I'd like to really know this experientially.
Sometimes I let fear take over. It's satanic.

that imo is a natural reaction to imagining a possible future coming true, that we should all pay attention to.
i guess the cure is to stop imagining the future, at least past sundown?

expectations play a part here too i guess,
i consider them only slightly worse than "beliefs" tbh

If we're disciples of Christ , we're required to follow Him, which means that we will be transformed
And become more like Him. The word you might recognize is conversion.
You're to become more loving, as Jesus would want.

i guess the disconnect comes in whether your beliefs and expectations are being realized today or not, something like that.
If they are all about tomorrow, i am not too interested
