A few questions for you prophecy experts?
What is the purpose of this debate?
Even the Apostles didn't understand prophecy until after its fulfillment, and it had to be explained to them.
Are you guys somehow more learned or spiritual than the Apostles?
There are numerous exhortations in scripture to treat our brothers with kindness and respect, and to avoid pointless arguments.
This entire thread, and pretty much every thread like it, is the very definition of pointless. And with very few exceptions, it clearly brings out the worst in everyone involved.
Do any of you actually read what you have written before you post it?
Please don't misunderstand me. What I'm saying here is as much about myself as it is you. I too am guilty of crossing the line from time to time. I do not always speak to my brothers and sisters in the proper manner. I quickly and easily allow my flesh to rule over my spirit. I'm just as guilty of these things as anyone else.
And it makes me ashamed when I realize that I have behaved in this manner.
The bible was given to us to teach us how to live before God, and how to live with one another in peace and love and unity, how to serve one another in humility.
Are we using the scriptures in this way?
Or rather, as a club to beat one another over the head, while attempting to prove our intellectual and moral superiority?
No matter how highly we may value our own opinions, the fact is. There are no prophecy experts in this forum. Because there are no prophecy experts anywhere. Period.
The bible is full of things that are easily understood, and meant to be put into practice.
We neglect these clear instructions from scripture, and their practice, to focus on things that are not easily understood, and will never be clearly understood, until only after they have taken place.
Is this not pride?
Is this not vanity?
Is this not sin?
If I've offended you, please forgive me.
As I said before, I'm just as guilty as the rest of you.
Perhaps you would like to join with me in my repentance.
