrific as Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza which explains why college campuses across the United States have become hotbeds of political activism almost overnight. America’s students now serve as the nation’s conscience by opposing a flagrantly-immoral onslaught that deliberately targets defenseless women and children.
Not surprisingly, Israel has yet to produce any hard evidence that their 7 month-long bloodbath has killed even one Hamas militant. Instead, we are expected to believe the unverified claims of IDF spokesmen who have proven themselves to be thoroughly unreliable time and time again. For all we know, the Hamas death figures are completely fabricated like the “40 beheaded babies” or the numerous fictitious rape allegations. All of these elaborate hoaxes have turned out to be part of a twisted, public relations campaign aimed at building support for Israel’s relentless butchery.
In fact, there is no reason to believe that Israel’s operation has anything to do with Hamas at all. Hamas is merely a pretext for corralling the Palestinians and driving them out of Gaza. That’s the real goal.
But while surveys show that a large majority of the global population opposes Israel’s demented crusade, that is not the case in Israel. A recent article by Philip Giraldi stated that “92% of Israelis fully support the slaughter of the Palestinians by Netanyahu and his psychopaths.” Author Norman Finkelstein has largely corroborated Giraldi’s findings but provided more detail in a recent interview on You Tube.
Here’s what he said:
“It’s not just the Israeli state. If you look at the Israeli society… overwhelmingly supports the genocidal war in Gaza. It’s about 95% of the Jewish Israelis who support the war. … I have to admit, I was astonished when I read the numbers… As of January, only 3.2 percent of Jewish Israelis believe the IDF is using too much firepower in Gaza. Can you believe those numbers? As of January, when the case had already reached the ICJ on the question of genocide, only 3.2 percent of Jewish Israelis believed the IDF was using too much firepower in Gaza. So, when people blame Netanyahu for the insanity …that is a misrepresentation of the facts…. The whole population agrees with what Netanyahu is doing. In a 2-minute video on Rumble, Finkelstein provided even more interesting datapoints which help to illustrate the monstrous character of the current Israeli rampage. Not surprisingly, his remarks were scrubbed from You Tube but presented instead on a smaller “free speech” platform called Rumble. Here’s part of what he said:
I have very little sympathy for what has become of that state. It’s a satanic state…. If you look at every metric: Intensity of bombing; Payload of bombs; Imprecision of bombs; Destruction of civilian infrastructure; Ratio of civilians to combatants killed; Ratio of women and children to total numbers killed. What are we to make of this? After all, Americans are constantly being told that Israelis are just like them, and that we share the same western values and western beliefs. So, why the vast discrepancy? Why, for example, do 75% of Democrats now oppose Israel’s action in Gaza (Majority in U.S. Now Disapprove of Israeli Action in Gaza, Gallup) while an overwhelming majority of Israelis think the bloodletting should continue?
And why do we constantly hear Israeli political leaders and senior-level bureaucrats denigrating Palestinians in the most vitriolic and hateful language? And, finally, why do we see a myriad of videos on social media of Israelis celebrating the destruction of Palestinian hospitals, universities and mosques, or blocking food trucks headed for Gaza, or gleefully mugging for a camera while mistreating the prisoners in their care? How do we explain this phenomenon? What twisted ideology has poisoned the minds of these people that they would treat others with such egregious inhumanity? Scenes like this (in the video) are bound to make ordinary people scratch their heads and wonder why the Israelis are so happy that their army is being used to crush a civilian population. What glory is there in that?
None at all. Many people are equally baffled when they hear Israeli politicians spew their loathing for Palestinians while making the case that women and children deserve the same punishment as Hamas. Where does that wellspring of hatred come from? And why would anyone in their right-mind want to block humanitarian aid trucks from delivering food to starving women and children? How sick is that?
How do people get this way? What sort of social environment produces people who celebrate sadistic acts of brutality and cruelty?
Author Lawrence Davidson helps to answer these questions by showing how the transplanting of mainly European Jews to Palestine created “cultural and ‘racial’ incubators for an ‘us (superior) vs. them (inferior)’” which is fairly common among settler populations. Here’s more:

The Israelis have taught their children the imperial point of view, augmented it with biased media reporting, labeled the inevitable resistance offered by the Palestinians as anti-Semitism and took it as proof of the need to suppress and control this population of “Others.”
And, from the Zionist standpoint, this entire process has worked remarkably well. Today all but a handful of Israeli Jews dislike and fear the people they conquered and displaced. It’s worth noting, that the views of other analysts are not entirely in synch with Davidson’s. For example, here’s how author Ron Unz responded when he was asked if he thought ‘racism played a role in the way the Palestinians are treated (by Israel)?
As I discussed in a long 2018 article, the word “racism” is far too mild a term to describe the attitude of traditional Orthodox Judaism towards all non-Jews. Drawing upon the seminal work of Israeli Prof. Israel Shahak, I highlighted some important facts:

For example, my history books had always disapprovingly mentioned Germany’s Max Nordau and Italy’s Cesare Lombroso as two of the founding figures of European racism and eugenics theories, but it was only very recently that I discovered that Nordau had also been the joint founder with Theodor Herzl of the world Zionist movement, while his major racialist treatise Degeneration, was dedicated to Lombroso, his Jewish mentor…
Obviously the Talmud is hardly regular reading among ordinary Jews these days…But it is important to keep in mind that until just a few generations ago, almost all European Jews were deeply Orthodox,… Highly distinctive cultural patterns and social attitudes can easily seep into a considerably wider population, especially one that remains ignorant of the origin of those sentiments, a condition enhancing their unrecognized influence. A religion based upon the principle of “Love Thy Neighbor” may or may not be workable in practice, but a religion based upon “Hate Thy Neighbor” might have long-term cultural ripple effects that extend far beyond the direct community of the deeply pious. New “Guide” Teaches UK MPs to Spot “Conspiracy Theories”

