Do you understand that a woman who stays at home actually works?? If you wake up before the sun, and your candle doesn't go out by night, you work just as hard (if not more) than your husband who works 9 to 5. So his paycheck is not just his. It is both his and yours, equally.

An older woman told me I should have a university degree and three years of job training to survive in these cases
I disagree. This is assuming a husband can't set up his wife well should he pass away. A good man can care for his wife way better than a boss.

First of all, you're only addressing ONE aspect of the whole "leaves you, dies or abuses you." Yes, a husband can make enough money to take out enough life insurance (for example) to set his wife up nicely IN CASE he dies.

But what about if he leaves?
Or if he's abusive to the point where YOU have to leave?

There are so many government safety nets women have before they are left penniless on the streets.

Those government safety nets are set up for people who either don't have a way of producing an income OR for assisting those who may be able to work, but only at low paying jobs because of a lack of education/skills. In other words, they're set up to assist others to get INTO the job force and become self-sufficient.

I am not against women working or making money but many marriages fail because of careerism. Family is more important than career advancement and that goes for both men and women.

SOME fail because of the HUSBAND'S careerism.
SOME fail because of the WIFE'S careerism.

But MOST marriages don't fail because of careerism.

You're also making the assumption that ALL women who want to marry and have children will eventually do so. But even though MOST women may want that, there's no guarantee that 1.) she will marry at a time when she CAN have kids or 2.) that she'll marry AT ALL. or 3.) that her marriage will last 'forever'.

I don't know of any exclusive 'feminist' groups that do that. But I DO know that within the Father's Rights Movement, about 15% of the members are women.

Just like how some feminist groups can be highly antagonistic toward men, some men's groups can also be caustic toward women.

Radicalism in BOTH spheres.

IMy mom did it all and I respect her. But now its an expectation. And Im saying its an unnecessary expectation. Just because women can balance a full time career, husband, and children doesn't mean they should.

Here is Titus 2:3-5 for the Scripture calling women to be keepers at home in context.

3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

I was never taught this at any church. Christian women are influenced by feminism too. Just because a lot of people do something, doesn't make it good or a net benefit for society.

One of the evils of feminism is the appeal to vanity in glorifying women’s ability. When women actually strive to achieve ‘have it all’ they invariably are stressed and unhappy. Cause and Effect.

You’ve done a great job of pointing out The Matrix where working for your husband, who loves you, and family is deemed oppression and condemned but working for a boss who could not care less, is glorified and praised. Sadly, many women don’t realize they’re being manipulated through flattery, their vanity.

At my church, a skit that caused me to leave began, ‘the best father’s can take a joke.’ This is manipulation in suppressing opposition to the insults that followed due to not taking ‘the joke’ is tacit admission you are not among the best fathers. Nobody wants to admit they’re not the best. To escape the evil trap requires humility.

And this is the price to be saved; to have the humility one is not an effective lord of their own life, that one needs Jesus to be our Lord. Humility.

That is true....not only did I stay at home and work, keeping the house and garden, looking after 3 children, when I was married...that wasn’t enough for my husband at the time...I had to work 2 sometimes 3 night duties a week...he never lifted a finger ,with helping with the children...or the housework or the cleaning or the garden.....

I was run ragged....Praise God, I don’t believe I will ever go through that again...

He had reached his breaking point hadn’t he....he’d taken it from her for years....I understand where he came from.

I reached breaking point with my ex....you just know in your gut when it’s over, well I did, back then..

You can only take so much abuse...we’ve all got our breaking point.

Of course a Godly marriage wouldn’t or shouldn’t be like that....because we would be led by God, as he should be the head in any marriage....just my thoughts.

Women in general are also advised to be wary of a man who has no friends. That's because he will rely on YOU to be HIS ONLY friend.