The British government has issued a new guidebook to all sitting MPs to help them spot “conspiracy theories”.Leader of the House Penny Mordaunt MP, who commissioned the guide, has warned that:
The proliferation of conspiracy theories across the UK is deeply disturbing. They are deliberate campaigns to spread disinformation and fear […] If they go unchallenged we risk the public being conned and their wellbeing potentially damaged. These campaigns are also a threat to the health of our democracy. It is essential that we give the public and their representatives the tools they need to combat this phenomenon.”
And claimed the aim of the new guide was to:
protect the public from the damaging effects of misinformation and safeguard the integrity of our democratic process,”
Which sounds just lovely, doesn’t it?
Oh, and just in case any of you are still caught up in the party politics illusion, the guide has full cross-party support, the Shadow Leader of the House called it “a must-read”.
The report was co-written by “experts” representing several non-governmental organisations, and fact-checkers including:
- FullFact – funded by (among others) Google, Facebook and the Open Society Foundation.
- The Institute for Strategic Dialogue – funded by (among others) the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Google, Facebook, over a dozen national governments and the UN.
- Global Network on Extremism and Technology – The academic research arm of the Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism, a thinktank “designed to prevent terrorists and violent extremists from exploiting digital platforms”…and which is funded by (among others) Facebook, Amazon, Youtube and Microsoft.
But we probably shouldn’t judge until we’ve read the “guide” itself, which is tricky because it doesn’t seem to be publicly available (seriously I looked everywhere, if you’re aware of a copy online post it in the comments and we’ll add it the link here).
Fortunately, our old friends at the Guardian have given us a little taste, here’s three things they’re warning about.
The Great Reset, which the Graun describes as…
…a vague set of proposals from the World Economic Forum to encourage governments to move to adopt more equitable policies, the concept has been hijacked by conspiracy theorists claiming it is a bid by a small group to exert control.
…which is wonderful, because it’s essentially admitting it’s true and then pretending it’s not.
The Great Reset is, indeed, a WEF initiative. It was launched in June 2020 with the backing of world leaders and captains of industry, it aims to totally and completely rebuild the way our society works, including how we travel, what we eat and where we live.

How is that NOT “exerting control”? How does one go about transforming the farming, travel, taxation and employment policies of every nation on Earth without “exerting control”?
Eating Insects is another “conspiracy theory”, apparently. With the Guardian warning that:
[conspiracy theories] have included claims – fuelled by attempts to reduce meat consumption – that the WEF wants to make people eat insects.
The only problem being that the WEF really does want people to eat insects:

To encompass how mad this is you have to picture it being done on an interpersonal level.
Imagine a double-glazing salesman comes to your door, wearing a double-glazing company logo and holding a double-glazing sales catalogue and says “I think you should buy some double-glazing”.
To which you reply, “No thanks I don’t need any double glazing.”
At this point the man screams “Double glazing? Who said anything about double glazing!? You lunatic!” storms off down the path, gets in his double-glazing van and drives away.
It’s just that insane.
Climate Lockdowns are the third “conspiracy theory” the Guardian warns us about, claiming:
The ISD identified “climate lockdown” as the catchphrase for the conspiracy that the climate crisis will be used as a pretext for depriving citizens of liberty.
But climate lockdowns are not a conspiracy theory either, they were first posited in a report in October 2020 published by Project Syndicate and the World Council for Sustainable Development. The proposed lockdown included banning private vehicles, the consumption of red meat and “extreme energy-saving measures”.
Since then we have been inundated with peer-review studies, claiming lockdown is good for the environment.
The Guardian itself headlined, in March 2021:

It was such an unpopular story that they sneakily changed the headline.
It’s fairly clear that “climate lockdowns” are far from a conspiracy theory, that they were planned and then abandoned (or delayed) due to public anger at the first lockdown.

Oh well.
Still, it’s reassuring to know that unnamed experts from billionaire-funded NGOs are writing “guides” teaching our elected officials about the dangers of wrongthink.

A video documenting the destruction of a NATO-supplied tank in Ukrainian service appeared on Russian social media on Tuesday. Initially identified as a German-made Leopard, the tank was later established to have been a US-made Abrams.Only 31 Abrams tanks of the M1A1 type were sent to Ukraine, arriving late last year. Five had been confirmed destroyed as of mid-April. The newest video would bring the tally up to seven, while three others have taken significant damage.
Thermal camera footage attributed to Donetsk People’s Republic scouts shows a first-person-view (FPV) drone chasing the tank along a road before striking the back of the turret.
The view then switches to an observation drone, which documents another strike on the crew as it attempts to flee the burning vehicle.
According to the Russian open-source intelligence outfit Rybar, the strike took place on the Avdeevka front.
Rybar analysts were puzzled that the Ukrainian armed forces have not even attempted to improve the NATO-supplied tanks with field modifications designed to protect against UAV strikes. Such contraptions, initially derided as “grills” and “cope cages,” have proven to be effective against the widely used FPV drones.
One of the Abrams tanks destroyed on the Avdeevka front was salvaged by Russian troops and brought to Moscow as a trophy ahead of the May 9 Victory Day festivities. The Russian military has also released a video of its demise, this time by guided anti-tank missiles.
Long believed to be one of the best-armored tanks in the world, the Abrams has been shown as vulnerable to a range of Russian weapons. The New York Times recently lamented the fact that $500 drones are so easily wrecking $10 million armored vehicles.
